Fifty ways to shove off a jerk boss

Kylie’s P. O. V
I still couldn’t believe he humiliated me in front of everyone saying that I wanted to seduce him. What had gotten into his mind? Why is he treating me like this? As if it wasn’t him but me who was responsible for our break up. I wish I could just leave this job but I had no other choice but to continue working under him.
Earlier today….
I reached the office earlier than my usual time this morning. I had to complete a few files before Sebastian came. I was also planning to leave early today to visit my father. But life never stops surprising us.
“I thought you had a problem waking up in the morning when you were in college. But it seemed you had changed a lot and became an early bird, impressive,” Sebastian retorted. I looked up to see him leaning on my cabin door.
“Good morning Mr. Smith. Do you need anything?” I asked him as professionally as I could. Though in my head I was writing a book about ‘fifty ways to shove off a jerk boss’.
“No, thanks,” he said and left silently. I was surprised by his sudden mood swings. Only if I knew what was he planning for me!
The day was going smoothly until the lunch break. During Lunch break, Cindy came to my office with her signature smile plastered on her lips.
“You are becoming distant after your ex joined our office,” Cindy said making a sad face but couldn’t continue her act for too long. She was someone who couldn’t live without smiling.
“You know you are bad at acting, don’t you?” I asked her cocking my brows. And she burst into laughter at my question.
“Hufff! I wish I was a good actress; then I would be a model of this company and entertaining my fans instead of you,” she sneered and I burst out into laughter. Soon she joined me. What would have I done if she wasn’t there with me? But we couldn’t continue our laughter as we were stopped by someone.
“Now I know why this company went bankrupt. The employees here are too busy to waste their time gossiping instead of working,” came a screeching voice. Cindy turned back to face the person. I also cocked my head and it was Samantha standing in front of my cabin door crossing her arms in front of her fake chest.
“And who the hell are you to comment on our work? I don’t remember our company has anything to do with you,” Cindy responded in her bitchy style. She hated Samantha from the first day.
“I am the future wife of your CEO,” Samantha replied proudly blowing her manicured nails. I left my desk and walked towards them.
“Sorry, honey, we don’t have any posts like that in our company. Please shove your fake nose somewhere else,” Cindy replied with a mocking smile.
When I came out of the cabin, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Samantha fuming in anger wearing the same red dress Sebastian bought.
“How dare you bitch,” Samantha raised her hand to slap Cindy but I stopped her hand mid-air.
“You don’t have any right to hit her or question our work here. And for your information, this is our lunch break so we can do whatever we want in our break. Show your bossy attitude in front of your fiance,” I pushed her hand back. I couldn’t take her attitude anymore, what did she think of her?
“Oh! So you were manipulating the employees here against me? Are you still chasing after Sebastian? Wake up from your dream, he loves me. Can’t you see this dress he personally bought for me?” she said flaunting the dress. The humiliation from last night started running like a flashback before my eyes.
“I have no interest in someone like him. But I guess you are very fond of second-hand things. First, Sebastian, then this dress. Let me tell you a secret. Your fiance asked me to try this dress before he gifted it to you. So you should ask him to stop chasing after me,” I winked at her with a winning smile. I was not that nerd from college anymore to take her ranting.
“You…” Samantha stomped her high heels and was about to yell at me but before she could speak, the door of the CEO’s office swung open, and walked out the almighty Sebastian in his three-piece tailored suit.
“What is the commotion here?” he asked in his icy cold tone.
“Darling, they were bullying me. I just wanted to greet Kylie as an old friend but she mocked me saying that you are her used thing and this dress you gifted me is also second-handed,” Samantha started whining with fake tears. I wanted to roll my eyes but control myself after seeing the number of staff gathered here. I didn’t want any drama here.
“She is just jealous of you. A shameless woman like her is used to seduce rich men to climb up to their beds and get her work done. She wanted to seduce me too but failed. That’s why she’s venting her frustration on you. Just avoid women like her, they are not even near to your standards,” he said in a cold tone locking his eyes with mine.
Flashback ends
I could hear low murmuring from the employees who gathered on this floor to see this drama. They were all discussing my character. How could he insult me like this in front of everyone? Was it just because of his fiancee, or did he have something else on his mind?
Tears were falling from my eyes. I wanted to yell at him and ask him how he could change so much, but my brain froze at that moment.
I came out of my trance at the ringtone of my mobile. I walked back to my desk wiping the tears. I was about to decline the call but received it after seeing the number. It was a call from the hospital where my father was admitted.
“Please, come fast. Your father had a major stroke this morning, now he’s in a coma,” said the nurse from the other end. The tears I was trying so hard to stop, now they were flowing freely. I didn’t waste my time on wiping them. I just took my purse and rushed out of there, pushing the crowd away from my path.
‘Please God help me. I can’t lose my father,’ This was the only thought in my head at that moment.
