Siran could only react in one way when he saw his alpha on the ground with blood gushing from his neck, turn into a huge sand-colored wolf, grab the attacking wolf by the back, also tearing the skin and throw him with all his might against the wall contrary. He didn’t care who it was, he didn’t care about the consequences, he only knew that his alpha had been attacked and that was unforgivable.
After a loud thump against the furniture in the wall and letting out a screech of pain, Siran saw the wolf rise with difficulty but firmly. Her mouth was bubbling and her eyes were a powerful, pupil-free crimson. She was out of control, she shook her head looking for the threat guided by the slight instinct that was left latent, she was totally dominated by her wild side and that was dangerous.
Siran backed away quickly as two wolves dragged Hades out and closed the door before feeling the animal’s body crash hard against the wood.
One second of silence.
Two, when she lunged again trying to break the door, which was made of three-inch mahogany, so she couldn’t get out and only hurt herself.
He felt it hit three more times until he felt a ragged howl that made him shudder. What was in there was not simply the injured girl they had rescued, it was an animal in search of freedom, thirsty for blood.
He slipped the latch, making sure it was securely locked, and knelt beside his alpha with a slight shudder, expecting the worst.
Hades was anything but weak, but the bite had been true, severing crucial veins, nerves, and arteries. The blood had stopped gushing wildly, yet one of the men was pressing a part of his, own torn shirt over the wound preventing further bleeding. The other insurance had gone to find the doctor. Everyone in the pack was prepared for any situation and knew how to react.
Siran watched his alpha’s pale face and frown. Everything had been very fast. They had barely turned and the teeth were already there, on the jugular. He clenched his fists. Was that how they paid him, after all they did? Rage stirred inside him.
In the distance he heard a pair of feet running towards them. He smelled the air, a bad time for them to be there. Nicolas and Adan ran in the direction of where that heartrending howl was coming from. They had left Noa with Catalina, and Rodrigo knew where, he was a world apart and they had never gotten along to play happy family now.
The scene they found when they stopped a few meters made them back up.
-What happened?- Alan grabbed his older brother’s arm.
-What happened? – Siran tried to take a deep breath clenching his teeth so much that they hurt -That his supposed mother just attacked our alpha-
He got up and walked over to them. His height of 1. 80m may rival that of Nicolas but 300 years of accumulated experience, more than 120 of them being second in command made both cubs tremble. He stopped in front of them clutching the hem of his pants so as not to put his hands in the wrong place and do something he regretted later.
Two men from the mansion guard appeared upon hearing the commotion and kept their distance from the trio, albeit moving closer to the alpha to learn of their situation. Siran was a reasonable beta, wise, educated, but more violent than his superior when the situation warranted it.
Another knock on the door and the wood of the frame splintered, drawing everyone’s attention.
-Is our mother there?- Adan ignored the intimidating man before him and walked to the door.
-Quiet puppy- Siran showed his teeth -Not a step more-
-Why can’t we see our mother? Is there right? Hades tried to do something to her? – Nicholas asked raising his voice when his body was lifted and embedded against the wall, his feet not touching the ground and a claw around his neck.
Adan lunged at the wolf to defend his familiar but was taken from behind and kneeling on the ground while one hand pinned his head against the hard floor.
-I will just repeat it and I hope to be very clear- Siran spoke slowly, barely in a whisper that made the backs of those present bristle- The only reason I have not killed the woman inside is because my alpha wants her for his interests, because for me it is intolerable for someone to touch only one of his hair, so it would be better if you go back to your room and stay very still if you do not want to be the ones to take the place. I have too many problems, to also deal with foreign puppies running throughout the mission, and, not a word about what happened here- he brought his face close to Nicolas who was frowning annoyed but could not defend himself as he was almost drowning- Or I will tear away each of your tongues – he released it and threw it to the side of his brother.
Another knock on the door and the wall suffered. She was hitting harder and harder. Hades’s blood was within the she-wolf’s system, it made her strong, but at that rate and in the actual condition of her body she wouldn’t hold out for long. The beta didn’t really care. His interest was only in the man who struggled slowly regenerating the wound on his neck.
-You two- he pointed to the newly arrived guards -Take them away and lock them in their rooms. They will only be limited to giving food. Put guards at each door of them and if I find out that they left or escaped they will suffer consequences-
The wolves nodded and dragged by the arms they carried away a cub and a cub who turned and refused to walk, cursing. Caesar came running with heavy breathing and fell to the ground, examining the wound with majestic speed.
-Quick, carry him to his room- the one who had gone to look for him, plus the one who cared for the alpha’s body, grabbed him, held him as carefully as possible and took him away. Cesar looked at the beta and a knock on the door next to him made him jump.
-Have she lost control?- He asked as if he knew that would happen.
-And she attacked the alpha, I would have preferred that it was not compatible and would have died-
The doctor snapped his teeth.
-Put guards so that the wolf does not go out, later we will deal with her, first I have to attend to Hades-
-As if I care what happens to her. She’s lucky that my alpha didn’t die because it would destroy her completely-
Cesar sighed and came over touching her shoulder. His beta was being strangely irrational.
-Siran, she was raped, tortured, locked up for 50 years by her husband who is an alpha, she can barely smell, see or hear, how do you think he would react when she opened her eyes and saw herself in an unknown place with an alpha next to him Siran growled -I’m not defending her, but put yourself in her place. How would you have reacted, my wise beta? –
