As he slapped the bottle of alcohol out of Antonia’s hand, she stared at him in shock, her eyes opened wide.”I.. I.. am sorry Tonia”Seeing the repercussions of his actions, he immediately began to feel sorry and so he apologized to her.
“Christian, what did you just do?”She yelled at him and then bent down immediately to collect all the pieces of the broken bottle and the cup that was on the floor.
“I’m sorry Tonia, I didn’t mean for this to happen. I just wanted you to stop drinking, it’s not healthy”Christian tried to defend himself
“What the fuck has come over you!”Tonia shouted at him and then kept picking the glasses up with her bare hands when Christian pulled her away from it causing them to fall back down again.
“Let me go”She yelled at him before shoving him away from her.”You shouldn’t be picking the glass with your hands, what if you get hurt!”He yelled back at her.
“You don’t have the right to act concerned about me when you don’t care about me,”She said and Christian stared at her with confusion
“Here you go again Tonia, just like the night of the house party when you were drunk, you spilled trash like I loved Laura genuinely and didn’t love you because you are a drug addict and then you slept off. I didn’t say anything and decided to put it behind us because you were high then and you probably didn’t mean it but this time, are you going to live with the weight of your words?”
The both of them were panting hard by the time he finished talking and tears had begun to fall from Antonia’s eyes. Here she goes again, she will start the argument and then still act like the victim in the end.
“This is all your fault Christian, don’t try to pin anything on my drunken state. You suddenly changed after Laura and her kids came into our lives when they moved in with us”She raised her voice
“How the fuck does this relate to this conversation? You were drinking, I stopped you from drinking and now I’m your bad guy”Christian asked her
“Look at you Christian, I am not dumb, I have seen the way you look at those boys, you play around with them knowing fully well that I can never have kids. I would never be able to have one of my own”The tears began to fall down her cheeks
“Antonia”Christian whispered and tried to get close to her but she raised her hand to stop him from coming close.
“Don’t come any closer to me, I’m not lying”She added
“But you are wrong Tonia, I don’t feel the same way you are feeling. I don’t love Laura, it’s you that I truly love and if it seems like I play with the kids too much, that can stop because it’s not the way you are thinking Christian tried to explain
“Then what is it?”She asked
“The DNA proved that they are my kids so I can’t neglect them but I feel nothing for them, Tonia, I love only you. Those kids are nothing but children made from my mistake with Laura and it’s not important”Christian told her
She sniffed, “Are you sure?”.
“Yes baby, I promise you”Christian assured her and then tried to get close to her for a kiss but she nodded her head in refusal before shoving him by the chest away.
“No”She whispered
“I swear Tonia, believe me”He stared hard at her, and then a sigh escaped her lips before her hands sagged by her sides. Seeing this as his chance, he moved closer to her again and she didn’t push him away this time.
He placed a kiss on her forehead before going for her lips and she accepted his gesture. After a while, the kiss was over and they were staring at each other like puppies in love once again.
He helped her back in bed and asked her to rest her head so she wouldn’t be too tired by nighttime and then quickly cleaned the place where the bottle had broken.
As he closed the door, he saw Laura leaning against the wall while staring at the ground so he walked up to her and touched her shoulder.”Laura”
Laura moved away from his touch and then looked up at him, he met with her swollen eyes and then without a word, she left and began to head over to the living room where the boys were.
“Fuck”Christian hissed out and scratched his head. He had fucked up, what made him say those things about Laura and the kids? Even if he meant it, he still shouldn’t have said it when he knew that Laura was in this house too and she would get mad at him.
“Laura please wait”Christian successfully held her hand when they got to the edge of the stairs. She pulled her hand from his, “Let me go!”A tear escaped her eyes as she spoke
God, nobody felt more angry and guilty than Christian because, in just one day, he had made two women cry when he didn’t even plan to.
“Please Laura let me explain,”He said quickly and she chuckled before wiping the tears from her eyes.
“Explain then,”Laura said with her hands on her hips, She heard it all and instead of him accepting defeat, he wanted to explain. What a clown.
“Laura look I didn’t mean them, Tonia was just high and I wanted to calm her down”He started
“Excuses upon excuses, when are you going to grow the fuck up. If you wanted to make Tonia happy, you could have said other things or even talked ill about me but you said my children were a mistake, that the only reason you accepted them was because the DNA test shows that you are their father?”She yelled at him
His choice of words wasn’t exactly good.”Laura”
“Don’t call my name, how could you Christian? How could you talk as if my children are thrash just because you want to make someone feel better? Innocent kids who love you and think you love them”Laura was so pissed at him and every word was proof of that.
“I was wrong okay and I’m sorry Laura, please forgive me,”Christian said
“I heard everything and unless you can go back in time to stop yourself from saying those words, I can’t ever forgive you,”Laura said with finality and then left him at the stairs.
Christian didn’t bother to go after her because this time, he fucked up badly and she was not going to forgive him easily.

Later in the evening, Christian dropped Tonia off at the doctor’s place and went back home since she would take a while there. He was going to pick her up when she was done. He also wanted to use that chance to apologize to Laura again for the things he said about her and her kids.
When he got home, Laura wasn’t in the living room with the kids so he got closer to them and then lifted Miles in the air again since he loved it when he did earlier.
“I like it Daddy”Miles yelled
“Do me Daddy”Alex said and so Christian kept throwing both of the boys in the air, the three of them were having so much fun and laughing hard when Laura walked into the living room
“Alex, Miles, get here,”She said
The boys stopped laughing, “But we are playing with Daddy, we don’t want to go in now mummy”Alex said
“Get inside now boys”Laura repeated herself, this time with a harsh tone and the boys held each other before they ran into the house.
She turned to leave the living room when Christian called her name, causing her to stop in her tracks.”What do you want?”Laura asked
Her voice was still bitter, “Are you still mad at me?”He managed to ask.
“Yes, and I can’t forgive you anytime soon go give up”she bit back in anger.
Christian was shocked by this.”Is that why you sent my kids inside?”He asked and she burst into laughter
“Your kids? Or your mistakes that I pinned on you?”Came her question
“Laura”
“Don’t get close to my kids again please stick to Tonia, the woman you love”And with that, she left him in the living room without another word.
Christian stood there frozen on the spot for a few minutes, he was so confused and he didn’t know what to do. His words had hurt Laura badly and she wasn’t ready to forgive him
This way, he wouldn’t be granted access to touch the kids since he called them mistakes. How did things go so wrong?
