Liam walked out of the meeting room, wearing a gloomy countenance with Sarah breathing erratically as she tried to keep up with his pace.
“Sir, what do we do?” Sarah cried out in a panicked state. “We’ve lost a huge amount of resources in a few hours and the day isn’t over yet”
Her words made Liam halt in his tracks as he tilted his head to stare at her tear-stained face.
He sighed deeply in understanding of how she felt, but he needed her to be strong. He placed his two hands on her shoulders and muttered to her. “Sarah, do you trust me?” He questioned to which she which she nodded mechanically. “If truly you do, then you need to keep your mind at rest. Everything will be sorted out. I can’t watch the reputation I worked so hard to build crumble to the ground”
Liam turned and continued his walk to his office, leaving Sarah who was lost in a daze. He knew he hadn’t gotten a plan yet, but he was looking forward to something spectacular. Something that would shake the traitors and hide rivals to their bones.
As he got closer to his office, his expression gradually became somber as he instantly recognized the familiar silhouette standing in the waiting room.
“Hey there, Liam. It’s been so long” the man greeted as Liam approached him. “I hope to get to celebrate our reunion someday”
“In your dreams” Liam snapped in annoyance. “What do you want, Kyle?”
“So cold” Kyle’s look became solemn. “I just wanted to check on my ex, is that a problem?”
“I see no reason why we should see each other, we have nothing going on between us anymore. It’s all in the past” Liam stated, his voice stern and serious.
“It doesn’t exist anymore, but remains in our memories” Kyle retorted, then an earth shattering silence ensued immediately as the two of them engaged in a staring contest, tacitly settling a war that could only be understood by the both of them.
“Mr. Callahan, is everything alright?” Sarah who had caught up with her boss asked as she stared her Kyle warily. “Why are you here, Mr. Brenett?”
“It’s nice to meet you too, Sarah” Kyle replied with sarcasm in his voice. “I just came to see how your boss here, is faring after the tragic incident. I cannot help but say, your woman is really wild and most of all, very bold. I mean, she even had the guts to deceive the almighty Liam Callahan” his tone was repulsive and full of mockery.
“Kyle, watch your mouth”Liam snarled, his voice laced with intense anger, his eyes flashing with danger. “It’s isn’t any of your business”
“Oh! It is my business. I mean it has become everybody’s business”Kyle countered with sarcasm in his voice. “You’re a public figure, Liam. There’s nothing called privacy when it comes to people like you”
“Are you done?” Liam asked, his tone unaffected by the taunting thrown at him. “Are you done with your blabbering? You can leave now, I’m not in the mood to entertain your bad attitude”
“A bad attitude?.. Liam, me and you both know who has a bad attitude” Kyle scoffed before a thought crossed his mind. “That reminds me, I saw your investors filing out of the company’s gate with their boxes in their hands. Did you fire them?”
He paused for a moment and continued when he didn’t get a response. His tone was belittling. “Now, I understand. They left you because you couldn’t give them what they wanted. Such a pity”
“Kyle, leave now” Liam half yelled, trying hard to control his anger but Kyle never knew when to stop.
“Chill, Liam. I’m just worried about you”Kyle said, his tone carrying an underlying meaning in it. “By the way, what of Isabelle?… Don’t tell me she left you too”
“KYLE” Liam roared with fury in his heart as he glared hard at Kyle who had completely crossed the line. “Get out of my company, this instant”
“Calm down, Liam. I understand why you’re so worked up. I mean, what if she had run away with another one?” Kyle questioned, with disdain in his voice.
“I don’t care” Liam snapped as he stared intently at one of his greatest enemies. “She can live her life the way she wants”
“Awwwnn.. that’s bad. But at least, you found out before the wedding. You should leave her to be with the man she had a fling with” Kyle said, his voice hinting at something as he smiled with an evil gaze in his eyes. “I’ll leave now since you’re so eager to get rid of me… ”
Kyle majestically walked away with his playful expression gone, which was no replaced by a satisfied one. Liam’s reaction showed that he hadn’t learned that Isabelle was missing from the city. The bustling life in the city was no good, which made it hard for people to detect a missing person. His gaze was filled with excitement as he decided to meet the Highness”
Liam stood rooted to the ground as he tried to calm his anger. He felt that something was wrong but the man ignored the thoughts and said to Sarah”Get me all the information about the market’s stock price, but before and now”

“You have to tell him before he keeps making the wrong decisions” William replied, his hands on the steering wheel of his car which was packed to avoid assessment.
“At least, he will still recognize you. But for us? He gazed intently at the Blindfold he had taken with him. “I can’t see him. It’s quite dangerous”
“Alright, William” Rachael said, her voice laced with anxiety as she alighted from the car and stood in front of the Callahan enterprise, praying silently that she would be allowed in.
” Are you sure you don’t want to accompany me?” Rachael turned to face William who was already on how to leave. “Please”
“No, Rachael I can’t. I have my reasons and you’ll find out sooner or later” William refused her invitation with an explanation. “Just go on your own and don’t mess things up for your friend”
Immediately after he said those words, he speedily drove off, leaving Rachael to fend for herself.
