After Brennen finished speaking, another old doctor chimed in, “Young man, if you are a disciple taught by Seung Kim, your skills must be quite good. This concerns the reputation of traditional Atrarian doctors. Just watch.”
“Yes, young man, we understand your desire to teach these arrogant Koreans a lesson, but it’s an important fight. Let Master Joshua handle it.”
In this age of seniority and hierarchy, the young Leo was naturally not favored by traditional doctors and miracle workers.
Joshua smiled gently at Leo and said, “Thank you for your kindness. I will personally handle today’s challenge.”
Jay Park crossed his arms and looked Joshua up and down with disdain. “Aren’t you known as the Medicine King of South Mountain? Do you know acupuncture?”
“Whether I know it or not, you’ll find out soon enough,” Joshua replied with a hint of pride.
Joshua came from an old and well-known family of traditional medicine. He started learning traditional medicine at the age of three and could use acupuncture to treat people by the age of seven. He was considered exceptionally talented in the field.
While Joshua wouldn’t claim his acupuncture skills were among the best in the country, he was confident he could handle two young Koreans without any problem.
The students were thrilled to see the Medicine King of South Mountain personally take on these two shameless Koreans and cheered for Joshua.
Joshua raised his hand to quiet the students. Once they settled down, he turned to Jay Park and asked, “How do you want to compete?”
Jay Park glanced at Sang Kwon beside him, who understood and took a small knife from his pocket, handing it to Jay Park.
“What are you doing?” Ty Chan’s face changed when he saw them take out a knife.
Jay Park chuckled and handed the small knife to Joshua. “Check this knife for any issues, like if it’s coated with any substance.”
Joshua didn’t understand what Jay Park intended but took the knife and examined it carefully. “There’s no substance on it. What do you want to do?”
Jay Park took back the knife without answering Joshua’s question and asked, “Does anyone have acupuncture needles?”
“I do!” An old traditional Atrarian doctor, who had the habit of carrying a needle pouch, raised his hand and handed over his needle pouch.
Jay Park turned and handed the knife to Sang Kwon. Without hesitation, Sang Kwon made a cut on his left palm.
Bright red blood immediately dripped from Sang Kwon’s hand onto the ground.
The crowd gasped in shock, and the special guests on stage looked astonished, not understanding what the two Koreans were doing.
Sang Kwon extended his bleeding hand, and Jay Park squinted his eyes, smiling at Joshua. “Medicine King, please use your miraculous acupuncture skills to stop my companion’s bleeding.”
At these words, the faces of famous traditional Atrarian doctors, including Brennen, changed again.
The students were also puzzled. Acupuncture to stop bleeding? How could that be possible? These two Koreans must be joking.
After a brief silence, the students grew restless again, expressing their dissatisfaction.
“Acupuncture can’t stop bleeding. These Koreans must be crazy!”
“Stopping bleeding with acupuncture is unheard of. It’s obviously impossible. They’re doing this on purpose.”
“This competition is meaningless. Instead of letting them waste our time here, we should just kick them out!”
Hearing the students’ indignant words, Leo felt a bit surprised. Acupuncture to stop bleeding had long been lost in traditional medicine. Jay Park and Sang Kwon must have planned this in advance.
Leo had once used acupuncture to stop bleeding during a class at Langstel Traditional Medicine University to impress Monica from the United States Medical Research Society.
He never expected that today at the Traditional Medicine University of the capital, Koreans would use acupuncture to stop bleeding to embarrass Joshua and other traditional Atrarian doctors.
Leo looked at Joshua, doubting he knew this lost skill of stopping bleeding with acupuncture.
Joshua was initially stunned but then realized Jay Park was deliberately making things difficult. He calmly smiled and said, “Mr. Park, while acupuncture in traditional medicine has many miraculous aspects, using medication is more effective and quicker for treating external bleeding.”
Jay Park sneered, “I said we are competing in acupuncture, not traditional medicine! It seems you don’t know the skill of stopping bleeding with acupuncture. This proves that Atraria’s acupuncture indeed originated from our Korean Kingdom.”
Joshua’s eyelid twitched as he coldly said, “Mr. Park, stopping bleeding with acupuncture is impossible. Your behavior is no different from that of a rogue!”
“You Koreans lack basic traditional medicine knowledge. I’ve never heard of using acupuncture to stop bleeding!”
“Do you even understand acupuncture? The true purpose of Atraria’s orthodox acupuncture is to unblock meridians, balance yin and yang, and support health by eliminating evil influences-not to treat external bleeding!”
“Learning a bit of traditional medicine doesn’t qualify you to make a fool of yourself here. It’s laughable and pathetic!”
Despite the ridicule from everyone, Jay Park remained calm and smiled. “It’s not that acupuncture can’t stop bleeding; it’s that you traditional Atrarian doctors can’t do it.”
“In other words, traditional Atrarian doctors haven’t fully learned from Korean Medicine. Otherwise, why can my master use acupuncture to stop bleeding and even teach me this skill?”
An old traditional Atrarian doctor beside Leo scoffed. “Anyone can boast. Show us if you can really stop bleeding with acupuncture!”
“Mr. Park, since you claim to know how to stop bleeding with acupuncture, let’s see it,” Joshua said, not believing Jay Park could do it.
Jay Park had been waiting for this moment. He smiled smugly and said, “Watch closely. I’ll show you what real acupuncture is!”
At this point, Leo couldn’t help but smile wryly and sit back down. He knew Joshua and other renowned doctors were about to be embarrassed by these two Koreans.
Jay Park stepped forward, took the needle pouch from the table, selected two silver needles from it, and approached Sang Kwon. He inserted one needle into each of two acupoints on Sang Kwon’s left arm.
Leo observed Jay Park’s steady and precise technique; he indeed had some skill.
Soon Jay Park finished needling and clapped his hands proudly. “Done!”
Sang Kwon extended his left hand and opened his palm to show Joshua and others.
Sang Kwon’s left palm had a deep cut from the knife, which looked quite alarming.
Amazingly, the wound that had been bleeding profusely just moments ago had now stopped bleeding entirely.
This scene left many famous doctors astonished. They stood up from their seats to examine Sang Kwon’s wound closely.
