Am I clear?

NALEDI’S POV
I walked out of the car with shaky legs, trailing behind Caellum who led us to a bar.
“Closed until 9;00 pm.” A hefty man stopped us at the entrance.
“Tell that bastard Luchesse the Capo is here to meet,” Matteo spoke behind us, carrying a murderous expression.
The guard remained unphased. Two things – He didn’t know who he was dealing with, or he already signed his death certificate.
I thought both.
“The Boss does not want to-”
A bullet made its way between his eyes and I watched in horror as the man slumped, with his eyes wide opened.
That was Caellum.
“Where were we?” He said like he didn’t just friggin blow someone’s head off.
“I’ll go in first.” Matteo led the way inside the bar, before we could take three steps in, we were surrounded by men in black, pointing guns at us in broad daylight.
I had heard about the rate of crime in the Italian streets but I must confess, I was awed by the guts of these people. The funny thing was, that most of them were humans who knew nothing about the world around them.
Fragile little things, I could break them in pieces without breaking a sweat. Caellum on the other hand could do much worse. And I kid you not.
“Put down your guns.” Matteo snarled, standing in front of Caellum. “Are you courting death?!”
They couldn’t take a hint. One of them, another clueless human cocked his gun, with a deranged look on his face. “You put down one of ours, It’s only sane we pay you with the same coin! Kill them!” He roared but Caellum was faster.
Within a blink of an eye, the head of the darned human was on the floor, and Caellum’s claws were withdrawn, his hands dripping with blood. His eyes raged but a wicked smirk shaped on his lips, “Anyone else?”
He looked like the animal he was with his fangs bared. The humans shivered with fear, unable to understand what they were seeing. I didn’t blame them. It wasn’t every day you got to see a half-transformed werewolf alpha and mafia lord.
“Alpha Caellum.” A man clad in black walked up.
I could see the tattoo around his wrist. He was one of ours. His tone held reverence for the Alpha. “Forgive my men.” He got on one knee, “They were ignorant to attack you.”
Caellum retracted his fangs and returned to his normal human sense. “What do we do? They already saw my other side.” He hummed, taking a white handkerchief from the man’s breast pocket and cleaning the blood. “We don’t want them talking.”
His tone seemed like he was concerned, but I knew better. We all knew better. None of these men would escape death. Their fates were decided the moment they saw him kill using his supernatural strength.
The existence of werewolves has always been a myth to the outside world. A fictional tale about the creatures of the night. And that was a result credited to the werewolf king. Who covered the existence of we animals by making us a part of the human community.
Dividing our packs to different parts of the world and training us to survive using human skillset. But of course, werewolves had pride. We couldn’t enter the human world and be a servant when we were superior in everything.
This was what birthed the first mafia pack. A pack of werewolves that refused to go through the conventional way of making it in the human world, and instead, created businesses to keep themselves independent, as well as a core part of the society.
The Casa Nostra pack. The founding mafia pack began its activities by supplying humans with Cocaine and other illicit materials they were able to retrieve from a mafia gang they usurped.
It was clear the Cosa Nostra had a thing for exterminating people from their origin, and that without care. My life’s mission would be achieved when I made them care, and more importantly, regret what they had done.
“They are under an oath of silence.” The man said in confidence. “Anything that happened here, stays here.”
“And what if I simply don’t want them to exist?” Caellum asked offhandedly. “What then?”
“We have a vampire on our payroll.” The man said and that caught my attention.
“Vampires?” I couldn’t help myself.
All eyes pinned on me.
“Answer the lady.” That was Caellum. “When did we get vampires under our payroll?”
“When we started recruiting humans. I realised there might be cases like this and when I caught a vampire with the ability to remove certain memories, I figured it was a good idea to have them as part of our team.”
“And when did you plan to report to the headquarters about your new recruitments?” Matteo asked, looking like he was seconds away from blowing off his head.
“I apologise, Beta Matteo. The idea is still in its trial stage. I’d hate to report a job that hasn’t been well structured.”
“Do you realise the dangers of harbouring a vampire alongside humans, Luchesse?” Caellum asked, walking around the humans who were shaking on their knees.
“I believe I have reasons to be wary of them, but with the current arrangement, there is nothing to be worried about.”
“And that is?”
“The vampire I recruited is fairly new to his abilities. With my expert guidance, he will be more of an asset than a threat.”
“And the moment he turns around and decides to give in to the hunger he feels? What then?” I asked, drawing their attention once again.
They’ve got to stop looking at me like they just realised I was in the room.
“It’s stupid to put this amount of humans in the company of a newly transformed Vampire. If you ask me, that is a danger waiting to happen.” I continued, “Taking to fact we are trying to be inconspicuous and protect the knowledge of the supernatural, I think it would turn a lot of eyes when a dozen of humans show up in the streets, dead and drained of blood.”
“The lady makes a valid point.” For the first time, Matteo agreed with me.
“I said I had it handled.” The man gritted, definitely not fond of our takes in his recent arrangements.
“I want it scrapped.” Caellum finally spoke. His words were law. “Kill the humans and I want the head of the vampire sent to me before daylight tomorrow.” He raised the man’s head and their eyes met. “Am I clear?”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Good. Let’s get down to business shall we?”
