“What? You really hired a mercenary group?” Lilia was taken aback, feeling somewhat troubled. “But Layla doesn’t want us to use such underhanded tactics!”
Maximo, the leader of the Eight Extremities School’s Niarak branch, had been humiliated by Flynn at the Kendal family.
He called Braiden and Lilia, inviting them to his home to discuss eliminating Rose.
The three decided on the most reliable method-kidnap Rose and take her to Southridge Mountain, then kill her.
Once Rose was dead, the Sharp family would descend like vultures to divide the Sharp Group.
At that point, their alliance would reap the benefits at a small cost, taking over the Sharp Group.
To ensure success and prevent Flynn from rescuing her, Maximo sent his top fighters, while Braiden hired an assassin organization.
With both sides working together, there was no chance of failure.
After returning home, Lilia told Layla about it but faced strong opposition.
Layla despised assassination.
She warned Lilia and Braiden that they were businessmen, not gangsters.
To win, they must win openly and fairly.
To lose, they must lose openly and fairly as well.
“Ha! Layla hasn’t suffered any losses; of course, she can afford to be calm.”
“You and I have been tormented by Rose!”
“I can’t stand this!” Braiden’s voice was as menacing as a tiger’s growl; even through the phone, one could sense his murderous intent.
After Acebegron Clear Relief’s collapse, the Swanson Group’s value plummeted by $40 billion in just two days.
Braiden faced criticism from his family, disdain from friends, and curses from business partners.
He went from being praised as a prodigy to being seen as a stubborn fool.
Braiden was on the verge of collapse.
He needed sleeping pills to fall asleep.
He blamed everything on Rose and swore to eliminate her as soon as possible.
Lilia advised, “Layla is actively seeking funds. Let’s follow her lead and defeat Rose through legitimate means!”
The collapse of Acebegron Clear Relief had nothing to do with Rose; Flynn had even warned about its side effects.
Braiden’s stubbornness led to his downfall; he had no one else to blame.
In fact, Rose intervened by releasing Break Alliance Pill at a critical moment.
Though the price was steep and she publicly criticized Braiden for ignoring warnings, putting him in the spotlight,
Without Rose’s Break Alliance Pill, the Swanson Group would have gone bankrupt!
It could be said that the remaining $60 billion market value of the Swanson Group was all thanks to Rose.
Of course, Rose released Break Alliance Pill to save lives, not to help the Swanson Group.
But it indirectly saved them nonetheless.
Now, Braiden wanted to kill Rose; he had lost all reason.
“I won’t listen to Layla. I’m calling just to inform you. Don’t tell Layla about this for now.”
“Today, I will make Rose wish she were dead!”
Seeing Braiden so determined, Lilia said no more.
When Braiden made up his mind, he couldn’t be swayed.
Moreover, Rose had caused her a $10 billion loss and tricked away her investors with a scam.
Lilia also wanted Rose dead.
In Niarak’s suburbs at the Swanson Residence,
Braiden hung up the phone and stood by the lake, exhaling deeply. His gaze turned vicious.
“Mr. Swanson, Harold has arrived,” a servant hurriedly reported.
A small team appeared in the distance-five white men, three black men, and two Asians.
They wore matching black combat uniforms; their boots clacked on the stone path. Their cold eyes were merciless like demons from hell; their murderous aura filled the air, making it hard to breathe.
The white man at the front looked even more terrifying with a ghastly scar on his face. His deep eyes seemed to see through everything; his presence was like a beast’s, causing the surrounding air to tremble uneasily.
“Mr. Harold, you’re finally here!” Braiden extended his hand with a smile.
After posting a bounty on the Dark Web, Harold contacted him immediately.
Braiden was thrilled because this assassin team was called “Black Mamba,” one of the top ten assassin organizations in the world.
They had completed countless seemingly impossible missions and had assassinated two warlords in Southvale among other high-profile targets.
Such a top-ranked assassin organization wasn’t easy to hire with money alone.
If Harold hadn’t taken this task voluntarily, someone like Braiden would have found it difficult to hire them at all.
The scarred man nodded and said coldly, “You’re lucky because we won’t be in Ostrad after tomorrow.”
Braiden chuckled and remarked appreciatively, “So it’s truly my honor to have hired you.”
Harold nodded again. “We don’t usually like stable countries; there’s too little work.”
“If it weren’t for a high-paying escort mission, we wouldn’t have come to Ostrad.”
“Escort mission?” Braiden asked in confusion.
Harold replied coldly: “Yes. We can do assassination jobs or protect clients.”
“Recently we escorted a biologist to Pelens.”
“Before leaving we saw your bounty was high enough so we took this job too.”
Braiden smiled: “Money isn’t an issue. If you complete this task successfully I’m willing to add another $500k on top of your $2 million bounty.”
“Here are the target’s details.”
He handed over Rose’s information as he spoke.
“The Sharp Group’s CEO Rose?” Harold glanced at it incredulously: “An ordinary person?”
Braiden confirmed: “Yes she’s an ordinary person but she has a Grandmaster bodyguard which is why I set the bounty at $2 million.”
“If you find this task tricky I can raise it to $3 million!”
Harold paused momentarily then smirked before turning towards his team: “Looks like Mr. Swanson doubts us. When did Black Mamba ever fail against Grandmasters?”
His team burst into laughter full of disdain and scorn in their eyes:
“Grandmaster? Impressive? We haven’t killed many maybe twenty?”
“If Mr. Swanson follows international news he’d know Walcaria Republic’s president got assassinated by us despite having three Grandmasters guarding him.”
“For someone like Mr. Swanson who deals with high-level circles Grandmasters seem formidable so saying such things isn’t surprising.”
The assassins weren’t offended by Braiden’s skepticism since Ostrad businessmen lived too comfortably unaware of their prowess which was understandable:
“Oh pardon my words please forgive me.” Braiden laughed awkwardly but inside he felt ecstatic realizing he’d struck gold!
Although Walcaria Republic was small its president had hundreds-strong personal guards including three Grandmasters yet still got killed by Black Mamba while Rose only had Flynn meaning certain death!
“No matter many doubted us initially but ended up convinced; Mr. Swanson will be no exception.”
“State your requirements we’ll act this afternoon.” Harold exuded confidence tinged with bloodlust:
Braiden narrowed his eyes gritting teeth:
“I want you all to humiliate Rose take photos then kill her!”
