Rosiley browsed through the recent years’ profit report of the Group in a serious and focused manner.
On her computer screen, the title of a file was in bold black letters??
“The Group’s development prospects in the next decade.”
If she wanted the shareholders to back her up, she had to come up with something, which was why she had to write a report on the future prospects of the company.
However, she wasn’t an expert on how to run a company, and the profit reports gave her a headache.
When Sachin came home, he was told by Auntie Wu that his wife had gone upstairs as soon as she came back and didn’t want to be disturbed.
But it was already dinner time, and Auntie Wu was hesitating about whether to go up and call her for dinner.
“I’ll get her.” Sachin smiled at Auntie Wu, then went straight up the stairs.
She had to be worried about the shareholders’ board meeting of the Group that would take place three days later. Corey had told him everything, and he also said that she could handle it herself.
Sachin’s lips curled up into a faint smile. She was always so hopelessly confident, but then she would get framed each time. He really didn’t know what to do with her.
He pushed the study door open and saw her sitting in front of the desk.
As he approached her, he heard her murmuring.
“What the hell is a change in fair value? Why does this profit report look so complicated?”
She didn’t even notice that someone had entered the room, as she was completely immersed in the report in her hand.
Sachin couldn’t help smiling, and he gently tapped on the desk.
Upon hearing the sound, she raised her head and her eyes lit up the moment she saw him.
“You’re back, Sachin.”
For some reason, Sachin felt like a prey who was targeted by a hungry wolf, and he felt a chill run down his spine.
“Dinner’s ready,” he said.
“I’ll eat later.” Rosiley put down the report in her hand, stood up, and pulled him over. “Sachin, help me take a look at what’s going on with this report.”
She pulled him to sit down on the leather chair and bent over to point at the paperwork on the table, as she turned to look at him with wondering eyes. “What does this fair value stand for?”
Sachin stared at her and asked, “How come you are suddenly interested in these reports?”
Rosiley pursed her lips, then straightened up and said, “I had to do something to convince the shareholders that I was capable enough to manage the Group, so…”
She shrugged her shoulders with a helpless look on her face.
Sachin raised his eyebrows, and out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at the open file on the computer screen, and he turned to check it out. He couldn’t help smiling after seeing the title on it.
“You’re really well-prepared.” He teased her with a smile.
“Didn’t you tell me that we can’t fight an unprepared battle?”
Rosiley curled her lips and felt a little annoyed by his teasing.
Despite noticing her annoyance, Sachin nodded with indifference. “I did say that, but there are things that you simply cannot master on the spot.”
“True.” Rosiley dropped her shoulders in defeat. It was indeed a cruel reality that she could not deny.
If a simple profit report was already killing her, then she didn’t even want to imagine the rest.
The board meeting would take place in three days, and her future seemed so bleak.
Nevertheless…
Something seemed to come to her mind, and her pretty yet gloomy face suddenly lit up. She smiled slyly and said, “But haven’t I got you?”
“Oh really?” Sachin raised his eyebrows again. “Do you mean you want me to help you out?”
