Lance’s mouth immediately bled.
“Who are you calling a shrew?”
“Who are you calling a slut?”
Punch after punch landed mercilessly on Lance’s face and head.
For the first time in years, everyone saw such a violent side of Nelson.
This was a real beating, with no holding back. Despite the brutality, there was a certain grace to his movements.
Lance had no power to fight back.
Semaj rushed over at the sound, and seeing his son through the crowd, his face turned pale, his legs went weak. What kind of person was Nelson? Had Lance gone mad?
He didn’t dare to intervene…
Nelson vented years of pent-up rage, and by the end, Lance was almost unrecognizable. Only then did Nelson stop. Lance, terrified, collapsed on the ground, clinging to Nelson’s pant leg, “I was wrong, Mr. Oconnor, I was wrong, I really was…”
It was a pathetic sight.
Gone was the arrogance he had shown towards Callie.
Semaj looked away. Although he didn’t know what relationship that woman had with Nelson, seeing Nelson disregard his own image at the annual meeting, he thought that the Lee family was truly ruined by this wastrel.
Cora arrived, stunned and unsure of what had happened. She was shocked that Nelson had fought at the annual meeting for Callie!
He had lost his mind!
“Cora.” Nelson’s face showed deep disdain as he stopped his assault.
Cora swallowed hard and hurried forward.
“Contact a doctor immediately and have him wait for me.”
Everyone watching was shocked. They hadn’t expected the dignified Mr. Oconnor to get so angry over a woman.
It made sense though; after all, she was an employee of Oconnor Group and the director of the design department. Such vile behavior warranted action to ensure her safety.
But with so many people present, why did Nelson personally step in?
At the edge of the crowd, several elderly men exchanged glances. Their eyes held not only apprehension but also some confusion and a hint of excitement at having seen a flaw.
They knew this woman was not simple.
Amidst the chaos, Nelson only cared about Callie. He bent down to pick her up, holding her tightly as he walked through the crowd. Some heard him say in a voice warm to the bone, “Don’t be afraid, don’t think about anything. I’ll take you home.”
I’ll take you home.
On New Year’s Eve, bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, the whole nation celebrated.
In the entire Oconnor Group building, apart from the commotion on that floor, the rest of the floors were still bustling with activity, unaware of what had happened.
Alayah was still mingling with various men, trying to secure her future. Just then, several strong bodyguards came in and took her away, throwing her out of Oconnor Group. “Don’t make us call the police!”
Her dream of stardom ended there.
Cora stayed behind to clean up the mess caused by that reckless Lance.
Semaj almost knelt down to plead for mercy. Cora picked up a glass of wine and smashed it on the ground as if venting something, “Your son is so bold; what’s the use of pleading with me!”
His legs gave out.
-Bang.
A loud noise came from ahead; Nelson slammed on the brakes.
Callie, who had been resting in the passenger seat, opened her eyes, her face still as pale as paper.
The bodyguards leading the way quickly got out to check and then reported back, “There was an accident ahead; the police are on their way.”
Nelson silently signaled them to retreat.
He turned on the car light and checked Callie’s face in that moment of pause, asking gently, “Are you okay?”
