I do not feel anything

Book:Alpha's hostage Published:2024-9-23

Nebraska had to wait at least two minutes before all the alpha wolves in that room calmed down again. She had closed her eyes calmly, undisturbed. She knew this was going to be a tough fight to win because, after all, they didn’t fully trust her. She felt the weight of her husband’s gaze but she didn’t answer him. This was something she had to do whether she liked it or not for the good of everyone around her.
Layan finally put order again and she opened her eyes. In his orbs there was no sign of her backing down.
-Can we go on?- He asked, bowing his head. They had barely let her continue after she had asked for their blood. -Caesar, could you explain?-
The wolf nodded and waited for Layan’s affirmation to speak.
-The reason why the queen asks for something that crazy was because she is certain that it can work-
-You know very well that the blood of another wolf that it is not compatible will destroy her- Asula, the most adult wolf spoke from experience.
-I know, I’ve been a pack doctor for too long- I have also seen the good assimilation by her of the blood of my alpha-
-That doesn’t guarantee she’s okay with the others,- Layan growled, just thinking that Nebraska was in danger again made his blood boil.
-This time we can guarantee it- all the attention was placed on the wolf with such intensity that his shoulders shook but he continued- Before the queen was kidnapped she gave us a good portion of her blood- Hades’s face turned pale- Thanks to that we were able to study it in depth. Despite being young, his body is capable of accepting the blood of any wolf-
-That’s nonsense, it’s not possible- Litus, one of the twin alphas protested.
-My father trained me since I was a puppy and every day he made me take a minimum dose of a blood of a member of the pack- Nebraska continued -The first times were difficult but later the same body gets used to it, that’s why, when Hades rescued me and he gave me his blood I had no problems assimilating it-
-One of these days I would like to know how you were raised- Layan said seriously -And well, the other thing that interests me, the reason why you want our blood-
Nebraska kept her back straight, now the real battle began because she knew they would surely refuse
-If I take your blood I will strengthen myself and I will be able to use my ability to control the members of the pack by breaking the effect of Liam’s control, that will give you the possibility of being able to attack without having to kill innocent wolves-
-And that you’re in the middle of the battlefield, not even thinking about it,- Layan growled.
-And what guarantee do we have that you will not only control those wolves and then you will not turn against us- Leon, the other twin spoke.
-She has no such intentions,- Hades interrupted in a tone that had no claim. -If she did, I would find out- She’s my partner; I know what she’s thinking-
Silence fell in the room. If Hades said something like that there was no way to contradict him.
-You will be in the rear- Layan pronounced getting up and standing in front of her -I will allow it only because we have no alternative- she knew she could regret her decision -The best wolves of each pack will take care of you, but if something gets out of control they will take you back to the shelter and you will not be able to oppose-
Nebraska raised her head and with a serious expression nodded. Layan exchanged a look with Hades who was tense next to her. He knew that the wolf did not want those to be the words that came out of his mouth, but that alpha knew his wolf and knew the end of everything for which he did not object.
-Caesar brings a glass- Hades ordered him
Soon after, each of them bit their wrist and left some of their blood inside the container.
Hades was the second to last and Layan the last. He approached Nebraska again, who had stood up, and handed her the glass. The omega took it and looked at the contents that had turned black and its scent was strong and powerful. She swallowed hard and didn’t know why. Her husband’s hand rested on her lower back and watched over her every move.
-If you don’t want to do this, don’t force yourself,- he said in a low voice but she only smiled slightly before bringing the glass to her lips and taking three sips of the contents.
When she pulled it away, her eyes were closed and she dropped the glass, dropping it to the ground with a thud. The wolves were alert and a pulse of concern ran through them. Seconds later Nebraska slowly opened her eyelids.
-Nebraska,- Hades asked, his back sweaty from tension. -Are you okay?-
She raised her hands and studied them.
-Nothing, I don’t feel anything,- she inclined her head without understanding.
Layan looked at Hades and approached her touching her forehead and concentrating.
-I can feel my blood inside you, why is there no reaction-
-Maybe we will have to wait- Caesar approached the group -Queen, we should wait, maybe the effects will come out a little later, her body must first detect what she has taken- he explained patiently.
Nebraska nodded again and paid attention to Hades. Half an hour later they left the room after discussing the latest organizational issues. In all that time she had not felt any change in her body. Not even that the wound on his back stopped bothering her.
Absolutely nothing; was she wrong? Caesar had told her that she had to wait but time was something they didn’t have.
She was walking with her husband who had a hand on her shoulder and was talking to Layan. The other alphas had retreated in another direction. She wanted to pay attention to the conversation but a strong dizziness assailed her and she only had time to move her lips.
-Hades, everything is turning black … if her husband had not been watching her, she would have fallen on the floor in total unconsciousness.
A excruciating Pain, a searing heat that spread through her entire body. Her throat dry asking for more than water. Her throbbing insides begging to be filled. His skin felt like it was burning and she was sweating. Something inside her moved. Repairing everything that could be damaged making it stronger, more alive. Her senses became more attentive, her brain more precise.
Nebraska’s eyes snapped open and the colors saturated violently. She was perspiring aggressively, her thighs were clenched and she could only incorporate her body by looking in the direction of that half-open door.
Hades had come in for a bath after staying with his wolf for a while without any change in her state. Her eyes closed and she was totally unconscious. He had called Caesar and he had only said that it was possibly because of the mixture of blood in his body and that he had to wait. But he was going crazy with worry.
He hit the tiles cracking them. Thinking that Nebraska was leaving him because of his bad decision was something he couldn’t live with. She had become an essential part of his life, and he had fallen in love like he never thought he would.
Fingers suddenly ran down his back followed by lips. Hades turned suddenly in surprise that he hadn’t noticed that someone had gotten so close and he hadn’t detected it. To his surprise his wolf was in front of him. Her clothes wet from the shower and her hair messy. But something was wrong.
Hades then smelled it. A strong, sweet scent that could bring him to his knees; and grew stronger as she reached over and pushed him against the shower wall making him groan at the not-so-soft impact. Approaching, the omega grabbed him by the nape, claiming his lips with a violence that was not her own.
The alpha trembled at his touch. Because it was never expected to happen so fast and he didn’t know what it was because of the blood he had taken.
He surrounded the body of the omega and attracted her to him, working with her ecstatic and happy body even knowing that it was not the moment, but…
Nebraska was in heat.
