Stephen left the hospital with Director Tim in a rush. Even though his face showed no sign of anger, he was annoyed by the sticky situation he was in. He couldn’t understand why Ivy and her manager hadn’t provided an explanation for what happened. Director Tim, on the other hand, was uncertain of what Ivy was trying to do by staying silent. She wasn’t stepping out to clarify the claim. Initially, he thought she was going to face the media to explain the truth, but it seems that wasn’t the case at all.
Stephen paused and looked at Director Tim. “What do you think about her claim? Do you think Ivy would do something like that?”
“I don’t know, but what will Ivy or her manager gain by doing this? As for Isabelle, I don’t know if she could possibly fake her own assault. We shouldn’t draw conclusions yet without solid evidence,” Director Tim gave his opinion. Based on what Ivy’s manager told him, they did hit her, but it was a form of defense.
Stephen didn’t say anymore word; there was only one way to find out. But before then, he wanted to hear from the other party before taking his next action.
At the VIP room…
“Why shouldn’t we get the police involved? I really don’t understand you, Isabelle,” her manager yelled, unable to fathom the reason behind her decision. “You said you are sure she sent those thugs to attack you, then why wouldn’t you let me report to the police?”
“No, don’t worry. I am sure she will apologize to me. I don’t want the issue to affect the film.” Inwardly, she knew it wasn’t her true intention. “Anyways, it’s not that serious.”
“What…” Her manager raised his eyebrow. She was beaten by thugs, and she said it’s not that serious.
“I meant, I’ll be fine in a few days,” she explained.
Isabelle’s manager was unaware of Isabelle’s deceit. He had complete trust in his artist, and he believed the lies he was told. Because he was being fed with lies, his feelings toward the famous actress plunged into hatred. All he wanted was for her to get a taste of her medicine, but the Isabelle’s management agency was taking too slow to act on the issue. Even though Isabelle was just requesting a simple apology, he couldn’t understand why she would choose to settle with an apology.
“She is a bully that must be thrashed,” his voice trembled in anger as he looked at Isabelle’s current state. “How could she bully you, and you still refuse to put her in her place. Do you think she will really kneel and apologize to you?”
“She definitely will apologize. She wouldn’t sit and let herself get scolded by the netizens.”
On the surface, she seemed ready to forgive Ivy, but inwardly, she didn’t want to settle the issue with an apology. Tarnishing Ivy’s image and having her kicked out of the film would make her aim. She was well aware of the competition between “Tomboy Donna” and “Wedding Catastrophe” that was stirred by the two lookalikes. If Ivy had a bad image in the public eye, it would ruin the chances for “Tomboy Donna” to outdo the other, and she knew the producer wouldn’t want that. There was also a chance she would replace Ivy as the lead character as she had auditioned for the lead role, but Ivy was chosen instead of her. With no choice but to settle as the antagonist, she vowed she must partake in the film for the sake of acting alongside George.
At the waiting room, Ivy stood up to leave after achieving the purpose of her visit to the hospital.
“What took you so long? You spent over an hour…” Susan’s face sunk in concern.
Ivy slammed the door and took off her hoodie. “Is there any new hot topic about me?” Being present at the scene of the interview, she, of course, knew the answer.
“You already know the answer to that question,” Joan responded as she showed her phone. Ivy swayed the phone from her face and shrugged. “There’s no need to see it.”
Joan frowned. ‘She seems mentally resilient to criticism and fulmination.’ She was tempted to inform a certain someone about what she just discovered but refrained as she didn’t want to raise any suspicion so early.
“I called the producer to explain my side of the story,” Susan informed, looking at the rearview mirror.
“He wants to see you, I mean us since I’m kinda involved…” Ivy chuckled, shaking her head. The cunning woman was one-of-a-kind. She succeeded in pushing the blame on her main target, which was her. The incident in the hallway was an open door to activate her deepest desires to get rid of her. For what reasons, Ivy had no idea.
“Why are you taking this situation so lightly?” Joan couldn’t help but ask. It was definitely not what she heard about her.
“Because everything happening is a sham,” Ivy responded with amusement plastered on her face.
Joan was slowly learning Ivy’s personality, and Susan had to inform her of the basics. “Joan, you better get used to it. Ivy doesn’t give a damn about slanders. Place that at the back of your mind.”
That was because there were several ways to prove her innocence, but she decided to wait until the right time to expose Isabelle. The time when there would be no turning back, and she would be left with no face to display in front of the media.
“I won’t let you be replaced because of that scumbag,” Susan said as the thought of Isabelle disgusted her. The tingling sensation she was feeling on her head was enough to push her into proving their innocence. After framing her, she threw the blame at Ivy, knowing fully well she was the real bully and culprit of her own assault. “Producer Stephen invited us over for lunch.”
“Nice,” Ivy responded with a slight smile. It was obviously not a simple lunch. She was even surprised herself and Susan hadn’t been summoned by the police for interrogation. “Isabelle must be so adamant on an apology.”
Joan sighed. “I feel bad, I shouldn’t have slapped her in the face.”
“So you could watch me turn bald,” Susan said jokingly. “Stop blaming yourself. It was obvious she had hatred for Ivy before the incident.”
Ivy’s phone dinged; it was a text message from an unknown number.
*How is life, sis?………. We are just getting started.*
