Callie was completely taken aback by the response, instinctively leaning back in surprise.
Nelson moved faster, pressing her back into place, tucking her hair behind her ear. His warm lips touched her earlobe, sending a chill through her.
“The most captivating thing about a woman is the blend of allure and innocence. She appears brave and fearless, but her legs are trembling with fear. With a bit of blood and a few tears, the woman can get someone.”
His voice was still hoarse. Callie felt his heat as she gazed through the smoke at his rugged yet alluring face.
With a face like Nelson’s, he could have any woman in the world if he wanted.
“… Are you like that too?”
“No. The fact that you can make me lose my composure for even a moment is a miracle.”
Callie took a deep breath. She had naively thought seduction was straightforward, but Nelson’s subtle allure was hard to resist.
Nelson released her, and the coat that had been between them slipped off, revealing the expanse of her chest in the strapless dress, the white cleavage enticing.
He frowned, his gaze darkening.
In an instant, Callie suddenly leaned into his chest and kissed his lips. Her mind exploded, and her heart raced.
Nelson paused, seemingly not expecting her boldness, only the warmth of their lips reminding him of reality.
Callie was overwhelmed. After what felt like an eternity, just as she was about to pull away and speak, Nelson tightened his grip on her waist, taking control. He held her tightly, raining kisses down on her.
The taste of smoke from Nelson’s mouth mingled with hers, their lips and tongues entwining, creating an intimate sound in the silence.
Callie had no control, being kissed so fiercely she could barely breathe.
Nelson’s aggression was overwhelming. Callie didn’t want to admit it, but when he invaded her mouth, her tongue trembled, and her heart nearly stopped.
She let out a moan from her throat, “Nelson… I…”
After two minutes, the man stopped and pressed his forehead against hers, breathing heavily. He grabbed her long hair, forcing her to look up. “Who gave you the courage?”
Callie endured it, smiling softly. “Mr. Oconnor, you crossed the line.”
Her fingertip pressed against his adam’s apple; it was hard, but her hand was soft.
She sacrificed herself to achieve the desired result.
“Do you know what you looked like just now?” Nelson stared at her. “A seductive enchantress.”
Callie didn’t answer but asked instead, “Was that the third time?”
He didn’t respond.
“Just now, your composure was lost for more than a moment.” Callie’s smile widened as her soft hand slowly slid down to his lean waist. Though they hadn’t done anything explicit, it felt as if they had done everything.
Nelson grabbed her hand and gently pushed it away. “Just a man’s instinct.”
Callie firmly believed that his kiss was a sign of him falling for her. Her heart raced even faster at the thought of conquering a man of high status.
Nelson’s lips still bore traces of her moisture, adding a touch of allure to his rugged demeanor. Callie looked at him greedily. “You like me; that’s why you crippled Mr. Wilcox’s hand for me and rushed here after your engagement ended because you were worried about my safety.”
Nelson couldn’t stand it any longer and stepped back a bit. “Callie, you have two sides.”
This version of her wasn’t pretending to be obedient and docile but was confident and alluring, as if this was her true self.
