Chapter 20
“Is that you?, It is” He looked really surprised but a smile was quick to creep up to his lips. He was happy to see her again.
“What are you doing here, with her? Do you two know each other?” He questioned
“You two know each other?” Laura also questioned, looking in between both of them.
“Um, no..
“Yes”
They both responded simultaneously.
“Okay?” Laura said, confused.
“She’s someone I think fits my ideal type” Rhys responded bluntly and Riley squinted her face.
“What do you want and who are you?”
“He’s Christian Asher close friend” Laura said and Riley’s eyes widened for a second before she adjusted her posture.
She let out a bow. “Evening sir” She greeted, politely.
“What? You don’t have to do that” Rhys said with a chuckle.
“I’m Riley, Miss’s Manager, nice to meet you sir” She greeted again, politely.
“Oh, hi, I’m Rhys, Rhys Keystone” He said.
“What’s going on here?” Someone suddenly hang his arm around Rhys.
“Hey buddy, come on, it’s time” He said.
“Hi ladies” He greeted the girls. Laura flashed him a little smile while Riley bowed.
“I’ll see you later then, Riley” Rhys said with a smile before walking away with his friend.

Antonia took a deep breath as she stood outside the imposing front door of Christian’s parents’ home. She knew that this visit would be anything but easy, but she was determined to assert her position as Christian’s wife, despite the chilly reception she had received from his family in the past.
With a firm resolve, Antonia rang the doorbell, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for someone to answer. After a few moments, the door swung open, revealing Christian’s mother, Mrs. Asher, standing on the other side. Her expression was cool and distant, but Antonia refused to be intimidated.
“Hello, Mrs. Asher. It’s good to see you,” Antonia said, forcing a smile despite the tension that hung in the air.
Mrs. Asher’s gaze lingered on Antonia for a moment before she finally spoke. “Antonia. What brings you here?” she asked, her tone polite but guarded.
“I just wanted to stop by and say hello. It’s been a while since we last saw each other, and I thought it would be nice to catch up,” Antonia replied, trying to keep her voice steady.
Mrs. Asher’s lips tightened slightly at Antonia’s words, but she stepped aside to allow her entry nonetheless. As Antonia stepped into the foyer, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease wash over her. The familiar surroundings only served to remind her of the strained relationship she had with Christian’s family.
Despite her apprehension, Antonia forced herself to maintain a confident demeanor as she followed Mrs. Asher into the living room. Christian’s father, Mr. Asher, was seated on the sofa, his expression unreadable as he watched Antonia’s approach.
“Hello, Mr. Asher. It’s nice to see you again,” Antonia said, offering a polite nod in his direction.
Mr. Asher inclined his head in acknowledgment but said nothing in return. The atmosphere in the room was tense, and Antonia couldn’t shake the feeling that she was unwelcome in their home.
Undeterred, Antonia took a seat opposite Christian’s parents, determined to make the most of the visit. She engaged them in polite conversation, asking about their health and well-being, and sharing updates about her own life and career.
Despite their initial reluctance, Antonia gradually sensed a thawing in Christian’s parents’ demeanor. As the conversation flowed, they began to relax, and Antonia even managed to elicit a few smiles from them.
By the time she took her leave, Antonia felt a sense of accomplishment. Though the visit had been challenging, she had managed to assert her position as Christian’s wife and bridge the divide between herself and his family, if only slightly. As she walked back to her car, she couldn’t help but feel hopeful that their relationship would continue to improve over time.
As she got into the car, she decided to phone Christian.
