Zane POV.
“Hey little man,” I say hugging our last family member Seth, he might be an adult in human age, but in wolf words, he’s just a puppy, people like us who live close to forever, we take our sweet and long time before we mature or become adults.
“Uncle Zane, I’m not little anymore,” he says with a big pout, he’s been away through the whole summer, he’s spending time with his human mother, and his human family, but it’s time to get back home, even with him having human genes in him, he’s still a wolf who needs to spend time with the pack and bond with us.
“Sure, sure, get in the car,” I say getting in the car, I had to drive all the way toward the town to bring his bum back home, although he thinks he’s big now and can drive, we don’t allow him to, we prefer to keep him under our supervision as much as possible.
“Did you have fun,” I ask him, he’s been away for the whole summer, away at the time that the accident happened, he didn’t know about hearts being broken, but now we are broken and on the way to being healed all over again, with Kitten being the newest addition to the family.
“So much! Mom is the best, but she keeps trying to get me married, but I told her that I’m waiting for my mate, and then we went swimming…” he kept on talking but I kind of turned him off, I don’t want to hear any more, I was worried about Kitten back at home, is she okay with Mathew being there for her.
“Before we get home,” I say, getting my nephew’s attention, he turned to me, finally shutting up.
“Yeah?” he says, excited as the small puppy that he is.
“We got a new addition to the family,” I say monitoring his reaction.
“Who? Another witch?” he says, he was never a fan of the witch or us bonding with her, maybe he’s the only who saw her for who she is for real, he had better sight than all four of us.
“No, it’s not her, she left, but we got a new addition,” I say, he smiled a big wide smile knowing that the witch is gone.
“Whom?” he says with a frown this time, he doesn’t want anyone else to take his place as the house’s youngest.
“Iris, she’s a kitten, and she’s a little,” I say explaining things he would understand about the little girl.
“A little?” he says the frown getting deeper now.
“Yes, she’s such a young kitten, you’ll love her,” I assure him, but his frown said otherwise, he’s not happy about a little being around.
“Okay,” he says, not meaning it really.
The rest of the drive wasn’t that long, I connected to my alpha asking him how things are going, we were almost there.
‘The kitten agreed for us to become her cg’ Mathew, my alpha tells me the best news ever.
“We’re home,” I tell Seth getting out of the car and picking up his things since he was busy running inside, I followed him slowly, dropping his things in the laundry room, he’s an adult in his mother’s eyes, but he’s not one to do his own laundry. I finished that and went toward the kitchen to check what’s the dinner for the night, I walked in to see Mathew hugging Seth who was too busy telling him everything while the kitten had the biggest pout over her face.
“Hey baby,” I say trying to get her attention, but her eyes stayed on the alpha the whole time.
“Iris, Iris,” I say again, and again, finally picking her up and holding her to get her attention.
“Hey,” she says the frown still over her face.
“I heard we became your caregivers now, we should celebrate right?” I ask her but she only nods her head yes.
“Why so sad? Don’t you want me? And the twins?” I ask her, does she only want the alpha? It would break our hearts to know she only wants the alpha, but we’ll do anything she wants to make her happy.
“Me want you,” she says hugging me finally agreeing to be mine officially.
“God, I can’t wait to be your daddy, and to spoil you so badly,” I say making her giggle, she thought she was spoiled before, but it’s nothing compared to what’s coming.
I kept the little one with me for the rest of the night, playing with her new toys, mostly Mathew the grumpy octopus who she won’t put down at all now. Not even when dinner came, and if looks could kill, the ones she and Seth are giving each other are enough to cause a massacre now.
