Eli POV.
Things are messed up here, really messed up, where do I even start, I was lost, I’m lost in this world, I had no one, I had nothing to me, my whole life is a series of misfortunate events, and now my mate, my own mate is mad at me, how do I tell her I’m no danger to her or anyone else, but me.
I looked at my mate my beautiful mate, I saw the fear in her eyes, I wanted to wipe that look away, to assure her no danger would ever touch her with me around. But Ashlynn doesn’t believe that she took a step back away from me, she’s hiding from me, it broke my heart seeing her afraid of me, I took a step toward her, but she took one back, for each step I took she took one back, until I got down on my stomach, keeping my head down, I wanted to scream, look I’m safe.
This was the exact reason why I didn’t want to show her what I really am, what my wolf is like, I was hunted, and almost killed a couple of times, until I decided to live a life of humans, I stopped showing my wolf form, I kept that side of me hidden, until now, until her, for her I’d shift.
“Eli, stay away,” she says, if a broken heart could break again, it just happened to me, my heart shattered, she doesn’t want me, I don’t know much about wolves, but I do know I love her, she’s an angel sent from heaven, since the second I smelled her, it’s when I became hooked, all I wanted, all I needed was her, and her only.
I wasn’t supposed to be at her family’s pack bonfire, it all happened by chance, I was out on a job, that job included another pack, who are friends with some guy named Liam, whoever this Liam is, I own him my life, finding my mate and falling in love with her all cause of him.
I went there just to spend some time, before going back home, and I smelled her, I’m a hunter at heart, or that’s what I’ve been told before, I have the heart of a hunter, it’s a game, it’s instinct, it’s every cell in me screaming wanting to follow my pray. I did that, I followed him, even in my human form, I’m a really good hunter, I followed her through the night, I saw her getting in her flashy orange car, not so hard to follow in the middle of the night, that car shines from far away, I could see it the whole time.
When I got to the new pack, after a full night of driving, I did some calling, I did some searching I asked more about that pack, not everyone like a rogue, most of the packs hate me, that’s why I took a human life.
I was informed I could ask for a refugee in this pack, and so I did, the idea of settling in a pack, one that would take in a rogue, one that doesn’t mind me being alone for so long, it was very tempting, I could’ve skipped the alpha meeting, but instead, I wanted to know more and more about everything. I wanted to know more about my mate, when I got in this pack, I asked about the orange car owner, her name is Ashlynn, she’s the beta’s sister, and she’s my mate, but that was a piece of information that I personally achieved.
“It’s your turn, Eli,” the guy says allowing me into the alpha’s office, I was nervous going in, if I get approved, would she let us move in here? I doubt her original pack would allow me in, during the bonfire, they had enforcers running through the wood, making sure everyone is safe.
“Hello,” I say taking a seat, the alpha said the hello back, but then I saw her sitting in the room with him, she looked at me, but then she left the room, she left me behind, I couldn’t leave yet, not before I assure a space in this pack, if possible.
“Tell me more about you,” the alpha says, he sounded firm, but not too firm, he wasn’t that scary, my wolf had the silly idea of trying to kill him and take over his pack, but I knew what would happen then, his mate, the stronger one, the scarier one as I was told, would kill me then, along with his pack.
This pack is a strong one, not one to be messed with, I had to be careful about what I said and what words I used around him.
“I’m here… because… I have no pack,” I say, I didn’t have one.
“And why not? kicked out?” he asks me, I had to fight rolling my eyes at him, it’s not polite to do so, or so I’m told.
“I lived with humans, I was always with humans, I never met wolves like me, the one I met, they wanted nothing to do with me,” I explain to him blushing, I’m being vulnerable, I only met her last night and here I’m being vulnerable in hope to have a life with her.
“Were you taught anything about wolves? How do we live? have you tried to join other packs?” he asks me with the same firm voice.
“Uh, alpha, most packs chased me off the second they saw me,” I explain to him.
“And your wolf?” he asks me, which confused me.
“My wolf?” I say again not understanding the question.
“Is he a rogue?” he asks me, oh that, I’ve been called that before, but it didn’t happen by choice, I just shrug, but I guess that was enough for him to understand the answer, my wolf is a rogue.
“We gotta do a full background, you’re gonna have to take a physical and mental test, you’ll be under three-month trials, if that works well, you’d be welcomed over,” the alpha says! There’s actual hope for me to join in!
“Thank you alpha! Thank you! But not that I’m not happy about your offer or ungrateful, but can I please have a couple of weeks to just settle my old life?” I ask him, I meant a few weeks to claim my mate. I left the office then and followed my mate, I got her, one way or another, I would get her to spend some time with me, just me.
I shifted back to my human form, still sitting down on the floor, with Ashlynn looking at me with fear in her eyes.
“Let me explain,” I beg with her, ready to tell her everything that happened.
