You think you are the evil ones?

NALEDI’S POV
I was moved back to my room.
Apparently, the big bad Alpha couldn’t handle having his little toy broken before he had his hands on them, so he decided to upgrade my prison.
Now I was allowed a cold meal in the morning, a shower and a bed. The room had been modified and there was not a single window in sight. The doors were sealed shut except for when Korah came to serve me food.
You heard it right. Korah and Marcus had been set free but with a price. They had their powers locked down and they were reduced to mere servants in the Cosa Nostra.
It was comical to watch her come in every day and persuade me to have a meal knowing fully well that the day I was going to taste anything that came from this man was the day I inadvertently die.
Since I was going to die anyway, I decided it was best I did with whatever little dignity I had left. I had already sold myself short by falling in love with the enemy and getting imprisoned by him. I couldn’t go any lower than this.
“You need your strength, Naledi. Eat the darned food.” Korah gritted.
She was upset. Angry even. When have I ever cared?
“Don’t waste away like this.” She dropped the plate on the floor and squatted beside me. “You have an opportunity to live. You betrayed him and he gave you a chance at life. You should be grateful and take what you are handed gleefully.”
I scoffed, “Just like you and Marcus?” I felt a bite in my stomach but I ignored it as usual. “Let me guess, Marcus is out there too, taking his punishment gleefully and thankful for the life he’s been given?”
That did it.
“You really are a bitch!” She seethed, “How dare you mock him when you are the sole reason for all of this? You and your fucking father!”
I was weak but the last thing I’d stand for was this woman speaking down on my dead father. The same one Caellum murdered and told me right off the bat that he loved it.
“Look at you. Defensive little shit.” I gritted, “Did he put you up to this? Did Caellum send you here to break me, to get me to cave so he can mess with my head like I did his? Pathetic.”
“You know what? You are right. I do think the Alpha is pathetic. I think he is downright crazy to let you live after what you have done.” She got on her feet and kicked the plate of food. “You know what? You don’t deserve to eat.”
“You fucking betrayed the Cosa Nostra and sold information that cost us our millions and you are sitting here, acting all high and mighty?” Her anger increased as she spoke. “You think the Alpha is the devil?” She scoffed in disbelief, walking around the place.
“I’ll tell you who the devil is.”
“The devil is a man that sells pregnant women, children and fucking babies for the sake of making money. A devil is the one who is ready to bring everything down, kill families, hurt and enslave thousands for their benefit.”
“Since I walked earth there’s only been two men who have proven to be devils, Naledi. And you’d be shocked to know their names.” Her breath was harsh, and her anger palpable.
“Arturo Morello and Dante Rogers.”
Lies. She was a fucking liar.
I got up to my feet and gave her a resounding slap.
“How dare you? How dare you say such things to my face?” My body shook from both anger and weakness.
Korah blinked, flexing her jaws and smiling.
“You know, I could kill you without a moment’s thought.” Her eyes were hostile, “I could but I won’t. Because I am nothing like you. Or your dipshit of a father.”
I watched her walk away and shut the door right behind me and I couldn’t say a word. I fell on the floor, still shaking. There was no way my father was such a person. There was no way in hell.
Korah was trying to mess with my head. I’ll be a fool to let her have her way. I reiterated those thoughts in my head, affirming them until I fell asleep. Hungry.
I was awakened by a splash of water. I opened my eyes and sure enough, Marcus was standing there, looking like a ghost of himself.
I smirked, knowing the reason for his sudden appearance. “What? Did Korah come running to you? Are you here to avenge her? Let me guess, you want to show just how in love you are with her?”
He looked taken aback. But hid it with well with a cold look that covered his face.
“I regret allying myself with you.” His words reeked of hatred. “I regret thinking that anything good will come from the Roger lineage.”
Confusion marred my face.
“You think we are the evil ones? You think you are the self-righteous?” He walked closer to me, “I’ll tell you this for free. You are no different from Arturo. Do you know how I got into the Cosa Nostra? I’ll tell you.”
“I used to be a prisoner at the Roger pack. I and Korah. Does that ring a bell? Why the hell do you think I’ve called you ‘my lady’ right from the onset? We used to be tormented and used for our powers by your father.”
“Us alongside thousands of others who were sold for peanuts and traded around packs. Until some fucking deal went wrong and your piece of shit of a father decides to retaliate by kidnapping and killing the Luna of the Cosa Nostra.”
“That marked the beginning of the end of your father’s tyranny, and when Caellum came for payback, he exterminated the entire pack and set us free! So yes, I am forever indebted to Caellum and it was a betrayal on my side to think you would be any better than your father.”
“You should be ashamed of yourself. Fucking conniving with Nicolai and selling information to him. If there is anything I hate the most, it’s a fucking rat. One who refuses to take accountability for her crimes.”
“Caellum loved you. And that love has cost him billions. You claim to love him and what has it cost you? You are such a self-centered bitch who throws a fit when things don’t go her way. You can’t see anything right but yourself and it’s a pity I thought you were anything more.”
I couldn’t speak. My mouth opened to defend myself. To say something and refute the things he has said but nothing came out. “The Alpha will address you tomorrow, but I assure you wouldn’t live long enough to see that day if you as much as breathe wrongly towards Korah ever again.”
His tone was threatening. “I might have lost my powers, but I have a billion other ways to make you regret what you have done.”
