But why would he say such a thing in the first place? Thank God she slapped him, he came back to his damn senses already. So he wanted to let Olive live the life she wanted… and with another man? Heck! No one was permitted to make her happy except him. Just him. He would be the one to make her fantasies come true.
Before he could try to calm her down, he saw her break down and go on her knees-crying.
“Olive,” he called in surprise and ran to her.
“Baby,” he called again as he held her arms.
“Don’t let me go. Don’t leave me,” she cried and hugged him tight. Wayne’s heart melted into hot wax. He held her hand against his chest and kissed her hair.
“I’m sorry, I tried to make such a decision,” he mumbled deeply.
“Why would you say something like that? I am sad about not having a normal life doesn’t mean I don’t’t want the life with you. I want you, which is why I’m willing to live in your darkness no matter what it is. Don’t you dare say you’re letting me go again. Never in this miserable life of yours,” Olive warned menacingly and Wayne grinned.
“Now why are you looking like an idiot right now?” she asked with a deep frown.
“So this is how it feels to have a protective mate. A possessive mate,” he stated and smirked.
“I think I love this side of you,” he added and she hit him on his chest.
“You fool!” she nagged as she continuously hit his chest. He laughed and wrapped her in a tight embrace again.
“I’m sorry that you had to be mated to me. But it’s not something we can easily change.”
“It’s not something we would even change. I… I love being mated to you. I just… I just want a little of my fantasies to come true. Just a little,” she looked up at him with puppy eyes. He chuckled.
“How about you make a list then? I’ll make all the wishes there come true for you. Forever,” he replied and patted her hair smoothly.
“Are you being serious right now?”
“Have you seen me cracking jokes before?” he asked in return with eyes peering at her. She smiled brightly at him.
“Thank you, Wayne,” she appreciated and hugged him again, still smiling brightly.
“But there is a condition though.”
“What is it?”
“Once you submit the list, you’re not permitted to add anything to it anymore. It’ll be with me and only I get to access it.”
Olive chuckled against his chest.
“Yes, boss,” she acknowledged and smiled brightly again. This was what she wanted. For her to have her fantasies with Wayne. She had been afraid that he wouldn’t be the type to do those. But who knows, maybe he could be. She would make him be.
‘Remember, there are things you two need to talk about. Don’t hide things from her anymore. It is after you tell her about everything you are, that I can give you the temporary cure for the possession from the Green Witch. Don’t slow us down, Knight,’ Mufasa’s creepy voice snaked into Wayne’s mind through the mindlink. He frowned at that old man like he was right in front of him. But from the sound of it, he was with Ami.
‘I will talk with her now,’ he replied curtly and shut his mind completely from mind linking. He pulled up Olive from her kneeling position and held her waist.
“Babe, it’s high time we talk about… me,” he stated firmly.
“You mean… what you are,” Olive responded and be nodded.
“Okay. It’s fine with me. Right here?”
“Let’s go inside,” Wayne held her hand and pulled her along. They entered the bedroom and he led her to the sofas. She sat down and he walked to the bar to get them drinks.
“When my mother was younger, she had met a prophetess who told her that she would find her mate. And together they would have a son who would be really powerful. She was told that her new family would be the best thing that would ever happen to the world. So, when she happened to find my father she left with him immediately. Rumours had it that she had a lover before, but didn’t want to lose my father,” Wayne began as he took a bottle of wine and poured it into two glasses.
“She had me just a year into her marriage with father. And at first, I seemed like an ordinary child. But when I clocked five, there could sense an extraordinary strength in me. My mother was the only one who could calm me down whenever I went on a rampage to destroy things which happened anytime I got angry. Unfortunately, she was murdered by this ex lover and I lost all controll,” he sat beside Olive after handing her the glass. He placed his head on the seat, looking up at the ceiling and thinking far into his past.
“That was when Mufasa came into my life. He had been watching me. Had been helping my mother train me secretly. He began to nurture me and give me these weird lessons that gave me control over my willpower and strength. That was what gave me a little of a normal teenage life. Plus, when father remarried and I now had two step siblings who looked up to me.”
“What happened to Vanessa and Shem’s mother? I forgot to ask Dolly,” Olive muttered after he paused.
“Oh that sly woman. She couldn’t stand me. She left.”
“What? She left because she couldn’t stand you?”
“After dad died, she left. I don’t know why though. I don’t care.”
“What about her children? She didn’t care about them?”
“No. She just left.”
Sensing that Wayne didn’t want to talk about that topic, she stopped asking questions and made a mental note to ask Dolly or Vanessa instead.
“So, continue with your story,” she encouraged and sipped her drink while looking at him from over the glass.
“When I clocked eighteen, that was when it all came back to me. I… I regained that anger. It was more like fury. It was then I realized that I could control the temperature. And it was then I accidentally killed a guard by choking him with the poison on my fingertips. I was so scared. But could no longer stop it because it had been stopped for too long. Shortly after, I was made the Alpha of the pack. And I grew greedy for power and authority. I began to bring down the threats I perceived. And when the other packs tried to wage war against me, I would fight against them alone. Yet they wouldn’t win. I would turn out victorious against hundreds of men. That was the beginning of The Big Bad Alpha.
