“Boss, are you sure it’s okay to leave Penelope in Miss. Rachael’s hands?” Adrian asked, his voice laced with worry as he fiddled with the gun in his hands. “I’m not saying I don’t trust her, I just don’t think it’s okay to hand the job over to her like that”
“Are you starting to doubt my judgment?” Liam asked, his voice laced with indifference, his gaze still on the file in his hands which contained all the information he needed about the men under his command. It was never his intention to use the power of the underworld, but it was the only fastest and reliable way.
Adrian was taken aback by his boss’s question and shook his head vehemently. “I have never doubted you boss and today will not be the first day”
“It’s fine, Adrian. I understand it isn’t easy to work with someone who had been on your enemy’s side before, but she did us a favor by telling us about Isabelle’s missing incident which we would never have known about.”
“Hmm,” Adrian sighed and went back to his business by assisting William to map out the locations. Yes, he never for once doubted his voice, and never would he try to think of doubting it.
“Liam” William called out to him as he sat next to him. “The estimated number of people in the building is forty, and we have just twenty men”
“I see no reason why you should be bothered about that” Liam uttered, his tone nonchalant as he issued an order to those three men who had come in before.”
He paused for a brief moment, examining William’s lazy features today, and thought he was a perfect man for the aggressive type of woman. He asked,” How many men can you take on at once?”
“Ten” William replied without thinking much about it. “You should take on the remaining ten so that the men will be left with one man to deal with till we get who we are looking for?… That reminds me, I should share the pictures of the main targets to avoid shooting them to death.”
“William, you do know you owe your father an explanation for this car and men we took. Or how do you plan to escape punishment?” Liam asked, his voice laced with interest as he waited in anticipation for William’s answer.
“Well, I’ll tell him you made me take it because of your urgent need to save a woman. That way we could both split the penalty evenly. What do you think?….. that’s a good plan, right?’ William’s voice was mixed with sarcasm and playfulness in his voice which made Liam laugh a bit.
“Huh… Are we not there yet?” Adrian asked himself, feeling cold feet. His eyes were green with envy as he watched those two men crack jokes in a life-threatening situation like this. And like God had answered his prayer, William walked up to him and handed over the computer.
“You’ll be here in the van, monitoring and giving us feedback on what is going on outside,” he said. “I want you to keep an eye on everything around, even the things your eyes can’t teach, you leave it there”
“Thank you” Adrian’s lips parted in a smile as happiness flooded his heart at the news of the exchange of taxs. “I’m enjoying this trip with you sir.. I’ll make out the most of it”
“That’s good then. We are here already, do your tech guy job and leave the fighting to us”
A few minutes later, Liam, William, and the twenty men trailing behind them had already set their guns, aiming forward, to avoid misunderstanding.
“There’s a light coming from that end” William mentioned the moment they all tip-toed into the bedding. “That should be where the largest signal stays on. We need to hurry up before they begin to disperse”
“Don’t mess this up” Liam whispered to the men, with a resolute tone. By the time they got to the lit-up room, William fired a bullet to cause of built commotion. They began to run helter-skelter, looking for places to hide from their house.
“Move, now”William ordered to the twenty men behind them before firing his gun towards a certain someone.
“Who are you people?.. and what do you want in my territory?” An angry baritone voice roared angrily at them, furious at the way his men were dropping dead to the ground. “State your business here and let us have our freedom.”
Liam suddenly walked up to the man and said, “I want the notorious trio to speak with them. You will ask them to kneel here right in front of us and convince me with the answers to the question I want to read it”
“Spencer, Raven, and Empress, where are the three of you.. this man wants to know you all well my friend again.
Three men swiftly appeared from nowhere and stood behind the notorious three, binding their hands and letting them go in their weak and butterfly.
“These are the three people you want. I have signed them off, they are no longer a part of my lair, you are free to have them but also let my people go to”
“What makes you think I came here to bargain with you?”Liam spoke with a cold and indifferent tone in his voice. “I came here and didn’t see anything to drink…?… I’m looking for those that had the guts to kidnap my fiancee.
“I’ve heard so much about you guys, the shadow brook. The group that terrorizes the whole city with your dirtiness and insulting nature. The notorious trio, right?… You have a lot of explaining to do” William chipped in as he signaled to some of his men to grab the notorious trio.
“I didn’t mean to do this but you just irritate me so much with your bad ways that it makes me want to raze this place to the ground,” Liam spoke as a mysterious glint flashed through his eyes, his tone merciless and ruthless. “Burn this place” he ordered one of the men.
“Let’s go now” William shouted to the remaining men. , “Phew.. that was easy. I can’t believe they are this weak”
