When he left, like a fool, I just stood there watching his back, and also lower than that. Those tight jeans really suit him. He turned around and I blushed when he smirked, knowing exactly what I was looking at. Then he continued on his way and I turned around to enter the class.
“Miss, are you coming in or not?” A tall, blonde woman interrupted my tender and silly thoughts about Nick.
She couldn’t be more than 50 years old, but she had wrinkles and several patches of white hair.
“I’m sorry,” I entered the class quite embarrassed.
“What’s your name?”
“Benson. Samantha Benson. I’m sorry I’m late, I didn’t know where the class was and had to ask someone to accompany me.”
“That’s not my problem. Each person manages as best they can here. However, the one who will be affected in the exam is you, Miss.” Such a kind woman. “Now take your seat.”
A girl from the back stood up and with an exaggerated smile raised her hand. She was my height, with black hair, much thinner and less developed than me. In any case, my body is an exaggeration; my breasts looked like underdeveloped melons.
This was the girl I had asked about what was happening the day the classes were suspended.
“Sit next to me!” The excitement in her voice surprised me. For some reason, I already liked her, she seemed nice. I approached the seat and put my backpack on the floor.
“Hi, I’m Samantha.” I extended my hand. She accepted without hesitation. I definitely liked her.
“Hi! I’m Eva Ryman. It’s a great pleasure to meet you,” she said with a bit more enthusiasm than I expected, I’d never met any girl like this. “Although I had met you before, the other day when that stupid strike started, so where are you from?” She asked quietly so the teacher wouldn’t hear. Sitting in the back has its advantages.
“How do you know I’m not from here?”
“I’ve never seen you, plus, you have a different vibe than people here.”
A different vibe? I saw everyone here as pretty normal.
“I’m from Portland.”
“I have family who live there, it’s beautiful.” She said the last word a little too loudly.
“Excuse me, am I interrupting? Would you like me to bring you coffee and cookies…?” The teacher was going to continue, but Eva interrupted her: “Oh! Really? Would you do that for us? We would appreciate it so much.” I couldn’t help but laugh, covering my mouth so the teacher wouldn’t see me. I would never have dared to answer like that.
“You two, out of my classroom, now!” the woman bellowed. You have got to be kidding me…
“What? No! It’s the first day,” she questioned, trying not to kill Eva.
“You should have thought of that before. Now take your seat.”
We both got up and took our things, heading for the door. When we went out, we looked at each other for a few seconds and she burst out laughing. I didn’t find anything funny about what just happened, I missed my first class, I wanted to die.
“How could you say that to a teacher?!” I shouted indignantly. She didn’t answer, but just kept laughing. A few seconds later she calmed down.
“I hate when they talk sarcastically. She could have just told us to shut up.” She defended herself and punched my shoulder playfully. “Come on, you laughed too.”
I didn’t respond, I was too focused on thinking about where in the courtyard I could bury my head. “Do you know where the principal’s office is?” I asked her to be completely sure it was downstairs and I wouldn’t have to go back up the stairs. Maybe if I talked to him, I could go back to class.
“No idea,” Eva saw a teacher leaving a class. I couldn’t see his face, but from the back, he looked different, younger maybe. “There goes a teacher, let’s ask him.”
We approached him quite quickly. “Excuse me,” I touched his shoulder and he turned around. He was young. Young and very handsome. He’s tall, with blue eyes, light brown hair, and long, reaching his shoulders.
“Do you know where the principal’s office is?”
When the teacher smiled, I blushed. He was very handsome.
“It’s on the third floor. It’s the door at the end of the hallway.”
“Thank you very much,” I started walking with Eva too quickly. A few seconds later I heard him shout.
“What’s your name?” I kept walking, I didn’t imagine he was addressing me.
“I think he’s talking to you,” Eva whispered to me. If only she had whispered that way in class, I wouldn’t be going to the principal right now. I turned around and he was looking at me, still with his smile.
“Samantha,” I answered a bit hesitantly. Why was he interested?
“I’m Aaron,” he informed me. I nodded and then there was an awkward silence.
“See you around,” I said trying not to sound rude and leave without saying a word.
I ran back to the stairs again, but not before hearing him say, “No doubt about it.”
“Did you see the way he was looking at you?” Eva asked in a flirtatious tone.
“How was he looking at me?” I didn’t understand what she meant by that. He was kind, he was a teacher, he should be.
“He was staring at you, practically eating you up with his eyes,” Eva said. No. I’m an expert at eating someone up with my eyes and I’m sure Aaron didn’t.
“You’re crazy,” I declared and climbed another flight of stairs. If I did this every day, I would lose weight.
Eva kept insisting that the teacher liked me and I kept denying it. We saw the door Aaron had referred to and headed for it, but we weren’t the only ones there.
When I realized that Nick was sitting in the chair next to the door, I was paralyzed. We’re not the only ones who come here on the first day of classes. Nick still didn’t realize I was heading towards him. He was listening to music on his headphones.
Eva and I sat in the chair in front of him. Nick still wasn’t paying us the least bit of attention.
