She thought about the entire situation again. It had been three days since Christian disappearance a? d it was starting to look more or less confusing. At that moment she did all she could to get the situation off her mind but it was getting more and more critical as the days went by.
If there was anything that was right there at her mind, it must definitely had to be how he allowed it to happen, one moment he was right there on the bed lifeless and in the next moment he was nowhere to be found.
Was this mere coincidence ?
As she thought through this, she saw the need to speak through all that was going on at that moment. She saw the need to concentrate that day on the task at hand – a meeting coming up in a few hours.
With a deep sigh she walked out through the door still trying as much as she could to make certain that she didn’t give away the fact that she was very much worried.
Approaching the door, she walked in … She looked round the room trying all she could to decipher the thought of everything again.
Her gaze turned to Riley and nodded slowly..
“Is this everyone?”
Riley looks round and nods .
She waited until everyone settled down, there were a lot of things running through her mind as she tried all she could to take all the thoughts away from the back of her mind.
There were murmurs of discussion as everyone wanted to speak, still feeling very much uncertain about all that was happening -The thick haze of smoke hung heavily in the air.
There was a sense of anticipation in the room as some of the men glanced at her from time to time, it all started right where she was as the head of the table and ended right there with Rhys there as well.
“You are all welcome to this year’s conference.,”She spoke with a subtle tone, her gaze stopping right there where he should be, his mind like a flicker went to a few months ago… or wasn’t it.
She could remember that moment when she had seen him again right there at that now empty spot, as the thought filled her mind her Heart gave two thuds.
From place at the head of the table, zhs surveyed the room as she ran through the agenda of the meeting in her head
As it was she wanted to leave nothing out-
Everyone fell silent. The men all straightened and fixed their attention on her as she spoke.
“Is everyone here?”She asked quietly.
There was still that drag in her voice, when someone finally spoke it was one of the men at the far end of the room .
“Everyone is,”said Riley again after a brief look around the room.
She nodded in satisfaction.”Good. We can proceed.”
It went for hours, the entire meeting ended with her reaching into her bag for a pen but instead her fist clenched round a paper.
She took it out almost immediately as she brought out a rolled up sheet of paper and unfolded it.
After staring at it for some moment an idea struck to the back of her mind.
She sighed and at first thought of doing what was at the back of her mind immediately, instead she was met by another feeling of anxiety.
“We would continue the rest of the meeting much later, all in favor of this say Aye.”
There were confused murmurs from the men assembled. She raised her hand. In the ensuing silence, after a few seconds, they joined in more in favor.
*****
She parks and stays in the car, worrying gnawing deep in her soul.
“What am I doing here?”She whispers to herself.
She had a plan, but now as she stood right there they were just filtering away like an iridescent wind.
She was confused not the very least, it left an overwhelming feeling at the back of her mind like she’s starting to second-guess herself.
What is she trying to prove by coming here?
She was more down to the fact that she was over-empathetic.
She stared at the note again -should she have thought it through.
“Damn”she hisses, opening the car door.
If there was anything that she was Certain about it was the fact that She already came this far, she might as well follow through.
She got out to the placement – Her kitten heels clack against the sidewalk as she makes her way right to where she was heading to-
to the entrance.
As She slowly made her way to the front double door, several thoughts filled the back of her mind.
Damn.
There’s a whole Aura around the room that entices her. She felt too intensely deep in her heart as she stopped for a second.
Feeling rather flustered by her thoughts, she halted for a minute letting the feeling of unsettling feel from deep within.
Her heart was potent enough that it made her stop in her tracks yet again, she stalled and thought it through again.
From the moment she had seen the note to the drive so quickly she could have walked and enjoyed the lush surroundings of the Vicinity, when she thought it through it occurred to her that she hadn’t thought the situation through before embarking.
She took in the scenery, inhaling the crisp air instead of the entire feeling of anxiety that had embraced her like a cocoon
Her heart temporary echoed wildly feeling her up with no bit of conviction about the entire situation –
What if she had come to the wrong place.
Without thinking about the situation again, she set out right to the open.
Laura again stalled at the front of the house with the Address in her hands, in a distance
she could hear an unmistakably sound in the distance in the wail of a police siren.
A nano second later, she was at the door knocking.
