I knew Marcus would do something stupid today, but I never that he would go that far to start up a fight with Jason, I knew he was so ruthless and unrealistic. I cursed the day I met, I cursed bitterly
“Are you okay?” I said breaking the silence in the car as Jason had not said a word since he started driving and now we are not far from home anymore and he still hadn’t made any attempt to say a word.
“I’m fine, Freyja,” he said as he brought the car to a halt
“Don’t worry about me, it was just a fight,
I should be the one worried about you Freyja, hope you weren’t embarrassed?” he asked as he proceeded to talk.
“I shouldn’t have retaliated, I just wanted to protect you, I didn’t mean to embarrass you, I’m sorry I wasn’t the gentleman you thought I was” he said while holding my hands with pain in his eyeballs.
I think this night is not good. Firstly him getting upset with me for intruding into his situation and abruptly stopping the car making me almost have a panic attack and now getting into a fight with Marcus my ex-boyfriend I thought feeling embarrassed and ashamed of what had happened that night.
“I should be the one saying sorry Jason, as you said you wanted to protect me, you didn’t have it in mind to fight and I’m not embarrassed because you made me feel like a woman who was loved and I felt very comfortable with you,” I said pouring out all my mind as I looked into his eyes searching his mind but I found out it was as blank as a chalkboard that had no content on it
I just watched him as he looked at me as if he was lost in a trance he turned towards me and smiled making me give a relieved sigh.
He immediately started the car engine and zoomed off towards the direction of the house as we were just a mile away and it was very close.
I watched him drive as I stole a glance at him now and then as I didn’t know if I could be satisfied with always looking at him because he was very handsome with masculine shoulders, six packs and a baby face.
I hurriedly removed my face as I noticed he was about to look at me, pretending not to notice his gaze one
He took me to my base to drop me off exactly in front of my house.
“Thanks, Jason,” I said really happy as I knew I was too exhausted to walk from the other street down to mine
“It’s okay Freyja, you are looking very exhausted
Just go in, have a fresh bath and have a nice rest, this night had been a long one” he said
“Thanks, Jason,” I said once again feeling genuinely happy and thankful for the ride
I began to pace toward my house gates before going directly to my room, taking off my dress showing my beautiful curve and ready to take a bath before going to enjoy the comfort of my bed
I thought of Jason and how he protected me and how I feel comfortable around him nowadays
I usually thought of him as a scumbag and we have never agreed on this before but now having this kind of feeling towards him makes me think I’m being delusional.
I quickly had my bath and retired to bed, the safest place to be as I was very tired
I woke up still feeling tired but I had obligations and won’t be allowed to take another sleep
I quickly freshened up, picked up the car keys of one of my cars went to the car park took my Lexus rs 300 and drove off toward the hospital
I got to the front of Jason’s apartment and saw his car was still parked there. He wasn’t usually late, maybe he overslept, I thought as I instantly zoomed off.
Jason’s pov
I just wanted to be silent for a while and be able to regain myself and assimilate what had just happened at the party, I haven’t stood up or protected anyone apart from Evelyn for a very long time and now this is happening I’m so confused.

In my throat, I swallowed hard.
I continued driving at full speed as I was letting out my confusion on the poor car wheel, I couldn’t help but feel nervous.
I could hardly understand myself as I couldn’t state if I was Gradually feeling a thing for her or if it was just because I had the chance to see she had a soft heart different from how she acts toward everyone or would I say I thought before I hear her speak
“Are you okay?” she asked me
“I’m fine Freyja,” I said as I brought the car to a halt, feeling a little bit of guilt for embarrassing her
“Don’t worry about me it was just a mere fight, I should be the one worrying about you hope I did not Embarrass you ?” I asked at the same time assuring her I was fine.
After a while, I started the car engine as we were only miles away from our apartments.
I dropped off Freyja at her apartment acting like the gentleman that I was before returning to my apartment.
I got into my house and laid on the couch not wanting to move an inch because I was too tired to move, I laid there not knowing when I dozed off.
I was still fast asleep when I heard the beeping and vibrating sound of my phone which was inside my pants pocket, I stalked my hands into my pocket without being fully awake and slightly opened my eyes to see why it was beeping.
“Fuck….. what the fuck?” I said immediately I saw it was already nine-thirty in the morning and my alarm had been ringing for over three hours now
I quickly unlocked my phone as I saw ten missed calls from Freyja and also from Doctor Robbie the head doctor.
My head was banging very hard, I didn’t remember taking any alcohol, how come I was feeling this tired and dizzy
I quickly refreshed my body before going to my wardrobe to pick clothes to wear as I was not even of flamboyant dressing as other doctors, I just picked any shirt I settled my hands on and fastened my buttons carefully not wanting to button it wrongly and picked a pant to wear that matched the shirt and set out to leave
I was not even functioning well enough to rush now, I stepped out carefully not wanting to miss my steps
I drove towards the hospital as I went in and signed in.
“Doctor Wolfe” I heard my name being called
I looked back and saw Doctor Robbie standing and resting his arms on the reception desk looking at me like he would swallow me in a bit
He was problem upset, I thought because the first day of my work I was also late because of a little girl, Molly Mikealson a girl in their hospital which he didn’t even know until he met her and unfortunately she was his patient, him and Freyja to be precise.
And now today I’m late all because of Freyja, well she wasn’t at fault though, I just overslept
“The least you can do is to give me an explanation for your lateness,” he asked me, mentioning the same words he said the last he quarried me.
“I’m so sorry, I just overslept and I’m feeling a little bit unwell” Not feeling scared because I was addressed as one of the best doctors here and they wouldn’t want to sack me or send me pack I thought with something more or less like pride
He looked at me once again before leaving.
I went straight into Molly Mickelson’s ward and saw her sitting there
“Hey, I said waving to her after opening the door putting a gentle on my face.
“Jason!!” she squealed loudly
“How are you today?” I asked Molly
“I’m okay Jason and you how are you doing today?” she asked
“I’m doing great Molly, just a little bit tired and stressed,” I said
What of your mom? I asked Molly
“She went down the street to get me some fruit as you said fruit is essential in the body and it will help cleanse my blood ” she explained giving a charming smile
The door flunked open as Freyja walked in swaying her hips towards Molly’s bed, she was on her phone and didn’t notice my presence, she raised her brow and saw me as she instantly froze like she had seen a ghost
“How long have you been here “she asked shocked
“Is that supposed to be a good morning I asked missing the dangerous Freyja that would have almost eaten me up?” I said purposely taunting her.
“Hey… she was about to throw her pen on me when she noticed Molly there watching us
She quickly retreated and sent a sharp glare
I let out a wicked grin looking at her as she started taking Molly’s temperature, and went on to check her blood if she was recovering.
I also went to take a test of her whole body making sure everything was in place and there weren’t any complications.
I finished with Molly and bade her goodbye before going to my office.
I got to my office and took a nap when I heard a knock on my door, I instantly thought it was Freyja
“Come in,” I said
I noticed an unknown figure walking towards my desk, jacked off my sleep and stood up still feeling severe headaches as I saw one of the staff, Doctor Lucia coming into my office
“Good day Doctor Wolfe,” she said smiling revealing her white set of teeth
“Good day doctor Lucia, how may I be of help to you ? “smiling as my lips were beginning to quiver from too much fake smile as I was really in pain, thinking there was a sort of emergency that needed my attention.
“I was just passing by and decided to check up on you because you weren’t in the meeting this morning,” she said.
“Ohh… thank you, Doctor Lucia, I’m doing well thanks for checking up on me” I replied still smiling.
“Okay… Doctor Wolfe I’d like to take my leave” she said as she walked slowly towards the door and exited my office.
I looked at her as she left and couldn’t understand why she was being nice to me
I discarded that in my mind as I had a lot to do
And would not want to dwell on a mere staff who was just trying to make me notice her existence.
