“Gosh, that was exciting!” Olive squealed loudly as they settled down in the section. Wayne smirked at her and arranged her hair that a few people might have managed to touch.
“Seems they like you,” he replied in his deep voice.
“Well, yes. Now let’s hope it continues with that plan of yours,” she stated and hit him playfully against the chest. He held her waist and looked down into her green eyes.
“It’s better for them to hear it from us than from them. Trust me, babe,” he cooed lovingly.
“Yeah, yeah. I trust you all right,” she rolled her eyes and smiled.
“So what are you getting me?” she asked. He looked around the large room and twitched his lips as if he was surveying the things and thinking.
He looked at the female security guard standing with two male guards.
“Stay with her and guard her while she shops. I’ll be right back,” he ordered. Olive’s face turned into a frown.
“What? Where are you going?” she asked with worry.
“Chill baby. I’ll be right back,” he stated and kissed her on her forehead.
“Take whatever you want. We’ll be taking them to Aspen City,” he said again and began to walk away. The two male guards followed him and Olive crossed her arms as she watched him disappear through the door. She sighed after he had left and turned around to see the section.
“What is it you want to buy, ma’am? I’ll lead you through it,” the mall attendant responsible for the VIP section stated. She was a woman in her early forties and was dressed formally, in a suit.
“I… Uhm, can I see your shoes section, please?”
“Yes, ma’am. It’s this way. Follow me, please,” she gestured towards the direction with her hands and Olive nodded and began to follow her. The female security guard also followed behind them. The shoe section was quite small compared to the ones she had seen before in malls. It was in a circular room and were all placed on shoe racks. However, everyone of them were in their boxes. Olive had never been to a VIP section of a mall so she didn’t understand why they didn’t display the shoes like regular malls did.
“We have an amazing shoe collection, ma’am. The finest from all over the world. Our shoes not only come from top agencies in our world, but also from the human world,” the attendant explained with pride.
“Wow,” Olive muttered as she stood in front of a rack. What was with Balendin Pack and having circular rooms though?
Olive wanted to ask how she could see the shoes inside the box, but again, that would make her look naive and poor.
“Oops, my bad. I haven’t turned on the display,” the attendant gasped and walked to the wall to press a white button. Screens popped up above every shoe box on the wall, with the sample of the shoes revolving around for display. Olive sighed in relief. No more making a fool of herself.
“Wow,” she muttered again as she walked by slowly, gazing at all the shoes.
“This is the unisex shoe section. I can shoe you the feminine and masculine sections if you want,” the attendant stated.
Olive nodded and stood in front of the display of a black boot. It was very high and firm, looked really solid and strong.
“How many sizes for this?” she asked.
“All sizes available, ma’am.”
“Well, I’d like to get this. One for me and one for the Alpha,” she said and gave her her shoe size. But she didn’t know Wayne’s shoe size. It would be embarrassing not to know the size of her mate so she roughly guessed it. If it didn’t fit him, then she could order his proper size. Olive exhaled as she rubbed her forehead. She had been living with Wayne for over a month and two weeks, yet she didn’t know his shoe size.
‘Shame on you,’ her wolf sniggered at her. Olive bit the insides of her cheek to stop herself from nagging at her wolf aloud.
She looked around for more shoes and ended up buying more than five shoes for both Wayne and her. Next, she was going to buy matching outfits for them to use alongside the shoes.
‘Awwn, couple goals,’ she giggled in her own head and walked out of the section with the guard and the attendant woman. A younger attendant was packaging the items. Olive furrowed her brows when she realized they were no price tags on what she had gotten. Or were the tags inside the boxes?
“Would you like to check the individual shoe sections?” the lady asked.
“Yes, please,” Olive answered. They took a right turn and entered the feminine section. Immediately, her eyes caught sight of a magnificent set of heels on display. She almost squealed in delight but she comported herself and gently walked to it instead. It was a pretty shoe, embedded with emerald stones all over it.
“This matches my eye color, don’t you think?” she casually asked the lady who smiled.
“Yes, it sure does,” she answered excitedly.
“Have it packaged in my size please.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Olive got a few more shoes including flip flops, cushy indoor slippers and feminine knee highs and boots for herself. Next, she entered the male section and felt like Wayne already had all the shoes in the black color. She however proceeded to get him a pair of smooth Italian men shoes for him to wear on a suit. She could see he would look dashing in them. But would he wear them? She chuckled at the thought.
Olive shopped for the next one hour. Getting this and that, but mostly couple things for both of them. She bought couple bracelets, same types of hoodies, couple mugs for their coffee and a photo displayer for the pictures she intended to take with him everyday. Of course she got a digital camera too and its printer alongside it.
After everything was packaged and she was sitting down to wait for Wayne, the door opened and he stepped in.
“Babe,” she uttered and didn’t even realize when she darted from the sofa and into his arms.
“Awwn,” the young attendant unknowingly mumbled sweetly but covered her mouth immediately.
“I’m so sorry,” she muttered after the older attendant shot her a glare. She communicated with them mentally to give the Alpha and his mate some privacy so they all bowed and left.
“What took you so long?” Olive questioned while she was still cushioned sweetly in his arms.
“I’m sorry. I just had something to do,” he stated and kissed her cheek, lingering for long seconds and sending chills down her spine.
“Shall we go now?” he asked.
“Yeah. I… I bought a couple of things,” she stuttered as she looked at the bags.
“Don’t worry. I paid already. Let’s go,” he held her hand and pulled her along. They left the section and he snaked his hand around her waist. The people began to scream again but didn’t come close this time because the security was twice as tight than it was the first time.
“I think you’re adorable, Alpha’s mate!” a young man with a loud voice screamed and Olive’s cheeks turned pink.
“You are so beautiful! I love you already!”
“She’s so pretty!”
“Look at her eyes.”
“She fits Luna!”
Olive’s eyes had already teared up by the time they had gotten halfway to the door. She began to wave until they walked out and into their car. This time, the cars were three. She waved one last time before sitting in the car as Wayne had opened the door for her. She began to wipe the tears threatening to fall across her cheek. Wayne sat beside her and smirked at her.
“They like you,” he stated.
“Do I deserve that?” she asked. He smirked harder.
“Yeah. You do,” was his reply. Olive saw as the second car was being filled with the things she bought. They waited for a few minutes before driving towards the airport as they were to take a plane flight back to nearby Aspen.
