“What did you do, Isabelle?” Max roared with suppressed rage as he glared at the frightened pale woman frozen in one spot. He found it crazy that he had been fooled when he discovered what she had done. However, he never knew there was a tracking device on the ship because Kyle had assured him that there wasn’t or maybe he also didn’t know.
“Tch… That bastard”Max cursed as the image of his cousin popped up in his head. “Always thinks he’s one step ahead of me and as for you” he turned his focus back on Isabelle. “You’re going to pay for this. If Liam comes here, I’ll kill him in front of you”
“No, please. I’m sorry” Isabelle pleaded desperately, her eyes welled up in tears as she watched Liam bring out some guns from a barrel thought to contain food supplies. Max and Kyle had agreed to keep it on the ship, in case the unexpected happened.
Max cocked a gun in his hand and confirmed it was fully loaded before grabbing the frightened Isabelle, dragging her out of the ship without a care in the world, unbothered by her constant squirm and yelps.
“Max, please” Isabelle cried out in pain as Max roughly tied her against a tree, hitting her head hard against it. She was still trying to figure out how he had gotten back earlier than she had calculated. She just prayed it wasn’t too late before Liam came to save her, that is, if he didn’t hold a grudge against her for her cruel actions in the past.

“Looks like your savior is here,” Max said fiddling with the gun in his hands, his voice laced with mockery as he glared hard at the chopper in the sky which was about to land in the middle of the island. “Hmph… As long as I have you in my grasp, he won’t dare to lay a finger on me”
As soon as he said that, some men dressed in back filed out of the chopper with guns in their hands as they surrounded the tree where Isabelle was tied to with Max by her side, waiting patiently for orders.
“Hey! There… The scene is quite serene. I don’t think we can get tired if we stay here for months”William who came down from the chopper after the men, had a playful smirk on his lips as he scanned the whole area of the island with his blue eyes.
Max arched an eyebrow at the sight of the man he couldn’t recognize, he subconsciously gripped the pistol in his hands with rage. “Who are you?… ” He shouted at the top of his voice.
“William” Isabelle gasped in surprise, her gaze lingering with a tinge of disappointment which didn’t last for long when she recognized the figure of the last man who stepped out of the chopper. Her eyes glistened with tears as she whispered his name, marveling at his godlike features which were as gorgeous as ever.
Liam’s gaze was blank as he stared at Isabelle’s teary face, but his heart was thumping with great fury as he watched struggle helplessly, trying to loosen herself from the tree. Max was going to pay for treating his Isabelle like a thing.
“Max, let go of her now, and we would all leave this place without shedding a drop of blood” Liam stated, his voice frosty and threatening, his gaze flashing with menace. “Hand her over to me and I’ll spare your life”
“Hahahah” Laughter erupted from Max’s belly as he stared at Liam with amusement in his gaze. “Do you think I’m a fool?… Or you’re the dense one here. Please, get serious Liam” Max uttered as he took steps back to stand right beside Isabelle who was already sweating profusely.
A vein bulged out of Liam’s forehead. “What made you believe she loved you?” He snarled with a condescending voice. “You’re just being delusional”
“You’re the one being delusional here” Max snapped in anger. A scornful smirk appeared on his lips as he thought of something. “I was the one she had an affair with, not you”
“Well, then she used you”Liam retorted with a wide grin. “And after she did use you, you weren’t that attractive anymore, so she dumped you”
Max was burning with rage as he quickly glanced at Isabelle who also looked away with guilt etched on her face. She couldn’t say she used him, but she did lead him on, making him believe she loved him too. However, she was also not unsure of her feelings.
“No problem. It’s fine.. if I can’t have her, no one will”Max uttered, his voice resolute and his gaze unwavering as he placed his pistol close to Isabelle’s head.
William immediately gave the signal to his men with his hand as he watched Max’s action sharply, waiting for his next move.
“Max, please don’t” Isabelle pleaded with tears falling from her eyes. “We could talk this out”
“There’s nothing to talk about, Isabelle” Max uttered, his voice dismissive. “There are two choices you have to pick from it’s either you die or Liam dies” his words created a slight ripple in Isabelle’s heart as she choked severely on her tears.
“Max, do you know the one thing I regret the most?” Liam asked with a mysterious glint flashing through his eyes. “I regret that my father took the pain in your upbringing only for you to end up betraying his son. You have no shame”
“Tch.. that’s the old man’s problem. I didn’t ask for his help” Max scoffed with a mocking tone in his voice. “Leave now or I pull the trigger?”
“You wouldn’t dare” Liam roared in anger.
“Watch me” Max replied, his gaze scanning the area for any suspicious movement. “Where is the other man?”
The instant he asked, he felt a sharp pain on his neck which caused him to let go of the pistol and fall to the ground. He had been distracted by his conversation with Liam and failed to realize when Liam disappeared from his sight. The last thing he saw was Liam untying Isabelle’s hands and a man walked towards him with a handcuff before he blacked out.
“Tie him up and place him in the chopper. So troublesome” William snorted and turned to meet Liam carrying Isabelle in his arms which made him ask, “What happened to her?”
“She passed out”Liam replied with a flat tone in his voice
