Liam sat down on a chair placed by the patient’s bedside. His gaze filled with hurt and pain, lingered on Isabelle’s almost lifeless body. He felt vulnerable knowing he could do nothing to wake her up. All he could do was make the people responsible for her situation, pay for their crimes.
He traced her forehead, down to her jawlines, feeling the smoothness of her skin in his touch, a small smile curved on his lips as his mind wandered back to their date. Even though it was ruined, he still enjoyed the time they both spent.
A loud knock on the door interrupted his thoughts but he refused to turn to the person who had just worked in, he could almost guess who it was and his guess had turned out to be true
“Can I come in?” Adrian stuck his head, peeping into the room. “I have news”
Come in, then” Liam replied without looking back. “What news brings you here to this place?”
“Sir, the media has consistently continued to spread the news about the incident” Adrian stated with a solemn expression on his face. “Netizens are busy making abusive comments about the Callahan family, and the rumours about how your mother left you and your father for another man.
“Who is behind this?” Liam asked, his voice frosty and his expression grim. “Find them for me”
“Alright, boss but it will take a while” Adrain replied still wanting to give more information. “I’ve tried several times to get rid of the information on the internet but couldn’t. Those bloggers have become so persistent with their reposts. I guess we’ll just have to wait for it to subside… And also, launching of a new project should wait a bit unless we want them to plagiarise it”
Liam thought deeply about Adrian’s words, with his eyelids closed. He could tell he was telling the truth but he wasn’t going to give his enemies the satisfaction of seeing him fall. With a resolute gaze, he said, “We are not postponing the project launch. Just try to stop those bloggers, destroy their blogs if possible, and proceed with the next plan”
“Alright, sir” Adrian replied with a slight reluctance in his tone. “erm.. did you say I should end those bloggers’ accounts?… That could add to our problems,”
“It won’t. It would only teach them a lesson not to mess with me again. I’ll call Sarah and tell her to prepare a conference meeting to announce the launching of the new project then later on, we can host a banquet. It’s been a long since our company hosted one”Liam declared with a severe expression on his face. He was tired of stalling the enemy and needed to get rid of them as soon as possible before they became too big for him to handle.
He suddenly remembered something and said, “Adrian.. I already warned Sarah about this but I think the other party involved should be aware of this”
Liam paused for a bit to sure her had his technician’s concentration and replied after that, “Whatever is happening between you and Sarah should not come in the way of your job. I want you both to work hard for the sole purpose of improving yourself and the company…”
Adrian shook his head in embarrassment, “No no sir. I promise it won’t get in the air”

“Gina, what do you want this time?” Rachael berated her, her tone filled with fury, her gaze flashing with murderous intent. “You should leave now”
“Calm down, Rachael. Why are you so worked up about this?” Gina uttered with a mocking tone, her eyebrow raised in amusement. “Except you’re hiding something”
“It’s none of your business, you should leave” Rachael insisted with annoyance in her voice. Deep down in her heart, she felt a feeling of fear surging in her heart as she dreaded the outcome if Damien was to find out about her slacking during working hours.
Gina wasn’t done yet, it wasn’t that easy to get a chance to scorn the lady she detested the most. “I wonder how Damien would react when he finds out about your absence at work”
“He won’t know unless someone tells him and I’m sure that’s you… Just go straight the point”Rachael yelled at her, whose anger was later dispelled with disdain rising I’m her voice. “I’m quite sure you’ll be the one to tell him since you become much of a busy all”
“Hmph.. you a handful. I wonder how Damien managed to cope with your attitude all these years.” She said, her eyes flashing with mockery and her tone slightly irritated by Rachael’s comeback. Her gaze darted to the man next to Rachael, a playful smirk on her lips. “By the way, who’s the young handsome man beside you, care to introduce him?”
“He’s name is none of your concern” Rachael snapped, taking a defensive stance in front of Williams. “You should face your life partner”
“You are acting up again, Rachael” Gina remarked with a hideous smile, her gaze flashing with something interesting. “I just wanted to know who the new man that had caught your eyes is”
“Gina, don’t step on my toes” Rachael uttered with a warning glint in her eyes, her voice laced with a hint of threat. “Or I’ll make you regret”
Gina burst out into laughter, almost rolling on the ground. By the time she was done, tears were already trickling down from her eyes. She looked at Rachael with disbelief in her eyes. “Is that supposed to be a threat?… You are so naive, same with the man behind you”
“When you’re done, you can leave” Rachael yelled again, her gaze following the movement of Gina who abruptly clutched her forehead, contorting in pain.
“Is she okay?” William who had a stoic expression on his face finally spoke. “she doesn’t look good”
“I don’t know”Rachael shrugged her shoulders. Her eyes traced the woman who immediately boarded a taxi. Meanwhile, Gina who stood by a taxi, was kind of impatient.
“Where are you heading to,” the driver with a calm expression which was a huge contrast to Gina’s raiding store.
“The City view hospital”Racheal replied, causing the driver to gasp in surprise.
“Isn’t that a…..”
