In order to reconcile Xiaoxiao and Yayoi, Rosiley prepared to cook and make some dishes that they both liked, asking them to visit her.
There was nothing that could not be resolved by a meal. If one meal was not enough, then she would make it two.
Auntie Wu walked to the kitchen entrance and looked at the busy figure inside. She smiled and asked, “Young madam, do you need my help?”
“It’s okay, Auntie Wu. I can do it myself.” Rosiley turned back and smiled at her. “It’s more meaningful if I cook the dishes myself.”
“Alright. Call me if you need my help.”
Auntie Wu saw her persistence and said no more.
“Okay.” Rosiley assented and then lowered her head again to cut the vegetables.
She had spent more than two hours on preparing this meal. Looking at the delicious spread on the dining table, Rosiley felt really proud of herself.
She looked up and out of the French windows of the dining room. It was already dark, and the street lights in the courtyard had already been turned on.
She looked at the time. They would be here soon.
So she walked out and happened to meet Sachin, who had just reached home.
She smiled brightly. “Sachin, you’re back.”
Sachin murmured his assent. He started scrutinizing her in a composed manner.
She was wearing an apron with her lovely hair tied up casually behind her head. Those strands of stray, naughty hairs were unkempt, and yet her pretty face was beaming radiantly.
She was obviously in a messy state, but he found her exceptionally beautiful at this moment. He could not bear to look away.
“You’re cooking?” he asked softly.
Rosiley nodded with a smile. “Yes. I’ve made many dishes. You’re in for a treat tonight.”
“Oh?” He raised his slender brows slightly. “You’re sure about that?”
His doubt made Rosiley pout discontentedly. “What’s wrong? Do you dislike my cooking?”
Sachin smiled. “No. Even if you make awful dishes, I will still eat them.”
Hearing this, Rosiley was instantly delighted, but she still pretended to be displeased and said, “Oh come on, I don’t believe you.”
“You will in a moment.”
Sachin said meaningfully to her.
“Oh?” Rosiley was stunned for a moment but soon realized what he meant. She angrily swung a fist to punch him gently. “How dare you detest my cooking!”
Sachin guffawed loudly for a while, then grasped her hand in his and brought it to his lips, kissing it. He looked intently into her black eyes, which were scintillating with faint light. “I don’t detest it. I’ll be down after I change.”
As his voice faded, he stroked her hair and then went straight up the stairs.
Rosiley turned around and watched him go upstairs. A faint smile appeared around the corners of her lips.
“Young madam, your friends are here,” Auntie Wu said at this moment as she walked in.
Rosiley retracted her gaze and turned her head to see Yayoi and Morphy walk in together.
She curled up the corners of her lips. “You guys are here.”
Orange light shone in the dining room, making the atmosphere especially warm and cosy.
But in fact—
There was not a trace of a smile on Ying Xiaoxiao’s small, tense face.
Yayoi was frowning and not looking too happy either.
The whole atmosphere was a little awkward.
Only the unsuspecting Corey was grinning cheekily at Rosiley. “sister-in-law, why are you such a virtuous wife today? You have prepared so many dishes!”
