Sylvia had just started speaking when the door to the private room was knocked. The waiter smiled respectfully, “We will start serving the dishes now. Have you two been waiting long?”
She then led several servers into the room, who began placing delicious dishes on the table in an orderly manner.
Sylvia looked helplessly at the exquisite dishes, “Let’s eat.”
Franklin looked at her with gentle affection and served her some food, “Was work tiring today?”
“Today was alright. It’s just that there are still a lot of troublesome things at the hospital.” Sylvia thought of Sabrina and her group of sycophants, each one more abnormal than the last.
Tomorrow morning, she would be able to get the DNA test results. She hoped it would be as she expected.
The dinner was quite enjoyable; after all, the reputation of Cloud Restaurant’s delicious food was well deserved.
Meanwhile, in another private room, it was eerily quiet.
Two men sat on either side of a woman, sandwiching her in the middle.
Despite the array of delicious dishes before her, Olivia had no appetite.
She was extremely tense, constantly on edge, fearing that someone might see her being so close to her two brothers.
“It’s just the three of us here, darling. What are you afraid of?” Bryce looked down at Olivia’s still pale face. From the moment they entered the private room, she had been in a state of high tension, never relaxing for a moment.
“What am I afraid of? Don’t you both know best?” Olivia lowered her head, revealing her long, jade-like neck. Her pale skin looked almost transparent. “What will it take for you to let me go?”
“Never. Don’t even think about it.” Dexter served her a bowl of corn soup. “Have some soup to calm your nerves. We’re not tigers that will eat you. We just want to be happily together with you.”
“Isn’t it good for the three of us to never be apart?” Bryce looked at Olivia with a loving smile. “Don’t worry, Mom and Dad will accept us. If we marry other women, they’ll have to deal with in-law issues. But if we marry you, we’ll still be one family. Isn’t that great?”
Olivia’s eyes filled with terror, “I don’t want that…”
“In the future, you can give us a baby each-one for Dexter and one for me. Ideally, a boy and a girl. That way, we’ll have both a son and a daughter,” Bryce said excitedly, his eyes full of interest and anticipation. “Isn’t that wonderful?”
“No, not at all.” Olivia listened to his increasingly outrageous and terrifying words, feeling on the verge of a breakdown. “You not only imprison me but also want me to have children? No, I don’t want that!”
Dexter looked at Olivia with affection as she became emotional. “Darling, don’t get so worked up. In the future, we’ll live happily as a family of four. Big brother and I will earn money outside while you stay home with the kids. Isn’t that nice? And it’s not like we’re asking you to have children right away.”
“I’ve heard that in remote areas, there’s often only one woman in an entire family. So this does exist in reality. Don’t be afraid. You’re so adorable; we can’t bear to let you go,” Bryce continued with his shocking words, causing Olivia’s eyes to redden with anger. “Big brother, please don’t do this.”
She tightly grasped Bryce’s hands. “Let me go. You can have any woman you want with just a wave of your hand. Why does it have to be me?”
Tears streamed down her face as she desperately wanted to escape.
She looked at the two brothers in despair, “Will you only be happy if I die?”
“Darling, what are you talking about? We haven’t even married you yet!” Dexter quickly grabbed her hand and pressed her back into her seat. “We love and pamper you so much. If you want the stars, we’ll never give you the moon. We’ll do anything for you. Will any other man love you as much as we do?”
“Loving you has become a habit, ingrained in our bones. So, Olivia, don’t run away,” Bryce said passionately as he looked at her. “We will definitely treat you well.”
The brothers were indeed famously good to Olivia; everyone knew they were overprotective of their sister.
Bryce looked pained, “Olivia, will you only understand how much we love you if we dig out our hearts for you? It hurts so much; we can’t live without you.”
“But this is wrong. Brothers, what will it take for you to understand that this is wrong? It goes against morality and ethics. Please let me go…” Olivia’s beautiful eyes filled with tears that streamed down her face, making her look incredibly sorrowful.
She didn’t want to hear another word; her heart was filled with despair.
She stared blankly at the spotless white walls of the private room, feeling so dirty in comparison.
So very dirty!
“Olivia, stop overthinking and eat something. We brought you out to enjoy some good food,” Dexter said as he served her some food. Just as he did so, Olivia suddenly stood up and rushed towards the wall.
The brothers were shocked and immediately dropped their chopsticks to stop her.
But it was too late.
With a loud “bang,” Olivia’s head slammed into the wall. Blood instantly gushed from her forehead, splattering onto the pristine white wall and filling the air with a faint metallic scent.
Her blood-covered body slid down the wall as Bryce felt his heart stop, almost unable to beat.
Dexter rushed over and cradled Olivia’s body, “Darling, darling, are you okay?”
“It hurts so much…” Olivia’s head felt like it was about to explode. She could clearly feel the blood streaming down her face and soaking her clothes. A smile of liberation spread across her face, “Brother… I’m finally free…”
“Olivia, how could you be so foolish?” Bryce quickly took out his phone and made a call, “Hello? Emergency services? Hurry! Someone has attempted suicide by slamming into a wall! We’re at Cloud Restaurant.”
After hanging up, he said to Dexter, “Take care of her; I’ll see if the hotel has an emergency first aid kit.”
He then rushed out.
He hurriedly ran towards the customer service center in the lobby.
At this time, Sylvia and Franklin had just finished their meal and were walking out of their private room, looking relaxed and at ease.
Sylvia glanced up and saw Bryce rushing out of another private room in a hurry. “What’s gotten into Bryce? Why is he running so fast?”
Her intuition told her something must have happened.
“I don’t know,” Franklin frowned handsomely. “Could it be that something has happened to Olivia again?”
The only thing that could drive the Hogan brothers crazy seemed to be Olivia.
Sylvia’s heart skipped a beat, “Let’s go check.”
Olivia had depression and her mental state was very unstable; she could act out at any moment.
She grabbed Franklin’s hand and ran towards the private room where the Hogan siblings were staying. “Hurry up.”
Franklin followed her lead as they quickly reached the private room. The door was ajar and not fully closed. Sylvia peeked through the gap and saw blood inside. She was startled and pushed open the door to witness a shocking scene.
The floor was covered in bright red blood, and the air was filled with a faint metallic scent.
Dexter was holding an unconscious Olivia in his arms, murmuring softly, “Olivia, don’t scare me. Olivia…”
The woman’s eyes were closed tightly, her face covered in blood that continued to flow from her forehead wound.
Sylvia hurried over and knelt down to check on Olivia’s condition. “What happened? Why is there so much blood?”
Dexter looked up to see Sylvia’s anxious face and said hoarsely, “She tried to kill herself by slamming into the wall.”
Sylvia was furious and spoke sternly, “Did you say something to provoke her? Do you know what caused her depression? Can you stop hurting her?”
“We would never hurt her…” Dexter said anxiously. “Now is not the time for your scolding… I heard you’re a doctor?”
Sylvia ignored him and turned to Franklin, “Tear off your shirt hem.”
Franklin immediately complied and tore off his shirt hem before handing it to Sylvia.
Sylvia gritted her teeth, “There are no disinfectants or bandages here; we need to bandage her wound first.”
If this continued, she could lose too much blood and face irreversible consequences.
Just as she finished speaking, there were footsteps behind them. Bryce returned with a medical kit along with the hotel manager. “Oh my God! So much blood! How am I going to run my business like this?”
“Human life is at stake! What are you yelling about?” Sylvia glared at him.
The manager shrank back under her glare, “Yes, yes, you’re right.”
Sylvia took out gauze and iodine from the medical kit and used clean cotton swabs dipped in iodine to disinfect Olivia’s wound before applying some medicinal powder on it.
She then wrapped gauze around the wound and secured it with Franklin’s shirt hem for extra stability.
After doing all this, she checked Olivia’s pulse for a moment before saying, “With this much blood loss, she might be in danger. She was already weak from a recent hospital stay.”
She glanced at the worried Hogan brothers and said, “Your family’s issues are none of my business, but I can’t help but say this: if you truly love her and care for her well-being, I advise you to stay away from her.”
Bryce’s face darkened as he looked at her. “What are you saying? We’re her brothers; we’d never harm her.”
Sylvia sneered coldly, “Whether you’re harming her or not is something you know best in your hearts. If you’re really her brothers, then act like it and fulfill your duties properly.”
