The frenzied laugh of the wolf invaded the dining room annoyingly. Everyone’s attention was focused on those two females who were facing each other. More than one had risen from their seats to intervene. Despite having new members and adapting, they had specific orders from Hades not to attack any of them. There was always someone who played the goat foolishly and ignored the word of the alpha. That one, of course, ended up being punished. And this would not be an option.
In the first, that wolf was threatening and insulting a defenseless cub, a fatal mistake, in the second she was messing with the one who had been the queen of the gray pack and the new protege of the alpha. Like Sara, picking on her or her children meant offending Hades himself.
But she was overlooking all that. Its orbs had turned golden. In the middle of the transformation and forgetting all warning she launched herself against Nebraska, in a jump waving her arms.
Siran walked fast to intercept her but his presence was not necessary, Nebraska had done its specialty, moving faster than average. Before everyone could react, the queen had the wolf by the nape of her neck against the floor and held her still with one knee on her back.
-Easy- she whispered, slurring her words and narrowing her eyes. A sweet smell enveloped the wolf and she was calming down before everyone’s gaze until she was lying on the ground barely moving in her human aspect.
Layan couldn’t help getting up from his seat. He was very intuitive and although many did not understand what had just happened, he did. He gritted his teeth in a crooked smile, planning his future moves.
Nebraska got up off her near opponent and took two steps back. The woman got up from the floor and sat looking sideways as if she were in a nebula until she was back in focus and smirked.
Someone approached her and helped her to her feet, covering her.
-What did you do to her?- Asked the wolf, concerned, not so much about the young woman’s condition but because of what had just happened -What are you?-
-Watch your tone- Hades’s voice broke in, bristling the blood of everyone present. His serious appearance and not at all pleased with what he witnessed was more than evident.
He walked among the wolves that parted in his path and bowed their heads in respect. He stopped next to Nebraska and with one arm he surrounded her waist possessively and brought his lips to her neck leaving an ephemeral but marked kiss. The omega didn’t move, just tilted her head to give him access. The scent of him told her not to reply.
-She- he relaxed his frown- In a little while she will be the queen of the silver herd-
A collective exclamation. Murmurs followed. Hades waited for everyone to get the message well until he raised his hand achieving total silence.
-So whoever dares to offend her or any of her close ones, will be in serious trouble- she smiled, but of those smiles that chills you to the soul- And by the way take her where you know, I don’t like indiscipline- his tone had changed for now.
The wolf nodded and dragged the woman out of the dining room. Nebraska felt herself being pulled by Hades’s arm.
-Are you okay? – He asked in her ear and she just shook her head, he smiled in approval -Also, you look beautiful today, I already understand why that wolf jumped on you, I could do the same-
Nebraska pursed her lips at the risque words coming from the alpha.
-Everyone keep eating, it would be a shame to waste the feast- the alpha had shifted his attention and the others took heed.
He led her to the table, leaving him in the chair and he sat down at his post.
-Ma, is it true what you say?- Nicolas whispered to her.
She affirm with her head.
-Then I’ll give you the details- Hades replied before swallowing the first piece of meat- Secrets on the table is rude-
Nicolas straightened in his seat and adopted a good posture. If his mother joined the silver herd as his queen it meant that she would bond with Hades so this would be her new “father”. Replicating him, knowing his character and more now that he seemed annoyed, was not a good idea.

Hades grunted as he felt the door rattle and smell behind it.
-Layan- he said when the wolf entered and sat comfortably on the velvet sofa that accompanied the office furniture.
-You have an interesting specimen as a fiancee-
The alpha’s body tensed and he glared at him.
-Don’t go near him-
-Do you think I’m capable of all, alpha? But you have to admit that there are details that you left out in our second meeting. It was very convenient that she was not marked by Rufoc, that her marriage was annulled and that he was sentenced to perish on the next full moon. But the part about her being able to subdue wolves, you didn’t mention that-
-No need to- Hades got up from his seat and approached- Nebraska is an omega for which it has different powers from us, that’s no secret-
-You omitted that it was so strong-
-I didn’t think it was convenient. She is mine now and I decide that you have to know about her and not – He had to be careful what he talked about with Layan and not go into detail about what her abilities consisted of.
He was a dangerous alpha and used to getting everything he wanted.
-Okay- to his surprise he just patted his thigh and stood up with a relaxed smile- It was a good talk. I will stay for about three days until the execution of Rudoc to verify that everything goes well. I hope your best hospitality- he turned and left Hades clenching his fists until the bones cracked.
Siran entered shortly after to find him in the same spot.
-Problems again with Alpha Layan?
-And more than you can imagine. Order Leoxi not to lose sight of Nebraska and her puppies, I don’t want any unforeseen-
-As ordered alpha, but there is someone who wants to talk to you-
A small brown head with two large purplish eyes appeared behind the beta. Hades leaned toward her and caressed her crown with a half smile, relaxing the muscles of his face.
-Do you want something Catalina?
-Alfa, I want to ask you something- she rubbed her fingers nervous- Don’t marry my mom-
