The Sudden Attack

Book:Mated To The Big Bad Alpha Published:2024-9-7

Wayne was getting very crazy about Olive but was putting on a very fake layer of sanity. He was acting sane, hiding the raging monster inside of him. He was scared he would hurt her, hurt his mate. He had his tiny fears, which was why he had been holding back from ‘touching’ her ever since. But Mufasa said it was fine. That he could control it no matter what because he loved his mate.
‘Love,’ the word rang in his head. He loved Olive.
All of a sudden, he sprang away from her and stood feets away.
“Wayne?” Olive called, totally startled by what he just did.
“What happened?” she asked. He staggered back and his eyes began to flash between red and gold uncontrollably, the blue pushed back completely.
“Wayne!” Olive shouted because he had fallen to the floor, his veins popping out. Wayne was gasping for air as he struggled on the ground.
“Baby! Someone help!” Olive shouted louder as she knelt beside him and tried to hold him down. The next second, she was flung away into the air and landed right next to the sofa set. She looked up and saw Wayne standing already, his eyes a mixture of black and red. And his hair moving… again. Olive’s heart failed.

Lord Lina sat in her new home, a golden cage, surrounded by golden lights. This wasn’t in Wayne’s Alpha cell yet. But she couldn’t wait to get there and complete the mission.
She was just a chip in a huge machine. They were more stronger people who were working against The Big Bad Alpha. But he didn’t know. He had no idea the reason they were stronger because of his vulnerability towards his mate.

Wayne took slow, menacing steps towards where Olive was on the floor. Each step of his vibrated the ground and chills were emanating from every corner of him. Olive moved backwards with her butt, unable to stand and run due to fright. The person walking towards her wasn’t her mate anymore. That wasn’t Wayne.
“Help me!” she screamed. If only she could mind link with the others already. She could have gotten rescued from whatever had taken over Wayne.
However, she could only hope that someone close heard her scream.
As Wayne got nearer, she got determined to run no matter what. Even if he would attack her as she ran. Therefore, Olive sprang up and skillfully jumped over the sofa she was nearest to. She decided to run straight for the door as the sofa was presently between her and him. But to her greatest surprise, immediately she ran forward, he materialized in front of her from where he was before.
Her mind froze when she saw that. Wayne could teleport? No wonder he always had a way of appearing right behind her sometimes.
“Wayne please,” she pleaded as she moved backwards and he moved forward on her. His eyes were still a mixture of gold and black. And his hair wouldn’t stop swaying as if dancing in a slow wind. How about the bone freezing cold that had engulfed the room? She was freezing.
Wayne’s lips curled into a thin smile.
“Who knew you were this fragile? Already scared of me?” he asked in a voice so menacing.
“If I should kill you right here and now, it would be easier for me. Way easier. I can’t believe I have been waiting patiently for this moment. Do you know how long Lord Lina has been pretending to be captive to Wayne? Just so she could realize when he finally finds his mate?”
Olive’s eyes furrowed in deep confusion. What was he talking about? Why was he acting as if he was possessed?
Wait… possessed. Something had possessed Wayne! Her eyes widened as she understood the meaning of his words. Someone had been monitoring him to know when he would find his mate. But why?
“Just so I could kill you! This is for the future! We can not… I, the Green Witch can not allow him to rise to that position!” Wayne screamed and that moment, a dark-grey smoke began to emanate from him and moved in snake-like tendrils towards her. She screamed but suddenly, a bright yellow light came out of nowhere at Wayne and he fell to the ground unconscious. Olive stood dazed, with her heart beating so loud she was sure it could be heard downstairs.
“Quick! He’ll only be unconscious for a few seconds,” a worried and urgent voice said to her. She felt a warm, slender hand encase her wrist and drag her away. She looked at the person and realized it was the red haired assistant of Mufasa.
“What… what did you do?” Olive asked.
“Knocked him out. But he’s too strong for me and would only be out for at most, thirty seconds. We have to get out of here now!” she urged and they sprang into a race.
They ran out of the quarters and into his private elevator immediately he actually started standing to his feet in the bedroom.
Olive sat down on the floor and held her hair in bunches with both hands. She had just escaped another death by the hand of her mate.
“Are you all right?” the girl asked her and bent beside her. Olive shook her head.
“What was that? Why was Wayne like that?” she asked. Tears were welling up in her eyes. What was Wayne Knight? Was this what Dolly was talking about?
“I don’t know what happened to him. But Mufasa could have an answer. I heard he had been nurturing Wayne’s powers ever since he first had them,” she answered.
“Wayne’s powers? What exactly does he do? Isn’t he just a werewolf?” Olive found herself asking even when she knew her mate was not just a werewolf. The fact that he had three wolves was enough to tell her he wasn’t ordinary. But what was he? What being or creature had three wolves?
“I’m afraid I cannot answer that. Because even I don’t know. If I should tell you the little I know, it would just confuse you more because you need a thorough explanation, Olive,” the lady answered sweetly that it calmed Olive down. She heaved a deep sigh and got up as the door opened. They were at the ground floor.
“What are we going to do about him? He could… he could kill people,” stated Olive.
“The guys should be there already. I called them.”
She took a turn towards the backyard and Olive knew she was taking her to Mufasa’s dungeon.
“How did you know I was in trouble?”
“Mufasa sent me to you. I don’t know if he knew what was happening. But he asked me to come get you. I came right in time to see him about to strike. I called Jake immediately I blasted him.”
They hurried towards the buildings outside but acted as if nothing was wrong, so they didn’t get any stares apart from the normal ‘she’s his mate’ stares that Olive received. They were in the dungeon in no time and Mufasa offered her a hot mug of hot chocolate.
“I love chocolate drinks. They make me feel so refreshed,” he said in his usual teasing voice. Olive took a sip and nodded.
“You make nice chocolate drinks,” she acknowledged and smiled at him. He returned the smile in an amazing way that she felt so proud, as if she had achieved something big and he was praising her for it.
“Ah, my child. I might look so olden and ancient, but I’m a bit modern. I love ice cream. Chocolate ice cream. You should have one with me one of these days.”
Olive chuckled and nodded
“I will be looking forward to it.”
Mufasa sat on the armchair nearest to the fire and threw invisible particles into it. Olive wondered if he kept the fire burning always.
“Ami told me what happened with your mate,” he finally said after a bit of silence.
“He… he turned into something else,” she said in a shaky voice.
“Yes. And I must say this is quite unexpected. Wayne has not had such occurrence for years,” Mufasa mused.
“What causes this?”
Just as Mufasa was going to answer, Wayne’s scent filled the room. Olive’s eyes shot up at him and she stood to her feet immediately, moving backwards too. But Wayne was back to normal. He looked like Wayne but a very dejected and pathetic Wayne. He was held by Jake as if he couldn’t stand properly.
“Olive,” he called her with a broken voice. She moved backwards with her mug still in her hands.
“I’m sorry,” he said and his men could swear he was going to cry any second.
“Don’t leave me. Please,” he begged and would have fallen to the ground if Jake wasn’t holding him firmly.
Olive gulped and glared at him.
“I’m sorry. But I already did.”
