Chris Shelby’s voice exploded in everyone’s ears, leaving them all stunned. Going to the northern border battlefield was something they had never considered. After all, the East Coast was far too distant from the northern border. At that moment, Chris Shelby glanced at everyone and said calmly, “I’ll give you all three minutes to think it over. If anyone chooses to give up, say it now. If no objections are raised, that means you agree!”
“I must remind you, once you head to the northern border battlefield, you can’t choose to leave midway. Anyone who does will be considered a deserter and will be executed without mercy! This trip might lead to death, but if you survive and return, I can assure you, you will all become practitioners!”
As his words fell, all the East Coast Guards murmured among themselves. Then, Chris Shelby stopped speaking. After all, this was a matter of life and death, and whether to go or not was a personal choice. Although Chris Shelby was the king of the East Coast, he wouldn’t force anyone to march to their death.
“I’m going!” one shouted.
“I’m also going!” another added.
“We’re all going!” echoed others.
Moments later, all the East Coast Guards shouted in unison. Not a single one wanted to give up; none wanted to leave the East Coast Guards. From the moment they joined, their fates had been tied to the East Coast. This journey to the northern border was a chance to enhance their personal strength. Once they became powerful, upon their return, they could better protect the East Coast.
Seeing that no one had backed out, Chris Shelby nodded in satisfaction and said, “Since you’ve chosen to go, I hope each of you survives. When you return, you will be the guardians of the East Coast!”
Hearing this, every East Coast Guard felt a surge of emotion. Thus, a legend of the battlefield was born. When these East Coast Guards entered the northern border, they would unleash a storm of blood and violence, striking terror into the heart of the enemy and making any nation coveting the land of Amerosia tremble.
As night gradually fell, a hundred thousand East Coast Guards were ready at the dock. Chris Shelby said to Tiger, “Tiger, this mission to the border is extremely dangerous, and these East Coast Guards are untested in real combat. Be careful.”
Tiger nodded vigorously and replied, “Boss, rest assured, I won’t let you down!”
Chris Shelby, with a stern face, told him, “Tiger, remember, I want every single one of you to come back alive to the East Coast!”
“Yes, I understand!” Tiger responded.
As their conversation ended, a warship appeared on the horizon. To send the East Coast Guards to the northern border, Chris Shelby had personally arranged this warship. Soon, under Tiger’s leadership, all the East Coast Guards began boarding.
Before leaving, Tiger turned to Chris Shelby and said with a smile, “Boss, I’ve already spoken to Phoenix. In my absence, he will serve by your side.”
“Good,” Chris Shelby nodded and responded, “Safe travels, Tiger!”
With a thunderous roar, the warship started moving and soon vanished into the vast sea.
Watching Tiger and the East Coast Guards disappear, Chris Shelby felt a complex mix of emotions. No one knew better than him how perilous the northern battlefield was. Surviving there depended not only on strength but also on luck. With a hundred thousand East Coast Guards heading to the northern border, it was uncertain how many would return alive.
After Tiger and the hundred thousand East Coast Guards left the East Coast, Chris Shelby was noticeably somber for several days, constantly worried about the brave men who had gone to the battlefield.
Chris Shelby knew that if the East Coast Guards were to grow, they must endure this baptism of sweat and blood. It took several days for his mood to slightly improve. One day, he drove to pick up Hope from school. Since there was still some time before school ended, he waited by the roadside with a cigarette in his mouth. Suddenly, a sports car roared by.
Due to the rain the previous day, there was a puddle next to where Chris Shelby stood. As the sports car sped past the puddle, a splash of muddy water drenched him completely. With the cigarette still in his mouth, mud dripped down his hair, and his expression turned steely. Chris Shelby was certain the driver had done it on purpose. The road was wide, yet the driver had chosen to drive right by him-Chris Shelby couldn’t believe it was an accident.
Then, the sports car stopped. Chris Shelby turned to look and saw a red Ferrari. Such a car would cost at least a few million dollars. Clearly, the driver was wealthy! However, wealthy or not, Chris Shelby wasn’t going to let someone who splashed him with mud get away with it. Fuming, he approached the car, and as he did, the driver rolled down the window to reveal a young woman’s face.
She appeared to be around eighteen, very pretty, with a ponytail and big, charming eyes. Seeing Chris Shelby’s furious approach, she immediately looked pitiful and said, “I’m sorry, sir!” Initially, Chris Shelby wanted to explode in anger, but seeing her apologize, and considering she was just a young girl, he decided not to argue. He waved his hand and said, “Let it go this time, but remember to be more careful driving next time. Not everyone is as patient as I am!”
Pouting, the girl said, “I’m really sorry, sir-it wasn’t intentional… I mean, it was. If you’re upset, come and hit me if you can!”
“I…” Chris Shelby was stunned. Such a brazen girl, asking for a fight? “Hehehe!” Seeing Chris Shelby’s stunned expression, the girl laughed triumphantly. Chris Shelby’s face darkened.
Just as Chris Shelby was about to let loose his anger, the girl suddenly floored the accelerator. The car roared away quickly. Watching her disappearing figure, Chris Shelby was left speechless. Are all young women so audacious these days? “Sigh,” he shook his head, deciding to chalk it up to bad luck.
Just as Chris Shelby turned around, the girl drove back in the sports car. Splush! Once again, she doused him with another wave of muddy water. She rolled down the window, laughing loudly at Chris Shelby, “I’m sorry, sir! If there’s anything wrong, come and hit me if you can!”
As Chris Shelby was about to explode in rage, the girl drove off again. “I… damn it!” At that moment, Chris Shelby was utterly speechless. Who raised this ill-mannered kid? “Come and hit me if you can!” But what Chris Shelby didn’t expect was for the girl to come back a third time. Could he still tolerate this? If he could, then he wasn’t Primus, he was a ninja!
With a roar, Chris Shelby leaped high into the air. In an instant, he soared dozens of meters and landed right in front of the sports car.
