Chapter 07
“She said someone messaged her that you were drunk and passed out, and sent her a pic and the bar’s address” Rian said, making Laura arch her brows. “That doesn’t sound like Christian” She thought. How did whoever texted Riley have her contact or who was watching her last night to know when she passed out? Is someone stalking her?
It should be Christian right? But how did he get Riley’s number or isn’t it him?
“I think tomorrow should be okay, what do you think?” She was brought back to reality by Rian’s faint words.
“Huh?” She said. “What? Weren’t you listening all along?” Rian asked, pushing his left foot forward in a way that moves him closer to her.
“Um.. no, sorry” She apologized, dipping her spoon into the bowl and stirring the soup that was now getting cold.
Rian’s eyes fall to the bowl, “You should drink up, it’s getting cold” He said and she nodded with a hum. “I will”
“And yeah, I was thinking we could go on a date, either today or tomorrow but I realized tomorrow would be okay because I have some stuffs to take care of, with your dad” He said.
“Oh okay, I think tomorrow is okay then”
**The next day**
As the moon rose high in the night sky, casting a soft silver glow over the city below, Rian navigated the dimly lit streets with a sense of purpose. His anticipation grew with each passing moment as he made his way to Laura’s apartment, his heart quickening at the thought of spending the evening with her under the stars.
As he turned the corner onto her street, Rian’s breath caught in his throat at the sight that greeted him. It wasn’t his first time, neither nor his second, he was really familiar with her place, but he never cease to be blown away everytime he visits her Laura’s apartment building stood tall and majestic against the backdrop of the night, its elegant facade illuminated by the warm glow of streetlights. Towering windows framed by cascading vines shimmered with a soft, ethereal light, lending an air of enchantment to the surrounding landscape.
Parking his car with care, Rian stepped out onto the quiet street, his gaze drawn irresistibly to the grand entrance of Laura’s building. A sense of awe washed over him as he took in the sheer beauty and opulence of her surroundings, marveling at the splendor of the world she inhabited.
With a quickening pulse, Rian made his way inside, the soft hum of the evening breeze guiding him towards the elevator. As he ascended to Laura’s floor, his anticipation grew with each passing moment, his heart racing in anticipation of the evening that lay ahead.
As the elevator doors slid open with a soft chime, Rian stepped out into the corridor, his breath catching in his throat at the sight that greeted him. Laura’s apartment door stood before him, a beacon of warmth and welcome amidst the cool, muted tones of the hallway.
Taking a moment to compose himself, Rian raised his hand to knock, his pulse quickening with each passing second. And then, with a soft breath, he rapped gently on the door, his heart racing as he waited for her to answer.
Moments later, the door swung open, revealing Laura standing before him in all her breathtaking glory. She wore a flowing dress the color of midnight, its soft fabric swirling around her like a cloak of shadows. Her hair cascaded in waves of ebony silk, framing her face in a halo of moonlight, and her eyes sparkled with an inner light that took Rian’s breath away.
“Laura,” Rian breathed, his voice barely a whisper as he took in the sight of her. “You look absolutely stunning.”
A blush rose to Laura’s cheeks at his words, her smile radiant as she stepped forward to greet him. “Thank you, Rian,” she murmured, her voice soft with emotion. “I’m so glad you’re here.”
With a smile that mirrored her own, Rian offered her his arm, his heart swelling with love and admiration for the woman standing before him. And as they stepped out into the fading light of the evening, hand in hand, Rian never wanted that moment to end, ever.
As Rian pulled up to the curb outside Laura’s apartment building, he swiftly got out of the car and walked around to open the passenger door for her. With a warm smile, he extended his hand to help her out of the car. Laura gracefully stepped out, the soft glow of the evening casting a flattering light on her features. Her dress shimmered in the dim light, accentuating her elegance as she adjusted the strap of her purse on her shoulder.
“Thank you, Rian,” she said, her voice soft with appreciation as she linked her arm with his.
