“We’ve come to an end to today’s meeting,”Christian’s deep voice could be heard as he stood up from his chair.”If there’s anyone here who has a question to ask, proceed with it,”He added.
For what it’s worth, he had been able to find a way to convince them that he had sent him away all by himself. He didn’t know how he did it but perhaps the drinks helped.
It was a good thing he had one competent person after all as when one was away doing whatever he was the other was closing a deal.
“I do,”Maurice said, Christian signaling for him to ask his question. Just then a call interrupted him. He looked at the caller ID and grinned.
“Hello,”He said as he received the call. He was a hit, curious , sensing who it was, the call had to be important. He thought to himself again.
“You have to be here quickly, our son is sick,”Laura said, sounding panicked.
“I’ll be there in a jiffy, “He said as he began to get ready to leave.
“What’s wrong?”Danny asked. Without responding to them, he left the office hastily. He got into his car and speedily drove off to meet Laura.
When he got home, he met Laura with a wet face and swollen eyes, indicating that she had been crying for a long time.
“Where’s he?”he asked, Laura pointed upstairs, without a word he ran upstairs to the child’s room. The boy was shivering, even with the thick duvet he was covered with.
Christian placed a hand on his forehead. He cursed silently and scooped the boy in his arms, heading downstairs. He met Antonia in the living room.
“I’ll take him to see the doctor,”he informed me.
“I’m coming with you,”She said.
“Okay,”Christian gave in without an argument. They went to Christian’s car which was parked at the garage, then drove off to the hospital.
Unbeknownst to him, he was being watched by Antonia, from her window, she was filled with anger that he had not checked up on her.
“To hell with all of you,”Antonia cursed as tears slowly streamed down her face. She sniffed back the tears, used the back of her palm to clean her face then went in to change her clothes.
While changing her clothes, she made up her mind that she was leaving Christian. She had tried enough for him, yet what did she get in return? Cold shoulders and Isolation.
He didn’t even care about her health, all he cared about was that woman and her son! Why did he keep her with him when he had that woman and a son?
She needed to leave the house, him, that shameless woman, her son, she needed to be far from everyone. She wanted to be at where she’d be recognized, where she could have the perfect life she had always painted and wished she had.
After changing into a white sleeve dress, she searched around the room for a note and pen. It took her some minutes before she finally saw one.
She took the clean sheet of note and pen to her bed, as she began to scribble furiously on the note.
‘I’m finally leaving you, your son and wife. I hope you all have a perfect life together. Please Don’t bother to look for me, because I’m not coming back here. I would rather not cause more troubles to you, I can’t believe how miserable I’ve been Christian, I just can’t. To make matters worse, you’re adding to my pain, which hurts me a lot. I feel like ending my life sometimes when I’m alone. But I just can’t bring myself to do it, that is why I have decided to leave, never to come back into your life again.

A drop of tears fell on the sheet, she carefully wiped it with the hem of her dress and stood up. She placed the sheet on the lamp stand where Christian could easily see it, then she left with her belongings to the living room.
She called her personal driver to come pick her up, he came ten minutes after her call and they drove off.

Christian and Laura arrived at the hospital with Alexa, they rushed inside. Christian went to get a doctor, who quickly attended to them.
A few minutes later, the doctor came out of the ward where Alexa was in.
“How’s he the doctor?”Laura asked.
“He’ll be fine, ma,”The doctor assured. He looked over at Christian.”I’ll prescribe some drugs, you have to get it from the pharmacy, ”
“Okay,”Christian nodded and followed the doctor. He took the list of drugs the doctor wrote for him and went to meet Laura.
“I’m heading home now, call me if anything comes up,”He said.”Also, I’ll send the drugs once I’ve bought them, take care of him well,”
“Okay,”Laura said.”Thank you,”She added.
“Okay,”Christian gave a nod and walked out of the hospital.

Christian gets home when it is dark, he groans and massages the back of his neck as he walks into the living room. He was surprised by the silence that greeted him when he entered. Feeling uneasy, he called out Antonia’s name, but there was no response.
He rushed towards the bedroom, but it was empty. He quickly brings out his phone to call her line, but it was not reachable, he tried it several times, and it was still the same until it finally went off.
Angered by this, he threw his phone with great force across the room. Just then, he noticed the note that was on the lamp stand. He rushed towards it, praying it shouldn’t be what he was suspecting.
He was dumbstruck when he saw what was written in his letter, his whole mind went numb for some seconds, when he finally came to his senses, he slumped on the ground with a great thud.
“Why did you have to leave?”He asked silently, he shut his eyes tightly as he tried hard not to cry.”Why the hell did you leave!”He yelled, the self-restraint in him was let loose as tears began to fall on his cheeks.

Antonia arrived at town, she took a stroll for a while, before going to her hotel room. She slumped on the bed as she went into deep thoughts.
She brought out her phone as she made a call to someone.
“I’ll meet you at Red Rose in thirty minutes, be there, please.”
