At the same time, Chris Shelby looked at Heathcliff Hunter and said calmly, “Heathcliff Hunter, I’ll give you one last chance. If you choose to surrender, I can spare your life and hand you over to the authorities.”
Heathcliff Hunter gritted his teeth. “King of the East Coast, don’t pretend to be merciful. I know exactly what I’ve done. Even if you spare me, my crimes are enough to keep me in prison for life! I don’t want that kind of life. If you want me dead, then I’ll fight you to the end!”
Heathcliff Hunter glanced at all the members of the Flying Leopards. “Brothers, we have no way out today! The man before us is the King of the East Coast. You all know what he’s capable of. With our crimes, falling into his hands would be worse than death!”
“Since that’s the case, let’s fight! If we kill the King of the East Coast, then we will rule the East Coast! Brothers, attack!”
“Attack!”
“Attack!”
“Attack!”
With a command, thirty thousand members of the Flying Leopards charged at Chris Shelby with various weapons.
All the members knew they had no retreat. The King of the East Coast was known for his hatred of evil; those who fell into his hands rarely had good outcomes. Their only chance to survive was to fight desperately.
Seeing this, a look of disdain appeared on Chris Shelby’s face. “Since you wish to die, I’ll grant your wish!”
Chris Shelby glanced at Bull beside him and said calmly, “Take care of these people.”
“Yes!” Bull nodded and waved his hand with a sinister smile.
In an instant, one hundred thousand members of East Coast Securities charged forward.
Soon, both sides were locked in a fierce battle. However, in terms of morale and numbers, East Coast Securities held a decisive advantage.
As time passed, the members of the Flying Leopards began to falter. In less than half an hour, they were utterly defeated.
Countless members knelt on the ground with their hands over their heads, choosing to surrender.
“You…” Heathcliff Hunter’s face turned pale as he watched. He never imagined his men would be so easily defeated by East Coast Securities in such a short time.
“Now it’s your turn,” Chris Shelby said coldly after dealing with all the Flying Leopards’ members.
Step by step, Chris Shelby walked towards Heathcliff Hunter. Each step seemed to press on Heathcliff Hunter’s heart, making it beat faster.
“King of the East Coast, don’t come any closer! If you do, I’ll take you down with me!” Heathcliff Hunter shouted, pulling out a firearm and aiming it at Chris Shelby.
Chris Shelby laughed disdainfully at the sight of the weapon. “Do you think a mere firearm can deal with me? You’re too naive! Go ahead and shoot; let’s see if you can kill me.”
Hearing this, Heathcliff Hunter’s face turned grim. He hadn’t expected Chris Shelby to remain so arrogant even when faced with a gun.
“King of the East Coast, you’ve forced me into this! Die!” Heathcliff Hunter roared and pulled the trigger.
But just then, Chris Shelby vanished from where he stood.
“What…?” Heathcliff Hunter was stunned. Before he could react, Chris Shelby was already in front of him, gripping his neck and lifting him off the ground.
“Let go of me! Let go!” Heathcliff Hunter struggled violently as his face turned red.
Chris Shelby looked at him coldly. “Didn’t you want to die? I’ll grant your wish!” With that, he tightened his grip slightly.
A feeling of suffocation overwhelmed Heathcliff Hunter. Panicking, he shouted, “Let me go! I don’t want to die! Please spare my life!”
In fear of death, Heathcliff Hunter finally begged for mercy.
Chris Shelby chuckled disdainfully and loosened his grip slightly. “If you want me to spare you, tell me everything about your conspiracy with Ironheart Steer.”
“Yes… yes…” Heathcliff Hunter quickly revealed their plot.
Hearing about the man in black by Ironheart Steer’s side brought a playful smile to Chris Shelby’s face. He didn’t need to guess; he knew this man was sent by Daniel Williams.
But Daniel Williams was too arrogant! Did he really think a mere Transcendence realm practitioner could deal with East Coast Securities? Ridiculous!
After questioning him, Chris Shelby tossed Heathcliff Hunter to the ground and said to Bull, “Hand him over to the authorities.”
“Yes!” Bull immediately had Heathcliff Hunter taken away without any further words.
With Chris Shelby’s strength, killing Heathcliff Hunter would have been easy, but he didn’t do it. Heathcliff Hunter was just a minor figure unworthy of being killed by him. Besides, even if Chris Shelby didn’t kill him, Heathcliff Hunter’s crimes would likely keep him in prison for life.
Just then, Chris Shelby’s phone rang. It was Esther calling.
“Darling!”
“Honey, are you okay?” Esther asked worriedly on the other end.
Chris Shelby smiled lightly. “Don’t worry; I’m fine. I’ve already rescued Emily.”
Hearing that he was okay made Esther sigh in relief. “Come back soon!”
With that said, Esther hung up.
Chris Shelby looked at Emily beside him and asked, “Do you want to come back with me?”
Emily shook her head. “No, I’ve been out for too long; my sister will worry about me.”
Hearing this, Chris Shelby didn’t bother with her anymore. Emily had Rhys and Griffin protecting her; as long as she didn’t act recklessly like this time when she snuck out alone, she should be safe.
Afterward, Chris Shelby drove back to Cloud Bay.
Seeing him return alone made Esther curious. “Honey, why didn’t Emily come back with you?”
Chris Shelby replied casually, “Don’t worry about her; her family came and took her back.”
Esther didn’t ask further since Emily should be safe with her family around…
The next day, Chris Shelby got up early. With the Flying Leopards dealt with, Ironheart Steer was next on his list. However, Ironheart Steer was very cunning; there had been no news about him so far which gave Chris Shelby a headache.
At that moment Esther approached Chris Shelby.
“Honey,” she said softly. “I have something to tell you.”
