Chapter 54

Book:Rose & Thorn: The Perfect Duo Published:2024-9-3

Melody slowly opened her eyes, her senses assaulted by a relentless headache and soreness that seemed to pervade every inch of her body. Grimacing, she attempted to sit up, but the sharp pain that coursed through her forced her back onto the bed.
With a groan, she clenched her eyes shut, desperately trying to ignore the throbbing in her head. After a few moments of bearing the discomfort, she opened her eyes once more, slowly taking in her surroundings.
As her gaze roved over the unfamiliar room, a sense of disorientation settled over her.
Clothes are scattered on the floor, and everything is a mess. She furrows her eyebrows. Clothes? Melody takes a peak under the duvet, and her eyes wide open.
She’s naked!!
“AHHHHH!!!!!!”
She pushes Damian out of bed. He falls with a loud thud on the floor. Melody clutched the duvet to herself, hiding everything she had.
“WHAT!? WHAT HAPPENED!?” Damian gets up and grabs the gun under his pillow.
Melody’s jaw dropped seeing him fully naked.
“AHHHHH!!!!!” both of them screams.
The servants downstairs flinch by the screams. The only calm person is the butler, who keeps cleaning the rug.
“Did you hear that?” one of the maids asks.
“Don’t mind them,” the butler said, chuckling to himself.
“Are you sure? They sound like they are in danger,” another maid agreed.
The butler just chuckles.
Damian pulled up the boxer and laid on the bed with a deep sigh, “What is wrong with you? Screaming at this early morning?”
“What is wrong-Hey!! Are you aware of what happened right now!?” Melody yells at him. “Both of us are naked!!”
“Then?” he arches his eyebrows.
“Why you are so calm!? I… I don’t even remember what happened yesterday,” she ruffles her hair.
He grins, “You don’t?”
She narrows her eyes on him, “What with that grin?”
Damian didn’t answer but just kept grinning. She getting suspicious of him.
“Don’t tell me…”
He smirks. His eyes went down to her body. Melody gasps and follows her gaze. She can’t stop think what she thinking right now. The way he grins and his eyes tell her that whatever she thinks right now is correct.
Melody grabs the pillow and hits him with it. “YOU TAKE MY VIRGINITY!? HOW DARE YOU!?”
“OI! Stop it!” he defends himself.
“Where is the deal where you wouldn’t have physical contact with your wife!?” she yells.
“We were both drunk at that time! What do you expect!?” he grabs the pillow, and stops her from hitting him, “Besides, it’s not me who wants it,”
“What do you mean?” she frowns.
Damian smirks and leans forward, “It’s you. I try my best to push you away but I got too drunk to fight. Well… who knows that you got that side of yours, a naughty side.”
Her cheeks reddened. She could feel the heat on both of her cheeks. Even she didn’t know she had that side. Melody whines and hides under the blanket, only earning a laugh from Damian.
“It’s not funny! I shouldn’t have drunk too much…” she whimpers.
“I told you so. Guess what? You never listen to me,” he scoffs, leaning on the headboard.
Well, she didn’t expect it to be like this. It’s just one drink. How can it be so addictive and strong? Melody whines, burying her face on the pillow.
Damian just smiles to himself before he suddenly realises what she just now. Virgin? It’s not shocking news to him since he could guess she’s a virgin. But, he’s her first? He never be the first for anyone.
It’s not like he cares about it. But, the thought of being Melody’s first somehow… endearing. He felt satisfied and excited in his body since he was the one who had taken it from her.
“You said it was your first?” he questioned for confirmation.
“Yes. I thought… I want to make it memorable, but… it ends up like this,” she mumbles from under the blanket.
“Memorable?”
“Mhm. I want my first to be romantic, gentle and affectionate. It’s also full of love,” Melody peaks her head out and sighs, “What I got is the opposite of it. I don’t even remember what we did, and it was all an accident.”
“Not something I want…”
Hearing her say that stung his heart a bit. Damian couldn’t help but feel guilty. His hands clenched in fists when he saw her sad expression. Of course, every woman wants their first to be memorable and romantic.
Yet, she got the opposite of it.
“So, you want to have memorable things?” he questioned. She nods slowly. “Does that mean… you hate and regret what happened?”
Melody looks at him stunned. “What…”
“I mean…. I take your virginity. I might not be someone who you want to be your first. Not to mention, there are no specific things that you describe just now,” he shrugs his shoulder.
He looks calm and unbothered with it but Melody could see something in his eyes. She just couldn’t bring herself to ask. So, the only thing she can do is deny it. It’s not like she regrets doing it with him.
That’s what she thought. She didn’t even feel anger rush in her instead of that, she just felt calm and… happy? She just didn’t expect it to happen.
“I… I didn’t say I regret it or mad at you,” she put her chin on her palms hands.
“But you sound so sad,” he looks at her from the corner of his eyes. “You don’t need to hide it. Just be honest.”
“I am. I am not mad at you. Besides, we’re both husband and wife,” she smiles a bit, hiding the fact that she is sad.
Damian stared at her for a moment. Somehow, he could see the emotion she hid in her eyes. Yet, he doesn’t want to talk about it, knowing it is not a great time. His hand clenched into a fist, hating the fact he did something that made her sad.
“Not going to lie that you were such a loud person last night,” Damian blurt out.
“DON’T EVEN SAY A WORD ABOUT LAST NIGHT!!” Melody yells.
He bursts into laughter. Then, his phone rang. Damian grabs his phone to see Celestia calling.
“What?” he answers.
“Sir, I have got a lot of choices about the rental store. Um… when I analysed it again, I got three best choices that might be good,” Celestia informed me.
“Good job. Send me the location and I will text you to meet where,” Damian speaks firmly.
“Right away, sir,”
The phone call ended. Melody looks at him in curiosity, “What’s wrong?”
He didn’t answer right away. He tossed his phone to her, “Choose the location for your bakery store.”
“That fast?” she looks at him with stunned.
“Yes.”
Melody shrugs her shoulder not expecting that he did the job so fast and seriously. She looks at the location being sent by a woman named Celestia. As she analysed the three locations, she found one location that caught her attention.
It’s near Damian’s mafia base. It might be a good idea since she doesn’t have to worry about any dangerous thing happening.
“I choose this one,” she points at it.
“Any particular reason? It’s not that I care,” Damian grabs his phone from her hand.
“Because it’s near your mafia base,” she answers.
Well, she’s not wrong. Damian quickly texts Celestia to meet him there and handle the rent contract.
“Let’s go, we have to go there,” he gets out of bed.
“Now?” she frowns.
“Yes. You have to plan what theme is your bakery so that I can tell my men to handle everything,” he firmly said.
Melody nods in understanding. She gets out of bed with a blanket wrapped around her and almost falls to the floor. If it’s not because of the desk beside her bed, she already meets the floor.
Damian, who is about to grab his towel, looks at her with confusion, “What is wrong with you?”
“How about you ask yourself that question?” she glares at him.
He pauses for a moment, and then it finally hits him. A smirk tugged on his lips, “Aww, someone is sore. I might be too rough on you, huh?”
She rolls her eyes and limps to the bathroom before slamming the door. “Go to the other bathroom!!”
Damian let out a low chuckle. Then, his smile slowly faded. He looks at his bare hands and notices something is changing in him. He has sex with someone. He let her touch him.
He knows it is bad to lie to her about he is too drunk to be aware of what he did.
Yet, he didn’t even flinch or disgusted by her touch that night. Not to mention he felt satisfied and excitement rush in his body. He is aware of what he did last night. He knows he can fight her desire.
But…
Why did he give in to her?
