Mathew POV.
“I nu like winter,” the baby kitten whines, it’s not even winter anymore, most of the hard storms have passed, with her hidden either in my arms or under the bed, or above the fridge, the one thing I never expected to ban or say out loud, you’re not allowed to get on top of the fridge.
“The winter is almost over, you can go outside to play,” I encourage her, first I was trying my best to get her inside the house, but now I’m trying to get her out of the house.
“I stay in with daddy,” she says hugging me tight, she had one of us at the house the whole winter, even her and Seth are finally getting along for once, maybe it’s the movies they share, and the popcorn.
“But daddy needs to get out,” I tell her, I didn’t really need to, but I wanted to get her out of the house, even for a little bit.
“Me stay,” she says but her hands were still hugging me tight, she doesn’t want to let me go.
“No one is staying in the house,” I say out loud as at the same time I was connecting to my brothers and nephew. ‘Everyone get out of the house today,’ I ordered them.
‘Having some fun time uncle?’ Seth asks making me roll my eyes at him.
‘If you want we can keep the kitten,’ Nicky offers.
‘I’m not going to have sex, I’m taking the kitten outside,’ I inform them through our bond.
‘We can take the kitten off for a couple of days, or send you away,’ Zane suggests, we all have our flings and one night, being the rulers of the pack means we would never have a mate, it’s why we need someone to connect with not for the sexual side, humans are enough for those, but we need to connect with someone for our mental and spiritual state, we need a witch, it’s why Lucifer sends every pack rulers a witch to connect with.
Some go sexual, others don’t, we don’t always need the sexual part, the witch could be a little, a pet, or a submissive, or even a dominant, we just need that special someone, and Iris is ours, and I plan on spending the day with her, it’s time to get out of the house. I dressed her for the day, I didn’t add too many layers as Zane does, most of the cold has passed, and all she needs is warm clothes on and that’s about it.
“Ready to go?” I ask her, she shakes her head no, she didn’t want to go, but that’s fine, she’ll get over it soon.
We left the house with her whining and being grumpy about the cold, my last resort and solution was to zip her inside my hoodie, keeping her close and warm through our walk, it’s not going to be a long walk, it’s just checking on the pack, making sure that the winter didn’t hurt or break them.
“Alpha, we got a problem,” one of my patrol guys says coming running toward me, I turned to him with my baby still giggling at all the attention she was getting.
“What problem?” I ask him with a growl, did he have to ruin our moment and the mood with the bad news?
“We got some visitors on hand,” he says, I didn’t allow anyone inside my territory, who does have the nerves to step on the royal pack territory, I’m the ruler of my species, this is one hell of a daring visitor.
“Iris, time to go home,” I say, I need all of my brothers, but Seth can keep an eye on her, or she can stay with the pack members for now.
“Sir, better keep her close,” the same patrol guy says, they are strong and I could depend on them, but anything politics or how to deal with my pack.
“Why?” I growl at him, now he’s the one crossing the lines with me, he took a step back, showing me his neck as a sign of submission.
“I’m sorry alpha, but they came in with the threat for the kitten, they want to have their revenge on Lucifer by her,” he says making me growl, I can’t bite his head off, not when it wasn’t his fault, but I was very tempted to do so.
“Send them over,” I tell the patrol, keeping Iris in her hiding place, I called the rest of my brothers and Seth, just in case I need him in any time.
“Alpha,” the twins were the first to get over here, taking their place on my left while Zane’s space was on my right.
“Let’s welcome our guest,” I say with a growl, not many people love Lucifer, but since I decided to swore my loyalty to him, the whole species had to do that as well.
