Ulric got out of the car, and it was clear that he hadn’t rested well last night. His handsome face showed signs of fatigue, with dark circles under his eyes.
“What’s going on?” Audrey noticed something was off with her son and approached him to ask.
“Nothing, the company has been busy lately, so I slept late.” Facing his mother, he naturally wouldn’t say much. Then he turned his gaze to Sirena, who was standing nearby. “Lawyer Reynolds, I need to talk to you about something, privately.”
Sirena nodded and smiled. “Perfect, you can give me a ride to the office. I won’t have to drive myself today! Since Ulric is here to pick me up, I’ll go with him.”
“Go ahead!” Audrey was particularly happy to see this scene.
Her son was finally willing to get close to Sirena, how could she not be pleased?
With his mother present, Ulric didn’t say much. “Let’s go then.”
“Alright, come back after work.”
“Okay.”
Ulric walked ahead without any intention of waiting for Sirena behind him.
She was wearing high heels and almost twisted her ankle.
After getting in the car, Sirena tried to act as if nothing had happened and asked, “Why did you suddenly come back from Fragrant Harbor?”
“Why are you targeting Rosalind?”
Ulric’s words were not a question but a statement.
Sirena looked up at him, full of disappointment. “Do you think I did this? Just because… just because Rosalind told you that I intentionally framed her?”
“What else?”
“I’ve been working diligently at W Group for so many years. Have I ever done anything to harm the company’s interests?” Sirena’s eyes were fixed on Ulric’s indifferent face, and her grievances burst out. “And your Rosalind, how long has she been at W Group? What has she done for W Group?”
Ulric remained silent.
“I thought you wouldn’t doubt me.”
Sirena’s eyes were full of disappointment. “Even if you investigated, it would be a sign of respect for me! Instead of coming straight to question me!”
“Rosalind has no reason to sell the technical drawings.”
That was why Ulric believed in Rosalind.
Because if she wanted anything, he could give it to her, she didn’t need to do that.
“Why not? Do I need to spell out her family situation? Yes, her mother is sick and hospitalized, and you gave her money, but that doesn’t mean her greed will be satisfied! The other company must have given her a large sum of money. How can you be sure she wouldn’t be tempted?”

But Sirena wasn’t lacking in money. Even just the dividends she had received from W Group over the years were enough for her to live lavishly for the rest of her life.
From anyone’s perspective, Rosalind had more motive.
“She is not that kind of person.”
“So you’re saying I’m the one who sold out the company for money?”
Her retort was quick, filled with disappointment and grievance.

She laughed.
