CHAPTER 31

Book:I Have Your Sons, Mr. CEO Published:2024-9-2

A worried Antonia woke up that morning to find herself in bed, she could still see the dent in the pillow beside her, where he was laid, and she could still feel the warmth of the covers rumpled confirming the previous night hadn’t been a dream.
He had made love to her although it didn’t look like he was so into it, for countless times he had seemed to be distracted.
She stared around at the apartment of one costly home Instead with interest. She knew he had recently just bought it off distress and was looking to get it renovated.
The decor was natural wood with vintage furnishings and costly artwork that made the building pleasantly welcoming.
Last night had merely been his first night here as well that was if he was telling the truth, of recent she was starting to suspect he lied to her. She thinks he’s definitely been there a few times to have some ‘alone time’
Despite telling herself that all of this was just at the back of her mind she couldn’t ignore that persistent feeling that was always coming frequently.
She pushed the thought out of her mind and made her way to the bathroom, she made use of a tut and then dressed in her previous day well.
Antonia was still musing about the fact that he had left without saying goodbye that morning when the door opened and Christian entered the room.
Her gaze was transfixed on him as he made his strides into the room with two plastic bags.
“Thought you left for work.”She muttered just about the time he arrived at where she was and planted a kiss on her chin.
“I don’t work on weekends.”He rolled his eyes.
“Oh, it slipped my mind… My apologies.”
She could see the shoes at the corner of the room and was certain that it hadn’t been there when she had woken up earlier.
“You’ve been here before now?”
“Yes just a couple of minutes ago.”He paused and got out the contents of the bag.”I heard you in the shower when I came in, so I made my way back to pick up some breakfast for us.”
She smiled, she thought it was thoughtful of him.
Christian hands her the food and notices that she is distracted.
“Oh. Thanks.”She glanced at him, then looked away feeling awkward in his presence.
He extended his arm, ushering her to the table at the center of the room. The table was bacon and sausages.
“Get the wine ready.”He muttered to her as he took out the rest of the content.
“I wasn’t sure what you would like to eat, so I ordered different meals.”
She gave that smile again that left a hint.
“Are you fine?” He questioned out of the blue just as he pushed a forked sausage into her waiting mouth.
She looked at him in surprise wondering why he had asked what looked to be the most absurd question at that moment.
“I am why did you ask.”
He smirked.”Have you looked in the mirror today? You looked stressed.”
“Really.”She touches her face to be certain he knows what he is speaking of.
“Yeah, do you need me to get you a maid?”
She rolls her eyes “I am capable of fending for myself, you know.”
He chuckled at her expression and helped
himself to another bite, this time of broccoli.
“You know if you keep looking so sad and all. People might think I don’t know how to
take care of you.”This final remark was accompanied by a kiss on her cheek.
“Leaving already?”She is surprised.
“Yeah, I just got a text from my dad, he needs me to help with something.”
He picked up the jacket from the previous night.
“How do I look? ”
“dirty.”She jokes, forcing a laugh from him.

It had been twenty minutes since she had left and only then did she look into the mirror to see if he was merely speculating.
Turned out that he was right on point, she could see the stress deep in her face that was white as though blood had drained from it.
Talking about blood her mind went back to the fact that she was two weeks late.
Her heart races at the possibility, her palm cupped her mouth in sheer shock.
“Could I be pregnant?”
She searched her bag for a PT strip and groaned when she didn’t find any.
“Arrg…”She ran her hands through her hair she needed a fucking test.
Picking up her phone, Antonia typed Closet Hospitals…
A list of names popped up and she opted for one.
“Let’s do this.”She muttered to herself as anxiety raced through.
Soon she was following the directions, she took the lone road towards the direction the Google map had provided for her.
The sight of the hospital came into view as she pulled out of the road and drove into the parking lot.
Alighting from her car, a chill runs down her
spine. She swallowed the numb feeling she was starting to have as a wave of adrenaline crept through her again.
The place was luxurious from how it looked, pulling up her scarf she made her way in-
A small boat tells her maybe she should turn back, and this was a mistake, doubts, and anxiety crept through her mind.
When the deepest voice, the voice that dictates her decisions, presses on. She surges forward and wakes way past the door.
She was approaching the nurse at the counter when from nowhere a young boy bumped into her.
“Hey, little man you should watch where you are going.”
She tried helping him up but stood there stunned as she stared at the boy who was a splitting image of her Christian.
Before she could process her thoughts, he made his way in the other direction, obviously running from someone.
Her phone buzzes, startling her. She hesitates for a while returning her gaze to the direction the boy went.
“Christian, are any of your kids in the hospital?”She typed on her phone.
