At this outburst, Rosiley only felt ironic. It was a death penalty to foolishly fall out with shareholders in the meeting.
She was hopeless.
The shareholders all pulled a long face. When their despicable deals were revealed on the spot, they all felt more angry than ashamed.
Someone stood up. “Rorey, I’ll return the money to you. Today, I have to vote for Rosiley, the true heir of the family.”
“Me too.” Others stood up as well.
It was already a hopeless situation. Rorey’s face instantly paled.
After a unanimous vote, Rosiley smoothly became the Group’s new chairman.
The news quickly spread through the company, and the employees who supported Rosiley cheered with excitement.
Perhaps, that was what everyone wanted.
In the meeting room, Rorey collapsed into a chair. She looked lifeless, as if she had lost her soul.
Rosiley glanced at her with eyes full of mockery. This was karma.
Then, while all the shareholders were still present, she picked up Rorey’s share-transferring contract and solemnly said, “As my father hasn’t woken up, I can’t confirm the authenticity of the file. But, I did overhear a conversation between Rorey and her mother Xenia Zhao in my father’s hospital room.”
At this, Rorey jerked her head around. Her eyes wide open, Rorey stared at Rosiley in disbelief.
Rosiley imperceptibly curved her lips and continued, “They talked about shares and also said they forged the file themselves. So, I want to have the handwriting identified. If the file is a forgery, I intend to sue Rorey and Xenia Zhao.”
The shareholders could never expect Rorey and her mother to have done something like this. They had thought the mother and daughter pair really had consideration for Seneca. However, they turned out to have wild ambitions disguised by hypocrisy.
“Rosiley, do what you want to do. We’re all here for you.” Old Chen looked at Rosiley amiably.
“That’s right. Rosiley, we’ve been friends with your dad for so many years. We don’t want him to be fooled either.”
“Rosiley, if you ever need help from us, just ask. You don’t need to feel ashamed.”
Hearing the nice words from all the uncles, Rosiley felt very touched and her eyes misted.
She took a deep breath and turned all her gratitude into one sentence. “Thank you.”
The shareholders’ meeting ended satisfactorily, and Rosiley had obtained the chairman post.
Just when she was leaving, Rorey, who had been seated lifelessly, suddenly stood up and dashed into Rosiley.
Rosiley was caught off guard. Her back knocked into the door frame. Acute pain spread and her vision blurred. If Old Chen had not supported her in time, she would have flopped onto the ground.
“Rosiley, you b*itch. You’re not a daughter from the family at all. Your mom had you with another man outside the family. You’re a b*stard…”
Rorey’s harsh words seemed to come from somewhere far away. She tried hard to open her eyes, only to see Rorey’s ugly face, which was distorted from anger, swaying in front of her eyes. Rorey was still spitting nasty insults.
Rorey was hurling abuse at her, at her mother.
Rorey could insult anyone, but when she insulted Rosiley’s mother, she had crossed the line. Rosiley badly wanted to stop Rorey, to tear her mouth apart, but the severe pain on her back left her even unable to open her eyes.
In the end, she passed out while the sound of Rorey’s abuse was getting farther and farther away.
