Rosalind’s POV
I blinked in surprise at the possessive tone of Killian’s voice.
Initially, when he hugged me, I thought it was weird but I had just been kidnapped so I brushed it aside thinking that it was a heat-of-the-moment thing or even because of the people around.
He wanted to seem like the perfect fiance u could understand that, this however, I couldn’t understand.
I moved forward, the door slamming behind me as I went to my wardrobe to bring out clothes to wear.
“I went to see Cillian,” I replied offhandedly as the tension in the room built.
I was reaching for a dress when suddenly I felt Killian behind me. I turned to look at him but to my greatest surprise, he shut the wardrobe and then pushed me up against it, his hazel eyes flashing.
“Why?”
I looked up at him confused by his question and his proximity. “Because I love him. Why are you asking so many questions? This engagement isn’t what you want either. I am just a whore, remember? A low-class whore you have no interest in touching.”
Killian seemed taken aback by the intensity of my reaction. He shouldn’t have been, up until recently he had not missed any opportunity to tell me how insignificant I was or how I was a whore undeserving of his brother or how Cillian was foolish for even wanting someone like me in the first place.
He leaned in closer, his voice low and strangely appealing. “Do you remember everything I tell you?”
My voice sounded breathless as I responded and I wondered what was going on with me. “Yes.”
His hand cupped my cheek and I shivered, his hand then slid all the way down my cheek to my nape, leaving goosebumps on my skin.
Then his hand slid to the back of my neck cradling me as his lips dropped to my cheek and he whispered against my skin.
“Then remember this. I might have changed my mind about you, Rosalind.”
My breath seized and my legs turned to wet noodles beneath me.
“What are you doing, Killian?”
“What we both need.”
His lips met mine and our kiss was wild like passion spilled from him to me and then back to him again growing and expanding as it moved between us. I get drunk even if I. had not had a sip of alcohol.
I was so drunk on the taste of him that when he tilted his head adjusting the angle to deepen the kiss, my hands slid behind his neck, my reluctance forgotten as his tongue swept over my life before dipping into my mouth.
As Killian kissed me, our bodies pressed to each other, his hand drifted to my hair gripping it almost to the point of pain moving me up against him as he deepened the kids even more. His tongue slid against mine and conquered me as his other hand gripped my breast eliciting a moan from me.
The sound seemed to turn him on even more as he gripped harder and pulled me even closer to him. I was liquid in his arms moaning and gasping into the kiss feeling so wanton and dirty.
This was Cillian’s twin brother. Even if we were now engaged, I couldn’t care about both him and Cillian. Being with him like this meant I was betraying Cillian. The thought of that gave me the strength to pull away.
My breath came quickly and I looked up at him at his hazel eyes dilated to almost black from arousal and a face so similar to Cillian’s that it made my heart ache.
“I can’t do this, Killian. I care about Cillian. I do.”
Killian didn’t move away from me, instead his lips dipped to my neck, dropping the most erotically tantalizing kisses on my neck that I had ever had the pleasure of getting before.
“Are you trying to convince me or yourself?” Killian drawled and his hot breath drifted across my skin.
My hands at the back of his neck tightened as a gasp escaped me despite my efforts to not falter. I found myself pulling him closer instead of pushing him away as my body burned for him.
“What do you want from me, Killian?”
His hand massaged my breast unashamedly as his other hand drifted down my waist cupping my ass. “I also want to find out, Rosalind. Let me touch you.”
Goddess, his words were going straight into my head and my knees were so weak that I knew the only reason I was still standing was because he was keeping me propped up against the wardrobe.
His lips dropped to the top of my chest as his hand on my ass pulled up my skirts. I felt every word he said as his lips moved.
“You are driving both of us crazy with these games you keep playing.”
My words came out warped and twisted as his hand trailed up my bare thigh.
“It’s not a game for me.”
Killian ignored my words as he slipped his hand between my thighs.
Who am I kidding? I can’t hold back.
I have zero control over myself when it comes to him. I might love Cillian, know he was my mate but that didn’t make being with Killian wasn’t any less heady.
In fact, it made it more so, the forbidden element making me so wet that we could both hear the squelching sounds coming from me when he inserted his finger into me.
If I couldn’t stop myself from falling, I could at least control my descent.
I pushed him away slightly, not enough to completely dislodge him from inside me but enough to get his attention.
I licked my lips nervously. This was a bad idea but I couldn’t help myself.
“If we do this, we need some rules.”
Killian smiled triumphantly and I felt his smile all the way in my core that clenched.
“I like rules.” He said before dropping his lips to my neck.
I shivered, my eyes studying close as his fingers worked within me as his lips moved on my neck nibbling and teasing.
I struggled to get my next words out as I was so thoroughly distracted by him.
“We aren’t having sex. At least not yet.” I added this last part as his fingers hooked inside me in a way that had me squirming away yet towards his touch.
Killian paused. “But we can do other things right?”
I placed my hand over his urging him to keep fingering me, I felt so hot and close.
“Yes.”
Goddess, I hoped I wouldn’t regret this but I already knew that I would. This was Killian after all. Playing with him was akin to ola7ong with fire.
I felt him smile against my skin then he lifted me up bridal style.
“Then I’m down for it.”
A giggle escaped me as he dropped me unceremoniously on the bed then his lips covered mine, silencing my laugh completely.
When he pulled away and I could speak again, I met his gaze and informed him fully of my main condition that couldn’t be negotiated
“I’m not leaving Cillian.”
Killian shrugged like he couldn’t give a fuck. “I never asked you to.”
He pushed down a strap of my dress shamelessly then the other and his eyes darkened as he cupped my breast exploring first with his hands and then with his mouth.
I clutched his head to my chest feeling so needy that it made me blush.
I always thought that sex with Killian would be rough and intense. I was right about the intense part because it felt like with every sweep of his tongue across my skin, with every touch he was enslaving me so that I would know that after him, I would never be the same.
“I…I…This is only physical, we aren’t emotionally connected.” I rasped out as the connection between us strengthened.
Killian pushed up my skirt.
“Whatever you say.”
His fingers can’t die on me so possessively and so sure that a loud moan escaped me as I arched my back.
I wondered what Cilliab would do if he were to walk in on us like this. If he were to know that I had let Killian do this to me. That I had encouraged him every step of the way. That if he stopped, I would jump him.
What would he think of me? I didn’t pull away from Killian though. I couldn’t.
“You can’t tell Cillian about this yet.” My words spilt out of me like a dirty secret. “I want to be the one to tell him.”
This gave Killian a pause where all the other things I said hadn’t and he only looked at me with a smile I wouldn’t interpret. “Secrets destroy relationships, love.”
Why did he calling me love make me so hot?
Then he shrugged elegantly, his hands parting my thighs. “But you won’t see me complaining.”
Somehow he succeeded in making me rethink my decision with those few clipped words.
“I intend to tell him I just need” I gasped as his tongue swept over my clitoris.
“No more talking.” He growled and I had no more words left to give. Only moans.
******
The morning after, I didn’t feel swamped with guilt like I expected to be. And while I had spent previous time staring at Killian and memorizing his features with my eyes while my heart sped up, I didn’t wait for Killian to get up before I used the shower and left the room.
I just needed some time. At least a few seconds to just think about everything.
I would do it all over again if I was asked to choose but I needed to come to terms with what exactly I wanted before seeing either Cillian or Killian again.
So I took a walk. A walk that was far longer than I had anticipated. And when I got back, I still felt like my mind was in the clouds.
Maybe that was why I didn’t watch where I was going and I bumped into a human wall.
I almost fell but the human wall caught me and I looked up to see… ink black shoulder length hair and black eyes.
“River?”
I was stunned silent. What on earth was he doing here in the palace?
He helped me straighten up with his trademark annoying smile on his face and I realized that I had missed it even if it had just been a day or so since I left.
“What are you doing here?” I asked once I had gotten unsurprised.
“I came here for the treaty signing.” He smiled. “Miss me?”
I smacked his arm. “In your dreams. Probably not even there too.”
He clutched his chest dramatically. “How will I survive this heartbreak?”
I barely restrained myself from laughing. He was hilarious. His smile disappeared though and his look grew more serious.
“Have you had a change of heart about learning?”
Learning? Oh. Right magic. Witchcraft. As if I needed any more complications in my life.
I shook my head. “I’ll pass thanks. It’s only been a day, my views are the same.”
His lips tightened. “I hoped you might have a different answer…” He hesitated. “You know the people here aren’t exactly thrilled about you becoming Prince Killian’s fiancee.”
Of course, I knew. I wanted to laugh off his concern but something in his voice gave me a pause.
“And?”
“I think you should give it a chance. To protect yourself.”
Before I could ask him why, I felt someone’s hand wrap around my waist.
“And who might this be, dear fiancee?” Killian’s voice was so casual that I tensed.
How much had he heard?
