Hades couldn’t believe it
She launched. Without thinking. Not knowing where she was.
He returned so quickly to his human form that it even hurt. He ran to the edge of the balcony looking down and seeing the wolf fall from the second floor, until she fell on the first, on the carpet that must have cushioned the fall a bit. He was grateful for the first time that his mansion only had two floors or she could have killed herself if it was on a higher one.
Anyway, the fall had been brutal.
He did not know which had hurt more, the shock of seeing her jump into the void or the total rejection of him. Not that he was a womanizer, nor did he seek adventures from here and there, but the few that had been in his arms had later accompanied him to his bed.
He saw her get up slowly as if nothing had happened and run in any direction to get out of that place, something she would not achieve. In the first, for the security of the mansion and, in the second, she could not see the exit. It was already a miracle that she could have escaped from the room, even in her wild state she was very intelligent, he could not imagine in all her senses.
He turned to his beta and ordered them to surround her, but not harm her. And following her path, he threw himself over the edge of the balcony, landing on both legs effortlessly and walking slowly towards the animal.
The wolf had no idea where she was, it didn’t seem to be her pack’s mansion, she couldn’t make out practically anything. The faint smells were diverse, without being able to recognize any and that of her children had disappeared. She was terrified, upset, she wanted to go out, run, be free, reunite with her family, but all that vanished when she felt the smell of that alpha who tried to subdue her, getting closer and closer.
And not only his, that of several wolves was surrounding her. She couldn’t guess how many. She barely noticed how far away they were. Her body tensed, making the wounds and bones she knew had been injured hurting more than her animal instincts could suppress. She took one step back, two. She put her tail between her legs, ruffled the hair on her back and growled. She felt in danger and at least she would have to fight even if her strength left her.
-Don’t attack her- ordered the alpha when he saw her reaction and the response of the 8 wolves that surrounded her.
She seemed smaller even in that circle around her of adults who had more than one head out of her and yet she was still able to defy what threatened her. How much must she have suffered to act like this? Definitely, he would personally kill Rudoc, with his bare hands. A female should show all her splendor, not hide behind her snarls.
Hades took a few steps towards her and felt her enrage even more. The red in her eyes refused to give way and in that condition he would not be able to make her see reason.
Becoming a wolf wasn’t an option either, it would only make things worse. At that point, after two days without drinking his blood should be, although better, not recovered. But the figure before him, despite the injuries, sure bones fractured from the fall and lack of food only gave him to understand that his blood had had more of an effect on her than they had anticipated. Regenerating beyond imagination.
-Alfa- one of the men behind him called him alerting him.
The atmosphere was tense and she was sure she would be killed if it weren’t for her order. A wolf out of control could even destroy a cub without feeling remorse, so they had to be taken into captivity looking for an improvement, and if this did not come in a lax of time, the Council destined its end. Losing control was not something that happened frequently, but there were always situations that could put a wolf on the brink of sanity.
Hades suddenly turned his face at the sound of footsteps running in his direction and did not stop him. Perhaps this was the light at the end of the tunnel. The wolf did not know how long she was standing there, surrounded by hostility, when she felt a sweet smell approaching. Her body relaxed completely and she lowered his ears, lifting her nose trying to smell more intensely.
Nicolas passed by the alpha’s side without looking at him and pushing aside a wolf that was cutting his way. His attention was focused on that animal that seemed scared and still waiting for him. He approached stealthily.
The wolf managed to catch where the scent was coming from and also approached. He was one of them. One of her cubs. He was there for her. He had come looking for her and this time there were no chains or locks imposed between them. The red haze dispersed immediately, her consciousness was returning to her allowing her to feel happy about the reunion forgetting what surrounded her.
A few fingers brushed the tip of her nose gingerly and she licked them pleased allowing him to touch her more. The hand moved to her neck and gently felt it, to give way to arms that drew her to a sobbing chest.
She couldn’t be happier.
I was no longer alone.
There would be no more darkness.
Now she could rest easy.
She closed her eyes and let her body fall limp on his son’s thighs.
