ESTELLE
Did Argon just ignore me?
I was stunned by Argon’s action. He just neglected my words and took that wretch in his hold.
“Is he blind? Can’t he see that Brielle is pretending to be in pains?”
I would know because I have done something like this before to Argon, just to get him to come and stay with me.
Brielle is lying!
I watched Argon as he dashed out of the room with Brielle in his arms. He went with wolf speed, leaving me behind.
His action left me mad. Tonight was meant to be for us with no disturbance, but that wolfless woman ruined it with her presence.
And Argon?
“He can’t be serious, ” I groaned, going after him.
Argon came calling out to his Beta and the servants for assistance while heading for Brielle’s room.
“Alpha, what happened to her?” Jerome asked when he saw Argon racing through the pathway with a groaning Brielle in his hold.
She kept making that annoying sound, getting my Argon worried.
Can’t he see that she’s pretending?
“I don’t know. She just started screaming,” Argon shared with Jerome, who followed him from behind.
I was also following, but slowly.
I just watched how all the servants were racing like maniacs, just because of Brielle.
It annoyed me deeply.
When Argon got to the room, Beta Jerome immediately asked for Brielle’s medicine, prescribed by Doctor Nicole.
“Where did she keep it?” He asked, hovering his eyes around to see if he could spot it.
Argon had to drop Brielle down in bed to join his Beta, while I leaned close to the door feeling sorry for my darling Alpha.
“He will be so mad if he discovers that this runt was only pretending to escape his order.” I stared at Brielle, who cuddled herself in bed, holding her abdomen.
Just as they were searching, someone suddenly came dashing into the room, pushing me aside roughly.
My heart skipped in shock, as I staggered and quickly got my stance.
“Who is that fool?!” I roared out, turning to look.
“I’m sorry.”
“You?” I glared, recognizing the animal that almost pushed me to the floor. It’s that same maid that disrespected me for Brielle.
How dare she?!
I was ready to pour out my rage on her when Argon came yelling out, “WHERE’S HER MEDICINES? ”
“I know where it is, Alpha,” The annoying maid answered, rushing to the mirror.
She pulled out a wrapper from behind, opening it to reveal what was inside.
Brielle’s medication, that was what was inside the rag.
When Argon saw it, he immediately grabbed it from the maid and got into bed to attend to Brielle.
She was still whining and shedding fake tears, just to convince Argon that she was indeed suffering.
And Argon blindly attended to her.
“Here, take this.” He lifted her head a bit, helping her to consume the medicine.
Brielle gulped down the medicine, still giving a soft whine.
“The doctor had said she needs some rest. If she’s stressed out too much she won’t recover fully, ” The disrespectful maid said to Argon and Jerome, drawing closer to the bed.
“If you don’t mind, Alpha, let me watch over her until she’s better,” She volunteered, bowing her head down at Argon.
With all the drama that took place, I couldn’t control myself any more. I came bursting out in laughter, clapping my hands.
“Waw! What a show. You really are good, Brielle.” I laughed, stepping fully into the room.
“Estelle, what are you talking about?” Argon questiomed, carefully stepping off the bed.
I rolled my eyes at his silliness, saying, ” I still can’t believe you, Argon. She just fainted on the ground and you immediately believed her lie? Come on! Open your eyes.”
“What do you mean by lie? Can’t you see that she’s in pain?” He pointed at Brielle, who was still shivering and whining on the bed.
But I wasn’t moved by her fake tears.
I am wise.
“This isn’t the time for all that, Estelle. Brielle is in pains and…”
“Open your eyes, Argon!” I raised my voice at him, getting fed up of his blindness.
Like… What’s wrong with him?
“Brielle is not in any pain! She’s lying to you! ” I pointed out, so he would know.
But Argon was looking confused. He must be wondering how I knew she was lying.
I’m not going to tell him that I’ve done this act before, but rather I’ll use something else.
“Think about it. Why didn’t the pain start when we called her to serve us or when she was busy ruining our date? Why did the pain start when you ordered her to apologize to me? ” I questioned, hitting hard on that part.
“She’s lying and I’ll prove it to you.”
Filled with desperation to exposule Brielle, I stormed towards the bed, ready to pull her out.
Her companion, Miss disrespectful, tried to stop me, yelling that Brielle was sick.
With annoyance, I used my wolf strength to push her aside, sending her falling to the ground.
“Estelle! What’s wrong with you?!” Argon yelled at me, drawing nearer to stop me.
But he was too slow.
I grabbed Brielle by the arm, almost pulling her out from the bed when my nose perceived a strong yet weak odor coming from her body.
“Is that…” I sniffed once again, gasping out of realization.
“Sickness!” I shrieked in disgust, letting go of Brielle immediately.
I quickly took out my napkin to wipe my hands. The odor of sickness was so irritating that I couldn’t stand it.
“Are you satisfied? Move aside!” Argon pushed me, moving closer to Brielle.
His action left me astonished.
When I dropped my eyes back on Brielle, I was left confused by what I saw.
Her face… The lively color I saw not quite long, suddenly vanished into a white paled skin.
She’s really sick?!
“Alpha, she’s running temperature, ” Jerome reported, touching Brielle’s neck.
This report left Argon feeling distressed. He had his hand rubbing his back neck, before settling it on the maid.
Before he could utter a word to her, she said, “Let me watch over her, Alpha. The doctor had told me what to do if such arises. You don’t have to worry.”
“Okay, you can stay with her,” Argon agreed, permitting the maid to watch over Brielle.
Where I stood, watching all these, I was in daze.
“I thought Brielle was lying. But that strong smell was a prove that she wasn’t faking her illness. She was really in pains.”
I stared at her as she laid down weakly, whining.
Jerome told Argon to leave, assuring to take care of things.
“You can go and rest, Alpha. You know you still have to head to the office in the morning. Just don’t worry about this, ” Jerome said.
But Argon didn’t look like one who was ready to leave. He kept staring at Brielle.
And I didn’t like it one bit. It was becoming uncomfortable.
“He’s right, Alpha. I’ll be fine. Besides, I’ve taken the medicine Doctor Nicole prescribed. I’ll be fine,” Brielle said faintly, smiling at Argon.
The sight of her smile provoked me bitterly.
I directed my eyes at Argon and noticed how upset he was looking after seeing that light smile from Brielle.
I hope it’s not what I’m thinking?
Taking his Beta’s advice, Argon decided to leave the room.
When he turned to leave, his eyes fell on me.
There was a brief stare between us, which felt awkward. Argon suddenly glared at me, storming out of the room.
I was surprised by his action.
He didn’t just glare at me now, did he?
Sensing discomfort coming from him, I rushed out of the room to catch up with him.
“Argon! Argon, wait!” I called, but he didn’t listen. He kept walking fast, ignoring my calls.
I kept calling out to him and he just paid deaf to me.
This behavior of his provoked me, sending my feet speeding up, until I was right in his front blocking his way.
“Estelle, move.”
“No Argon, I won’t. Why aren’t you answering me? You don’t even want to look at my face. Did I do something wrong?” I asked, attempting to hold my sweetheart’s hands.
But when he heard that question, Argon plopped my hand away, leaving me astonished.
“Did I hear you clearly? You’re asking if you did anything wrong? ” He questioned.
I couldn’t even respond. I just stared at Argon, as he vented his anger towards me.
“Someone is going through a serious pain and the best you could do was accuse her of pretending?”
“How was I suppose to know she was really sick? You saw how she was acting in the room? She poured drinks on us and even dared to yell at you. How did you expect me to believe she was sick? ” I questioned, defending myself.
But it seems Argon wasn’t impressed.
In fact, my words increased his anger towards me.
In frustration, he wiped his face, drawing away from my point.
I wasn’t done yet. I needed Argon to hear me out.
“Argon… Don’t… don’t tell me you’re developing a soft spot for that woman.”
“What?!” He widened his eyes at my words.
“No, I’m not! Why would you think that?”
“Because you were acting so nice towards her!”
“Estelle, Brielle fainted in our room right in front of us. Do you expect me to just stand there and do nothing?”
I wanted to speak, but Argon kept yelling, talking about Doctor Nicole and the instructions she gave.
“I am only following her instructions. If anything bad happens to Brielle, I’d be the one responsible, because Doctor Nicole had dropped a warning before leaving!”
He groaned in frustration, pacing to and from in a small distance.
Despite what he shared, I still didn’t care.
“My love, she was busy ruining our moment. When you gave her that order, she suddenly fell ill. That’s what made me assume she was lying.”
“When will you use your brain, Estelle?”
“What? ” I gasped at what Argon said.
Is he calling me stupid?
“I told you what happened with Brielle. She fainted due to lack of food, and the doctor pointed out that she wasn’t fully strong and needs rest. I told you all of these when you showed up. Have you forgotten?!” He raised his voice.
That’s when I flashed to what he had told me before. But we didn’t take the matter as a serious thing. It didn’t look that important.
“Look…” He rubbed his face, sliding to his forehead. “I wouldn’t be here getting all stressed out if you hadn’t pulled that trick with your father.”
“What? Are… Are you accusing me now?” I widened my eyes in disbelief.
He’s really blaming me.
“You’re the one who made me punish Brielle for something you did. If you hadn’t pulled that stunt, by now I’d be in my room resting, instead of babysitting her!” He shouted, causing my body to shiver.
“I just need to rest, please. I don’t have the strength to take another problem in, ” He said, walking pass me.
I remained at my spot, still stunned by Argon’s words.
“Argon is blaming me for what happened. He’s blaming me because of that wolfless orphan!” I groaned, tightening my hand into a fist.
“I won’t accept this, Argon. You can’t accuse me for trying to keep our relationship intact.”
My mind flashed to how Brielle held my hand in the room, glaring back at me in a terrifying manner.
That left me stunned.
It almost felt like I was being held by someone else and not by that weakling.
“First, she got her maid to disrespect me, then she ruined my date and tried to challenge me, and now she’s turning my Argon against me? No, I won’t be quiet.”
I stamped my hand against the wall, causing a crack.
“That woman doesn’t deserve peace. She insulted me, the daughter of Alpha Deron, a powerful wolf. She dared to challenge me in front of my Alpha? Fine then…”
I turned around, making my way back through the same path I came from.
“I will make her regret her action. Sick or not, you must be punished, Brielle.”
.
That same midnight, at around two in the morning, I snuck out of the bedroom and made my way to Brielle’s bedroom.
The door was halfway open, giving me an opening to see both Brielle and that her maid, sleeping.
The maid was laying on a mat while Brielle on the bed.
She slept soundly like some queen, irritating me.
“You can’t escape me this time,” I smirked, tiptoeing into the room with my other hand behind my back.
I carefully passed the sleeping maid, so she won’t feel or hear me. I made my way to the other side of the bed, pulling my hand out.
In my hand, held a bowl of hot soup, which I brought with me, under the pretext of coming to feed Brielle, just in case Jerome or a guard spotted me.
“Where can I pour this? ” I hummed, looking for the right spot to bath Brielle with the soup.
“Maybe the face. She will go blind and have a burnt scar,” I chuckled softly, getting ready to bath Brielle as payback.
The moment my hand came tipping the soup, Brielle’s eyes suddenly came open.
My whole body shivered when I saw her scary eyes. I was frozen in fear.
Suddenly, Brielle sat up quickly, hitting the hot bowl off my hands and right on my…
“AHHH! My eyes!”
The soup! It came pouring on my face!
