Nebraska stared blankly from Layan to the wolf and back with an incredulous face.
-Are you playing with me? – The wolf raised an eyebrow at the high volume of her voice- If they told me that she had disappeared-
Layan snorted and shrugged his shoulders disinterestedly.
-How do you think my reputation would be if the news that my sister went crazy came to light-
-You’re not being sincere- Nebraska felt that something else was hiding behind those words. Behind that armor that he had built, that wolf harbored a truth that he did not want to reveal. Still, he didn’t think he would be able to help her at this point.
The wolves when they reached madness had only one option, to be annihilated by someone stronger, it was almost always the alpha who was assigned this task. The only ones who could both come back from madness or help others were the omegas, one as strong as her.
The wolf growled again and began to advance towards them.
-I’ll leave it in your hands- he squeezed his shoulder and whispered in his ear- I hope good results-
Nebraska swallowed and turned his face to animal. She knew she had turned pale. One wrong step and she could die, the limiting wolf was not present with the madness and it would shut its mouth and tear everything in front of it. She had experienced it firsthand.
She advanced cautiously towards the wolf and concentrated, letting out a slight scent directed at the animal, but it did not stop. Hesitating and alert, she knelt and focused her attention more on the beast. She began to say reassuring words. She felt her slow down and stagger. It seemed to be working. Even though she had been able to bring back the males of her pack, they had not been insane that long, quite the opposite of this Leila.
-Come- she called her, he would need to use the contact to enter his consciousness- Come-
The wolf walked a few steps and suddenly raised her head. Nebraska didn’t have time to react. The animal had moved very fast and was now wrapping its teeth around the omega’s forearm.
Nebraska let out a groan of pain as she felt the flesh break down to the bone and the aggressor shaking tore the skin further. In the middle of the pain she raised her leg and managed to hit the animal’s abdomen and throw it into a corner. His attempt to calm her hadn’t worked.
-Hell- she heard Layan run towards her and step forward.
The door was flung open and a tall man with military-cut blond hair appeared frowning.
-Kei, get her out of here- his alpha yelled at him as he growled at the animal that got back to its feet to attack, although its movements had slowed down.
For a moment Nebraska thought he saw a change in the brightness that came out of her eyes before being carried as if it weighed nothing and removed from the place. This Kei took her to the room where she had first woken up and putting her on the bed, he stood in front of her without doing anything else. The omega pressed her lips together with a cry of pain to move her torn arm and that in its current state it would take some time to recover. She turned his face sideways looking for something to contain the bleeding without much success, she did not know anything about that place and the further away the objects were, the more diffuse they became.
-Can you get me some cloth? – she asked kindly- I have to stop the bleeding-
-Alpha Layan just ordered me to get you out of there-
Really. I could not believe it. Another guy like Siran. One was more than enough. It did not matter. She would look for it herself. She dragged his hand over the sheet that covered the bed until he found one folded in the corner, took it and found it was heavy.
-Could you at least help me cut out a piece of this? If I continue like this I will die and I don’t think your alpha likes that – if you had to play dirty, you would play dirty.
The wolf lowered his gaze and, tightening his eyebrows, snatched the cloth, then placed a considerable piece in his hand. Nebraska with difficulty wrapped it around her arm and squeezed, letting out a groan of pain and swaying sitting up, having to hold on. In all that time the wolf just looked at her.
-Do you like to see people suffer?- Nebraska began to get annoyed, you couldn’t have so little tact to have someone hurt in front of you and hardly help him.
-Kei, get out- the door opened and Layan appeared without a shirt and with his pants badly put on, it seemed that he had half dressed on the way.
The wolf nodded and left the room as quickly as he received the order.
-It’s my beta, he doesn’t talk much with strangers-
-Yes, I already realized- Nebraska said with irony and then clicked his tongue when his arm throbbed again- Damn me and the wounds, they haunt me-
Layan walked over to her and grabbed her elbow, lifting the cock wrapped in the already heavily stained cloth. Without listening to the protests of the wolf he withdrew it and stared at the bitten and bleeding skin.
-Let go of Layan, I’m not feeling well-the lack of blood was already affecting her.
The wolf ignored his ears and pushed her with his free hand until she fell onto the bed with barely any strength.
-What are you doing?- His structured and defined body leaned towards her.
Layan ripped the cloth where the wound was with his teeth.
-Shut up, I’ll give you a service that is a privilege, but if you move it will hurt more-
-What do you mean?- He tensed, remembering what wolves did when there was a defenseless woman and they wore little clothes.
But she couldn’t continue as she felt Layan’s tongue on her bruised skin and she heard herself cry out in both surprise and pain. The wolf climbed on top of her without recharging his weight and continued his journey through each wound. Nebraska tried to hold still, but the lashes of pain multiplied with each movement of the alpha.
-Layan- she tried to call him to stop but he ignored her.
Just as omegas had their surprises, he also harbored more than one secret, one of them was the ability to quickly heal wounds from his saliva. Although this was always a tortuous process for the patient and could not be interrupted if he wanted a complete cure. His chest clenched when he heard her sob. He knew he owed her, it was hurting like hell but he hoped she would bear it, he couldn’t leave her like this and even less now, he needed her.
When the seventh minute was up, Nebraska fell faintly on the bed, her breath barely coming out of her lungs and her face was wet from the tears that had long since stopped running. Layan stood up and watched her for a few minutes, running his hand across her forehead, brushing away the hair that had stuck to it. He was satisfied with his work. The new skin was around his arm and within hours the scars would disappear.
He sat down next to her and patted her thigh.
-For today I will let you rest, tomorrow we will return to see my sister again- he got up but the voice of Nebraska stopped him.
-You hid your sister so they wouldn’t kill her- she sounded tired, even so her statement did not lose validity- Even if it was against the law, you weren’t innocent either-
-I do not know if it is good that you are so intelligent Nebraska- he snorted walking towards the door- I am an important member of the Council, nothing can tarnish my image, my sister went mad when her husband betrayed her and tried to kill her. I could only lock it up and hide it – he grabbed the edge of the door before closing it- Can you imagine what it feels like to have to murder your own blood-
