Bambi POV.
“Eliot,” I say standing next to the house where I used to work, I don’t work there anymore, I don’t want to work there anymore.
“Ahh red, you did come back,” he says with a smile as if he knew that I’m going back, but where else would I go?
“Your offer… the one about work,” I say meaning the time when he told me I could call him, but I didn’t want to talk on the phone, I had to get out of the house.
“Yes, yes, that, we can’t talk here, how about you meet back after my shift?” he asks me, I wasn’t going in the house, I’m not wearing the uniform, it was ripped off my body and I’m not going to put it on, not ever again.
“I don’t have much time,” I say, I also didn’t have anywhere to go either.
“Just walk around, remember the stone we sat on once?” he asks me, back when we were friends.
“Yes,” I say, my face not moving, I looked tired, angry, broken, I couldn’t show many emotions, not right now, crying is a privilege for the rich and not the poor.
“Go there, I’ll follow as soon as possible,” he says, I only nod my head yes, I can do that, I start the walk toward the stone, it’s behind the house, in the backyard, walking toward the woods, the one where the wolves are free to run, this time I’m not scared or worried of meeting any wolf, let them come and eat me, please, put me out of my misery, but what would my mother do without me, I have to survive for me and her.
Once I made it to the stone, after a good long walk when you’re walking along with friends, you won’t even know or notice how long you’ve been walking for, the company is everything, back before, before the let’s call it incident, my days felt like they’re taking forever to pass, maybe I didn’t end up being too tired, but Ryker did manage to give me a headache most nights.
I sat and started to look over the wood, the green, the trees, my mind was wondering off, I could imagine myself running in these woods, laughing, enjoying the sun, enjoying my time, instead I was sore and in pain, hardly able to sit properly or do anything else.
“So red! You’re in the job?” Eliot says making me jump, he just sneaked from behind me, or maybe he just caught me when my mind was elsewhere.
“The job? What’s the job?” I ask him.
“Well the job includes what you did last night, but minus the screaming, and you have to be more submissive,” he says, I felt like my body was thrown with a bucket of ice, every hair on my body was now standing, my inside was shivering.
“I’m not… I won’t…” I say my voice shivering, showing off some of my fear when I didn’t want to.
“Ahh, I get it, I get it… you want to start with something easier,” he says with a chuckle, he didn’t care or mind that I have been abused, used, and hurt, for him it was all work for him.
“Yes, something easier, how much would it pay me?” I ask him, I know I was paid a good amount of money yesterday, but I don’t know if every job would be the same.
“You’ll be paid depending on the job, you’ll be something similar to arm candy for the supernatural, you’ll get sent clothes, you’ll have to wear them, look beautiful and keep them entertained for the night,” he says, it’s similar to what I told Colin, it’s not the worse thing ever.
“I don’t want Ryker to touch me again,” I say, if I went out with Ryker, what if he did what he did before.
“Why not Red? He hurt you didn’t he?” he asks me getting closer to me, our eyes meeting now, I nodded, tears going down my face as I tried to wipe them away.
“He didn’t have the right to,” I say a sob breaking through my body, this hurt, hurt too badly.
“But he’s supernatural, they own us, humans, you know that you live in this world with us,” he says, he was right.
“But I’m hurt Eliot, you’ve sold me off!” I say accusing him of hurting me so badly, it did hurt so badly.
“He would have done it anyway, he had his eyes on you, if it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have gotten paid for it,” he says as an explanation, as an excuse, but that wasn’t good enough.
“I thought we were friends!” I yelled at him.
“We are friends! I’m here to help you, get you work that actually pays you!” Eliot yells back at me, what other option didn’t I have? Fight with him, hate him, leave him, but then I’ll be jobless and broke, how would I take care of my mother if I don’t have a job and can’t afford her medicine?
“Fine,” I say through my tears, not sure what to say anymore.
“He hurt you, but now you’re in control, not him, why allow him to be on top and be strong, push him back, take back the control,” he says, that was a sick concept.
“You gave him my control away,” I say, I can’t take back what he gave away.
“But you can have it back, we all started as victims once,” Eliot says, I wasn’t sure if I should be sorry for him or scared of him.
“Forget it Eliot, I don’t want to be near Ryker,” I say, refusing to get near him ever again.
“Fine, you’ll ask to be with him soon, you’ll want your revenge,” Eliot says.
“When would the next job be?” I ask him instead, ending the argument about Ryker.
“You’re not working tonight, tomorrow, I’ll send you the dress, you know how to fix your hair and make-up?” he asks me, I have to look good, right, an arm candy.
“I can do those,” I say, Colin could help as well.
“Great, then you got a job, there’s many in the market for redheads,” he says.
“They won’t touch me, you’re not selling of again? Are you?” I ask him, not believing him anymore, not trusting him anymore.
“Nope, that would cost them extra, I’ll be there, I’ll drop you off, and I’ll pick you up. It’s a dinner, you only have to look pretty,” he says.
“Fine,” I say agreeing with him, I need the money.
