Wayne was super fast that Olive felt like she was chasing the wind. Did they say the cheetah was the fasted animal on land? Seriously?
She growled at him as she saw his back fading away into the distance. They had just started racing but she was already out of breath. She slowed down and began to breathe way faster than she used to. Man, what a mate! Why couldn’t he just calm down?
She sat on the road there, at the edge of the woods and waited for him to come back. She wouldn’t kill herself just because she wanted to race with her male.
About a minute later, she saw him tearing through the wind and towards her. Before she could blink two to three times, he was already standing in front of her, his bushy and thick tail waving in the air and his graceful body standing elegantly.
Wayne’s black wolf was really beautiful and mighty looking, but could its beauty be compared to a mesmerizing all-gray wolf with blue eyes and fur so smooth it looked like silk?
“Could not keep up?” he asked in that calm voice that felt like the ocean on a new morning. It wasn’t the first time she heard him speak. He had spoken to her through Wayne earlier.
She stood on all fours and they stared into each other’s eyes as they walked around in circles. Olive’s wolf was so thrilled but she managed to calm herself down. Olive however was screaming inside that her wolf would have blocked her ears if she could. The blue eyed wolf was simply majestic.
“Have you found a name for me yet?” he asked again and Olive’s wolf shook her head.
“Hmm. How long do I have to wait?” he asked rhetorically. He looked ahead at the moon and took few steps away from his mate. Looking down at his legs, Olive was wowed at the way his fur pooled down over his paws. They were thicker and longer there. His claws could be seen jutting out through the fur. So long and slender.
“Let’s race, mate. I’ll catch you,” he said and sat down. Olive’s wolf furrowed her eyes. He said he would catch her but he was sitting down? Oh, he wanted her to go first. Giving her the headstart.
Olive chuckled inside and girded up her loins together with her wolf. They positioned themselves and took off in a swift motion. Olive’s wolf was strong and fast, but she herself knew she was nothing compared to Wayne’s blue eyed wolf.
They kept running and running and running until she felt like slowing down because Wayne’s wolf had not yet began to follow her. She wondered why so she stopped. But then, she decided to just continue so his chances of catching her would be smaller. Back at the place he was sitting, he howled at the moon and got up. Olive heard it and realized that was definitely a signal that he was already coming so she speedied up.
To her utter dismay, she could already hear his footfalls coming closer. She peeped back and saw a tiny image of him coming. She ran faster, but it was like the more she ran, the more he became twice as fast.
In a jiffy, Wayne’s wolf passed by her and blocked her path, making her tumble into him and both of them falling into each other. Immediately, Olive shifted naked into his embrace and he shielded her. She was panting so fast that she felt like her heart would jump out of her chest. The wolf was staring down at her with his eyes and she instantly felt the need to sleep.
“Wayne,” she mumbled but she couldn’t even hear her own voice as it faded into the world of sleep.
Olive was sleeping peacefully in his arms now and he cuddled her into his smooth fur. She stirred like a baby and enjoyed the soothing feeling against her naked skin. After about thirty minutes of just staring at her, Wayne shifted back to his body. He smiled as he smoothed her hair from her face and placed more than five kisses on her forehead at different intervals. It was getting late into the night but he didn’t feel the need to get up yet. He just held Olive like that, cuddling her and placing sweet kisses all over her face.
After almost an hour of them staying like that, he picked her up in his arms and sped back to the house. He had asked for all the housekeepers to be in their rooms and give them some privacy earlier before they went racing, so he just held Olive into the house in his arms.
He took her upstairs and laid her gently on the bed then covered her with the blanket. He entered the bathroom and ran a hot bath for her. When he returned to the bedroom, he saw her stirring but he knew she wouldn’t wake up. Courtesy of his blue wolf who just came out fully for the first time in his life. He took Olive to the bathtub and laid her down gently, soaking her whole body into it. Then, he washed her and her hair before returning her to the room where he dried her body and hair. Despite the noise of the blow dryer, baby girl didn’t wake up. So much for someone who claimed she had control over her sleep.

Morning came and as usual, Olive woke up in bed alone. She frowned and rubbed her eyes.
“Why doesn’t he ever let me wake up by his side? It’s not even like I sleep in,” she murmered. She scanned the room for a clock and saw an alarm clock by the bedside table. She peeped over at it and her eyes widened at the time. 9:20am? What in the world was she sleeping that long for? It wasn’t like she was drunk to stupor last night!
She yanked the blanket off her body and stepped down from the bed only to realize she wasn’t wearing a single piece of fabric.
“Goodness!” she exclaimed as she hugged her body unconsciously. Why was she naked? Did she shift and forget to wear a dress or something?
“Wait… I did shift. But why would I not wear a dress after returning home with Wayne?” she asked herself. She thought for a few seconds before her eyes widened again. She didn’t return home with Wayne. Gosh! She had slept off again! Why did she keep shutting down like that as if she was out of battery?
She hurried to the wardrobe where they had unpacked yesterday and grabbed a large jacket belonging to Wayne. It was the first thing her hands grabbed so she just wore it. The jacket was reaching her thighs and covered her fully. Well, it was quite baggy.
Taking a quick glance at the mirror, she nodded and hurried out of the room. Wayne must be somewhere around because his scent was still very fresh in the hallway.
As she hurried down the stairs, she smelled egg frying and decided to check the kitchen and ask the housekeepers if they had seen the Alpha.
But to the greatest shock of her life, it was Wayne who was frying eggs. He was shirtless, with just a long pair of pants on. And was frying and turning like a pro.
