“Dr. Leo, your miraculous methods have given me a deeper understanding of traditional Atrarian medicine. In the future, if traditional Atrarian doctors encounter difficulties, I hope you won’t hesitate to lend a hand.”
Brennen’s old face was full of seriousness, and his words were sincere.
Although Leo sensed something from Brennen’s expression, he still nodded repeatedly.
The two sat down again, and Leo asked directly, “Mr. Holland, you came all the way from the capital to my small clinic. Is there something important?”
Brennen didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he took a sip of tea and then pulled a document from his bag, pushing it towards Leo.
Leo reached out and took the document, opening it.
The three large characters on the cover made Leo frown.
The cover read “Challenge Letter.”
Inside, there was a passage in both Korean and Atrarian, stating that Korean Medicine was challenging traditional Atrarian medicine.
The document was stamped with the seal of the Korean Medical Research Society and signed by its president, Seung Kim.
After the initial surprise, Leo found this to be expected. At the last seminar, Jay Park and his Korean Medicine colleagues had lost face, so it was natural for them to want to regain their honor.
Leo guessed that since they couldn’t recruit him, they decided to issue a challenge instead.
“Dr. Leo, this is a challenge letter from Seung Kim of the Korean Medical Research Society. The challenge is set for one month from now,” Brennen said gravely. “Seung Kim has even boasted that he will personally defeat traditional Atrarian medicine and establish Korean Medicine’s legitimacy worldwide.”
Leo didn’t speak; he just looked at the contents of the challenge letter in silence.
Brennen’s intentions were now clear: he wanted Leo to represent traditional Atrarian medicine and accept Seung Kim’s challenge.
Seeing that Leo wasn’t speaking, Brennen continued, “Leo, I pride myself on not misjudging people. You are the only one who can meet Seung Kim’s challenge. Can you represent traditional Atrarian medicine?”
Leo thought of the Bronze Acupuncture Figure Jay Park had shown on his phone. He made up his mind and nodded decisively. “Alright, Mr. Holland, I accept the challenge!”
It was time to put Korean Medicine in its place!
Three days later, the Spring Dawn Garden auction, organized by Bonham Auction House, was held with great pomp.
Spirit Moon Antiques set up a small booth.
The Triple Element Commerce Association sent someone to help-a man named Henry Jefferson, who had been an auctioneer at the Golden Eagle Plaza auction.
Henry seemed to have developed a versatile skill set at the understaffed Triple Element Commerce Association. He was adept at designing and setting up booths.
Compared to Christine and others’ inexperience, Henry was an expert.
Initially, Henry only assisted on the side. After a while, he began giving orders, which Christine and the others were happy to follow, saving them a lot of effort.
After half a day of work, the joint booth was ready.
Looking at the bright red banner, Henry couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Bloomer, isn’t the slogan on this banner a bit… too exaggerated?”
Christine and Arlene also looked at the banner with expressions of awkwardness.
Leo proudly pointed to the banner and read aloud, “Rare Treasures-Western Xia Treasury Clearance Auction!”
“Concise and to the point. I think it’s great!” Leo added.
Little Al couldn’t help but tug on Big Al’s sleeve. “Doesn’t it feel like…”
“A snake oil sales pitch!” Big Al confirmed without hesitation.
Seeing Leo insist on using the banner, Henry had no choice but to accept it.
He could only hope that no reporters would come to take pictures when he stood under that banner and became a laughingstock.
Today was about creating buzz for the Western Xia Treasury. Leo wanted everyone to know that Spirit Moon Antiques had similar artifacts from the Western Xia Treasury before the news broke out.
Ordinary people wouldn’t rush to buy immediately. They would act after seeing the news on TV, at least a week or even a month later.
The fastest to react would be dealers who would smell the business opportunity first. When they frantically searched for goods, they would find that Spirit Moon Antiques had the largest supply.
That would be when the antique shop started making money.
Soon, Spirit Moon Antiques’ booth attracted visitors’ attention.
“Look over there! What’s that?”
“Western Xia Treasury Clearance Auction?”
“Western Xia Treasury? Have you heard of it?”
“Nope. What’s Western Xia Treasury?”
“I read about it in some unofficial history. It seems to be where Emperor Lee of Western Xia hid his treasures. Could it be true that the Western Xia Treasury has been discovered?”
“Nonsense! It’s definitely false advertising!”
“There’s no news about discovering the Western Xia Treasury. It’s just a gimmick to attract gullible people!”
“Spirit Moon Antiques? Never heard of it!”
“It’s safer to check out Bonham Auction House’s golden dragon luminous pearl. Maybe we’ll find some real treasures!”
People discussed among themselves. Some despised Spirit Moon Antiques’ marketing tactics; others were intrigued by the Western Xia Treasury. Most were just there for the spectacle.
Other booths were auctioning off small items to warm up the crowd. No one expected to outshine Bonham Auction House.
After all, that golden dragon luminous pearl was a national treasure-level antique. Such treasures usually ended up in national museums rather than private auction houses, causing quite a stir.
Ethan sat comfortably in his office at the Spring Dawn Garden venue.
He had rented the entire venue and naturally had the best spot.
In front of him was a large TV monitor displaying surveillance footage from various corners of the venue.
Quentin stood beside Ethan, praising him. “Ethan, this golden dragon luminous pearl you brought in is worth every penny!”
“Look at this crowd! If it fetches a high price, who will dare say that Langstel’s top antique house is RH Auction Company?”
Ethan’s face twitched slightly at Quentin’s words “worth every penny.”
In reality, buying that golden dragon luminous pearl had nearly drained Bonham Auction House’s annual profits. Even if it sold for a high price, it might not cover the purchase cost.
But achieving first place made it all worthwhile.
“Hey, look!” Quentin suddenly leaned closer to one of the surveillance screens showing Area E.
Ethan followed Quentin’s pointing finger.
The first thing that caught his eye was a glaring red banner that almost hurt his eyes. It read: Rare Treasures-Western Xia Treasury Clearance Auction!
