Aspen POV.
I haven’t mentioned what I look like, what does a mafia boss looks like, most of us are dark? Dark aura? I do have the dark aura, all killers have it, whether we kill good people or bad people, the aura stays with us, it doesn’t leave our bodies, it stays with us forever, until we grow old and die on our own.
I don’t have the dark looks though, I have my mother’s look, the innocent looks, although I’m anything but innocent, I have her ginger hair, although I keep mine short, I have her green eyes, thank god I didn’t take her freckles, I don’t think those would suit me at all.
I waited and waited, until finally the stupid boss, the one who think he was the boss of the bosses, but he’s not, he got the dark looks, and a dark soul to match it, but I can’t allow him to take over my territory or do what he thinks he can do.
“Aspen, what brought you over my place?” he asks me, sitting on the seat next to mine, I looked him up and down, beside me sit a killer, a dark soul, a trafficker, one who deserves death, and I plan on delivering.
“You know what brought me,” I answer him, taking a sip from my drink, avoiding his eyes, he doesn’t even deserve to be looked at.
“Ahh, the small dispute last night, it was nothing really your men took it too far,” he says making me grow, it’s a thing I learned from my man, you see it’s not just humans around here in this world, there’s more out in the night.
When you grow up on the street when night became your home, you meet the creature of the night, it’s common logic, where else would you meet them. Some are bad, some are evil, but others are just lost, lost in the world, poor souls who are looking for a leader, but that’s my job, that’s where I come in, I’m a natural leader, I’m one who they look up and follow.
It’s not just humans, there are creatures of the night out there, ones that howl to the moon, ones who change and shift into wolves, they are mine too, rogues, ones that no pack would take them in, ones that no one wants, why not belonging to me?
I have seven rogues in my ranks, seven who know about each other, they are kicked out of their packs for one reason or another, some who don’t play well with others, I don’t ask for much, I ask for their loyalties and obedience or they could get going, but not just them seven, there’s a plus one who I keep out and away from everyone else, my plus one who’s mad at me for now, but I’ll get it back later when this place is safe for us again.
“Dispute?” I say out loud, last night there was a fight between my man and his.
“You guys should mind their own business,” he growls? Really growls at me, but I only gave him a glare, he doesn’t scare me for real, I deal with seven wolves on daily basis, and I’m used to them and their hissing and growling.
“You know my rules, no trafficking, no hurting women and children,” I say the words in a real firm voice, seeing him pull back away from me, now I could show him what a real dominant person sounds like.
“We weren’t on your territory,” he says again, trying to talk me into this shit, but this wasn’t okay, it’ll never be okay, not ever.
“You passed by, it’s our right to stop you, you monsters,” I growl at him, although I’m the one who sounds like a monster now, but I don’t care, I want him to be scared of me.
“We’re not monsters Aspen, your father was the biggest dealer around here,” he says getting on my last nerves, did he have to mention my father, doesn’t he know how much I hate him, it’s not a secret to how much I hate him.
“I killed my father, would you like to follow him?” I ask him with a toothy smile, I could feel Marco smiling behind me, he’d love to kill him too, but if we do kill him, we’d start a war with his men, we don’t want or need that.
“Is that a threat Aspen?” he says standing up, now I had to hold back my laugh, it’s clear on a threat, who gave this idiot powers and made him a mafia boss?
“Take it as you’d like,” I say to him, lying, I want him to attack me first, then I could kill him and take over his territory.
“Aspen, tell your guys to stay on their side and I’ll stay on mine,” he says, growling at me again, his men getting closer to us, I could see guns starting to get drawn, here comes the fun part.
I took my gun out, with the idiot sitting this close to me, he was in my shooting range, I held my gun against his family jewels, maybe if I shoot him there, that would teach him not to get near girls who aren’t legal or can’t consent.
“Any girl who is younger than eighteen and drugged who passes near my territory, I’m going to kill whoever is holding her,” I threaten out loud.
“This means war,” he answers me, I smiled, that’s exactly what I want, I want for the war to begin.
“Let the game begins,” I say leaving the club with Marco following me, no one would dare to shoot me, not in the back, not with Marco keeping my back safe. Remember the wolves I talked about, the seven, who look up to me, Marco is the number one, he’s the one who confessed to me what he is, he told me about the three who were with us at the time, and now they are seven, seven plus one.
We got in my car, I turned it on and started to drive back home, Marco was looking at me, with words in his mouth.
“Yes?” I ask him.
“You want to start a war? now?” he asks me, I thought that was clear already.
“Yes, war,” I say again, I have some big plans for the future, but I can’t leave him in charge, I can’t leave this monster out and about.
“Now what?” Marco asks, the war is on.
“Now, I go get what’s mine,” I say with a smile, my plus one has been mad for almost a month now, time to get them back.
