Eli POV.
“We’re here to win the war,” my mate says, I smiled at her, she’s right, we’re going to win this war, we’re going to take what’s ours again, and then we can finally get the chance to move in somewhere and live our happy life.
“We glad to have you, let’s go,” Marco says, he’s with us? I expected him to scold us, to tell us he’s going to call Aspen and tell him to come and get us.
“Are you for real?” I ask him, it’s not that I don’t want to fight, or not that I’m sure we’re going to win, but him being so sure about us coming, that means something is really bad, there’s no other explanation, especially that I know Marco.
“Yes, let’s go,” Marco says in a cold voice, telling us to get going, we were in the cars, but we weren’t going home, home is our safe place, Aspen always kept is a safe place, I didn’t expect to go there, but we didn’t go to the club either, the club is a big war zone, where are we going then?
“Where are we going?” I ask Marco getting worried now, is Aspen okay? Did he move somewhere else?
“To check on Aspen,” he says in a firm voice, we called Aspen a couple of days before we came, he didn’t call us often, saying he’s busy and he’s right to be busy, he got a full war on going with us staying away, we should have never left, I should’ve ignored his order and dragged the princess back with me, or better yet, leave the princess where it’s safe.
“Where is Aspen?” Ashlynn asks him, she’s right where the fuck is Aspen, why is he so far away, I was starting to lose my mind, wanting to go and check on him.
“In a safe home,” Marco answers but that isn’t a real answer either.
The drive to the said safe house was so long, it made my blood boil, it was getting on my last nerves, and it made me so worried, I think Ashlynn was on the verge of a panic attack, her breathing was going all over the place, from fast to slow, she was trying to control it, but she was losing the fight, the panic attack was coming soon.
“We’ll be there soon, don’t worry, he’s gonna be safe, he’s always safe,” I assure her, but she only shake her head no, I don’t believe my words either, but we had to try something.
“We’re here,” Marco says, breaking the tense moment, we parked the car and ran out of them, I didn’t care about the people who are here with us, they can come in on their own time, but right now, we need to get to daddy Aspen.
“Aspen!” I call coming inside the house, he must be here somewhere, unless if he’s hiding in some panic room and he’d never do that.
“Aspen!” Ashlynn calls, going from one room to another trying to find him.
“I’m here,” we heard him call from a room above us, we ran upstairs to go and check on him, Ashlynn made it to the room first, and she walked in and then froze.
“Ashlynn?” I say confused why is she just standing, she pushed to the side, allowing me in too, there on the bed we saw Aspen, he was laying on the bed, shirtless, his shoulder was bandaged.
“Daddy?” I call him what’s happening? What’s wrong with him?
“Hey baby boy, hey princess, come in,” he says ordering us two, we ran toward him, hugging him on each side.
“What happened?” I ask him, how did he get hurt and why didn’t he call us?
“Nothing major, don’t worry,” he says, but I don’t believe it, he looks like he went to hell and back.
“We’re worrying, don’t sugar coat this, what happened?” Ashlynn asks him in her dominant voice, it had me submitting, but I guess Aspen only answered her cause he loves her too.
“A wolf almost got me, Marco said I should’ve died, but I didn’t something about being connected to immortal wolves,” he says the words like they are nothing, that it holds no meaning, almost dying, being connected to one of us is what saved him, he’s connected to me since we shared the bite, but they never connected.
“If you died because of me!” Ashlynn says tears going down her face, she hugged him tight, sobbing out loud.
“I didn’t die princess, don’t worry, I’m right here,” he assures her but she kept on crying, while he patted her back.
“Although this is a nice reuniting, we got a war to win,” it was Keiran, he said from his position in the doorway.
“Keiran?” Aspen asks confused.
“Hey man, good thing we made it on time, I can’t imagine dealing with my sister’s naughtiness without you there,” Keiran says with a smile.
“Yeah, I can imagine she can be a nightmare, but she’s my sweet nightmare, a heaven-sent nightmare,” Aspen says kissing the top of her head.
“Now about this war we got on hand,” I say wanting all this to end so we can cuddle and be happy, and cuddle some more.
“You’re staying out of it Eli, you too Ashlynn, I don’t care if you two are wolves, you aren’t getting in this war,” he scolds us, right, this won’t work this time.
“Too bad you’re not my dominant, or alpha, or even sub, I want to get in this war, oh please try and stop me,” Keiran says with a big scary smile, I only met him a couple of times, but everyone says this guy is sane and got a good head over his shoulder, right now he sounds like he’s on a killing haze and he’s kind of scary.
“This is a mafia job, I know your sister told you,” Aspen says.
“It’s wolf job, they got feral in, and the best way to end this is wolf way,” Keiran says, I nod my head yes, it’s one big fight and it’ll be over, winner takes it all.
“What does that mean?” Aspen asks confused.
“One big fight, winner take it all,” Keiran says, using the same words Liam used when he explained the wolf way to me.
“How do we do this?” Aspen asks.
“You stay in your bed, safe and sound, we’ll do the call,” Keiran says.
“I can’t let you fight my fight,” Aspen says, I know he won’t sit out of it.
“Fine, let’s get this over with,” Keiran says.
