Chapter 79: The Mighty Oscar!

As he asked the question, Eli deliberately sized up Kayden. To be acquainted with Coleman yet dressed so plainly – his entire outfit couldn’t have cost more than two hundred bucks. If he were an elderly man, one could say he’d transcended worldly concerns. But this guy was just a young lad in his twenties. It simply didn’t add up!
Eli had seen Kayden twice now – once three days ago, and again today. The guy always carried himself with an air of aloofness, as if he were above it all.
Coleman smiled and intentionally raised his voice as he introduced, “Oh right, I haven’t introduced yet.”
He glanced at Kayden instinctively after saying this, as if seeking his permission.
Kayden neither spoke nor made any gesture, seemingly giving his tacit approval.
Only then did Coleman dare to reveal Kayden’s identity. “This is the War God of Seclela! The Defender of the South!”
“Defender?” Eli’s brow furrowed as he reassessed Kayden.
He then let out a cold chuckle and said, “Old Mr. Vincent, you’ve been duped! He’s not the King of Seclela.”
If he were truly the King, he’d certainly be worthy of sitting in that spot. But since he wasn’t, it wasn’t appropriate. Everyone here was worth billions, yet they couldn’t sit there, but this youngster could?
As soon as Eli finished speaking, someone chimed in, “That’s right, Old Mr. Vincent! You’ve been fooled. How could this guy possibly be the King of Seclela? How could the King show up in our little neck of the woods?”
“This guy’s got some nerve, daring to impersonate the King of Seclela! Does he think knowing a bit of medicine and having a guy in camo by his side makes him Seclela’s War God?”
Most of the people present were well-informed and of high status, so they’d all heard of the Defender of the South. Naturally, they wouldn’t believe this man was the Defender – after all, he was a legendary figure.
“So, you’ve seen the Defender of the South before?” Kayden asked Eli, looking somewhat puzzled.
Eli, with a smug expression, was about to answer Kayden when a voice called out from outside. “Boxing champion Oscar has arrived!”
Oscar was here!
Oscar’s arrival successfully diverted the topic, but Kayden was left pondering. Eli had stated so confidently that Kayden wasn’t the Defender of the South, which meant he must have seen the real deal before.
Impersonating the Defender? In Seclela, someone actually dared to impersonate him?
Didn’t they know that impersonating him was punishable by death?
Thinking this, Kayden quietly told Greedy Wolf beside him, “Look into who’s been impersonating me.”
“Yes, sir,” Greedy Wolf replied.
By now, Oscar had arrived on the scene, and there was no denying his imposing presence.
Two people followed behind him – both stunningly beautiful women with perfect figures. These two beauties wore expressionless faces, cold as ice. One stood to Oscar’s left, the other to his right.
Oscar was a burly man, built similarly to Greedy Wolf. His skin was dark, his body robust. He was wearing only a tank top that exposed all his muscles. Upon entering, he said nothing and showed no expression, giving off the air that he held no one in regard – quite the visual of a master fighter.
“Oscar’s here!” Eli announced proudly.
Oscar nodded at Eli, saying, “Mr. Barnes.”
He scanned the room, asking coldly, “That guy hasn’t shown up yet?”
Coleman quickly replied, “Not yet. Please, come in, Mr. Davidson.”
Oscar didn’t respond, just walked over coolly and sat down at the table opposite Kayden.
After Oscar sat down, Coleman hurriedly said, “Mr. Davidson, it’s truly an honor that you could come-”
Oscar raised his hand, cutting Coleman off mid-sentence. “That’s enough, no need for empty words! I just owe Mr. Barnes a favor. I’m here to repay that favor. Once I kill the guy, I’m out.”
This statement instantly elevated Eli’s status significantly.
Moreover, he spoke with such certainty, as if he didn’t consider Connor a threat at all.
Seeing Oscar’s arrogant demeanor, Coleman quickly said, “Mr. Davidson, Connor is incredibly skilled. I advise you to be cautious!”
“No worries,” Oscar raised his hand confidently and said, “When he shows up, I’ll kill him. Oh, and those people outside are useless. They’ll just be cannon fodder when the time comes. Tell them to leave. I didn’t sleep last night, so I’m going to catch a few winks.”
With that, he crossed his arms and lowered his head, assuming a sleeping posture.
This scene left everyone looking at each other in bewilderment. Oscar truly lived up to his reputation as the boxing champion. With a big fight looming, he could still be so relaxed. This gesture instantly put everyone at ease.
With Oscar’s abilities, he indeed had no reason to be nervous about anyone.
Coleman weighed the situation. Oscar was indeed worthy of his title as boxing champion, with his strong aura and skills that surely surpassed his own. But facing the mysterious and unpredictable Connor, such nonchalance seemed unwise.
Any arrogance would eventually come at a price!
Kayden ignored Oscar’s behavior, but Greedy Wolf couldn’t stand it. To act so cocky in front of the Defender of the South was going too far. He clenched his fist, ready to teach the guy a lesson, but Kayden immediately raised his hand to stop Greedy Wolf.
“My Lord, this guy is way too full of himself! Let me teach him a lesson,” Greedy Wolf said loudly on purpose.
“He’s here,” Kayden replied, seemingly off-topic.
Oscar slowly opened his eyes upon hearing Greedy Wolf’s words. He stared directly at Greedy Wolf with bloodshot eyes and said, “Once I’ve killed that guy, I’ll deal with you next.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he stood up and walked outside!
Greedy Wolf had a fiery temper. Kayden might ignore such trash, but he couldn’t tolerate it.
“My Lord, let me kill this piece of garbage!” Greedy Wolf requested in a low voice. He wouldn’t dare act recklessly in Kayden’s presence.
“It’s fine,” Kayden said calmly. “Let him be. He won’t live long anyway.”
Hearing Kayden’s words, Greedy Wolf finally shut his mouth.
Just then, a strange gust of wind suddenly swept through the Vincent family’s courtyard. The previously calm night sky was abruptly assaulted by this eerie wind, leaving everyone feeling uneasy.
This felt like an omen of impending disaster!
“Boom!” Suddenly, a thunderous sound rang out, and a bolt of lightning tore across the sky as if threatening to split it in two.
“What the hell are you? Stop with these cheap tricks and show yourself!” Oscar shouted coldly into the night sky, his voice sounding mighty and domineering in the pitch-black night!
“Ahahahahah!” What followed was an eerie laugh.
The laughter seemed to ride on the wind, sending chills down everyone’s spine!
This kind of magic that could alter the weather was indeed beyond the capabilities of ordinary people.
It seemed Connor was truly a formidable opponent!
