Just moments before Rosalind attempted to find a hiding spot, Ulric’s eyes locked onto her.
“Rosalind,” he called out, his voice deep and magnetic, his tone calm and composed.
Realizing her concealment was futile, Rosalind gathered her resolve and approached him. “Mr. Walters, Lawyer Garner.”
“We’re leaving now.” Ulric opened the car door and slipped inside as she came near.
Sirena waved and offered a smile to Rosalind. “Drive safely! Ulric, we’ll discuss our matter when you return from your trip.”
“Okay.”
Rosalind watched Sirena depart before entering the car herself.
Curiosity piqued, she stole a glance at Ulric, wondering about the nature of the “matter” Sirena mentioned.
“Feeling tired?” Ulric loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt with long fingers.
From Rosalind’s vantage point, she caught a glimpse of a tattoo on his collarbone.
“Not really, Cedric didn’t assign me much work.”
“If the workload becomes too much, let him know,” Ulric advised. He had brought her to the main company with the intention of avoiding overwhelming her.
Rosalind nodded, but her phone rudely interrupted the moment with an incoming call.
She retrieved her phone and discovered a new friend request.
MH requests to add you as a friend.
Curiosity struck again. Who could this be?
Rosalind hesitated for a moment before accepting the request.
Before she could contemplate it further, Tilda’s call came through.
“My cousin added you on WhatsApp. He said there’s a research project he wants to discuss with you if you have time!”
“…”
This girl was truly determined to play matchmaker.
“I’m not joking. Mr. Chan will definitely be interested. If you bring it to Group Three, your status will surely rise.”
“Alright, I added him. Thanks for giving me this opportunity.”
Rosalind exchanged a few helpless words before ending the call. Glancing at Ulric, she noticed he displayed no reaction this time.
Thank goodness. It appeared his previous displeasure wasn’t rooted in jealousy…
Come to think of it, why would he be jealous about such a thing!
Back at Easthaven Bay, Rosalind began packing her luggage. With a service-oriented mindset, she knocked on the study door. “Ulric, do you need help packing your bags for the trip?”
Ulric leaned against the desk, engrossed in reading company reports. His robe was slightly loose, revealing a patch of pale skin.
Upon hearing her voice, he straightened up. “Yes, pack a few white shirts and two suits.”
“Okay.”
“And pajamas, underwear, and condoms.”
“…”
Rosalind instinctively glanced at him, but Ulric remained composed.
How could he say that word so casually and naturally! Wasn’t he even slightly embarrassed?
And! With such a tight schedule for the trip, Ulric still found time to think about such things…
Silently retreating from his study, Rosalind dutifully ironed his clothes, folded them neatly, and placed them in the suitcase. She also packed ties, socks, underwear, and a box of contraceptives.
Before placing it inside, she double-checked the box-it contained five pieces. That should be sufficient.
Once everything was prepared, Rosalind was about to take a shower when she glanced at her phone. Malcolm had sent her five or six messages on WhatsApp.
Most of them were greetings and a brief introduction to the intelligent mobility vehicle that several professors were jointly developing.
She watched the concept video that Malcolm had created. The product not only featured autonomous driving and automatic parking but also incorporated four-wheel 360-degree steering and initial low-altitude flight capabilities.
This revelation surprised Rosalind!
A dual-use land-air vehicle was indeed a market opportunity at present. Domestic technology in this field had also been relatively underdeveloped.
