THE CEO ALPHA KING
Chapter 16: Offense
Writer’s POV
King Zed appeared from the hallway, and the temperature in the room instantly dropped. Each movement he made spoke of a deadly aura and bled power. He sat at the head of the table.
“Good evening, Master.” Serena greeted, and a newly founded confidence exploded in her; she just had to be perfect until Isaac got her out of there.
The king lifted his eyes to her, acknowledging her presence for the first time since he walked in, and she lowered her eyes in submission.
“Have your seat. You’ll have dinner with me.” King Zed announced.
Serena gasped softly. Just like yesterday, he requested that she had dinner with him, again today. It felt weird to her; after all, she was a slave, and she was supposed to sit at his feet.
She slowly made her way to the table, sitting far away from him in case things got violent.
When was he going to ask for his coffee? She thought.
“Adam.” The Alpha King called, still not taking his eyes off Serena.
“Your Highness.” Adam walked into the room, bowing slightly at his side.
“Who made my dinner tonight?” King Zed questioned his gaze still on Serena. She shifted in her seat, turning to look at Adam, who stood dutifully at his side, a little thrown away by his question.
Adam lifted his head, glancing briefly between Serena and his Alpha.
“Your slave did, your Highness.” He finally answered.
“Hm.” That was all the king said before he directed his next question to Serena, whose gaze found him again.
“Did you poison it?”
“Of course not, your Highness.” Serena gasped, answering too quickly.
“I am not ‘your’ Highness,” King Zed growled in correction.
“I’m sorry, master.” Serena apologized, afraid that she might have angered him.
“Now, where is my coffee?”
Serena stood to her feet immediately, hands clasping behind her, as she started to feel very hot due to how nervous she was.
“I wasn’t sure what you would like.”
“Go make me the usual, slave.” He spat, cutting her off.
Hearing the word ‘slave’ made her stomach flip, she bit her quivering lower lip before leaving the dining room. She quickly got to work.
King Zed dropped his cutleries the moment Serena left for the kitchen. Disgust clouded his features.
“I can’t eat this. Take it away.” He ordered, irritatedly touching his forehead in frustration.
“Yes, your Highness. I’ll get the servants to clear up the table.” Adam answered and left quickly to avoid his wrath.
When Serena came back with the coffee, she was surprised to see his cutleries discarded carelessly as he rested his head against his palm.
She threaded carefully towards him, reaching to drop the coffee in front of him. She had almost dropped the coffee when he suddenly raised his head. Unable to control her surprise, she stumbled back, and this caused the cup to slide off the tray and splash over him.
Her heart skipped a bit as she stared in shock at him. Goosebumps displayed over her pale skin. The Alpha King growled-more animal than human. His cold gray orbs turned to deadly red ones as he rose to his feet, towering above her.
Without much thought, she knelt before him in submission and apology.
She was going to die today.
She had committed two grave offenses. Looking him closely in the eye can also be regarded as a challenge. And also pouring coffee on him. Again!
She started to shiver all over, fear filling her entire system. She turned cold.
“I’m… I’m sorry, your high… Master. I’m sorry.” She stammered, tears running down her cheeks. Will he forgive her? Doubtful. But Serena hoped that he would let her go.
As the Alpha’s eyes slowly returned to their original gray color, he stared down at Serena, who kept trembling below him like a scared little mouse. His anger intensified again as he stared at her small female frame.
Within the next second, he was choking the life out of her. Serena lay on the floor, gasping seriously for air as an invisible force continued choking her.
She thrashed around, gasping for the littlest of air, as tears fell from her eyes. His cold eyes kept staring down at her. She was about to breathe her last when…!
“Your Highness!” Adams’s voice rang from behind, and the King froze from the interruption.
“I… I..” Adam stuttered, his eyes gliding to Serena’s small figure.
“I’ll take her,” Adam said, walking towards them. Serena coughed, reaching up to her neck as if she could still feel the invisible hands on her. She quickly took in lots of air when she realized that she was finally free. Free from his torment.
“Take her to the cell.” The Alpha groaned, and Adam nodded once, helping her to her feet sharply.
She melted into Adam’s embrace and allowed the darkness to take over her as she fell into a state of unconsciousness.
Adam carried her in his arms to the basement. There were rows of cells there where the king often kept disobedient slaves. He pulled open the door to one. He dropped the small slave on the floor, before locking it and leaving.
As King Zed sat back in his chair, he couldn’t control the numerous thoughts that raced his mind. He felt a strong urge to kill her and he almost did until his wolf stepped in.
“You almost killed her, Zed.” Damon lamented angrily at the back of his mind.
“She offended me, Damon. That half-breed wolf girl needs to get far away from us.” The Alpha answered with the same energy; after all, they were one, sharing the same emotion.
“From us? You are the one who doesn’t know how to handle your anger.”
“Didn’t you see what she did? She makes it so hard to not be angry!”
“No, she already pleaded, and you forgave her for spilling the coffee on you. Your hatred for that ‘other’ mate made you do that to her. And now that you know that I’m getting attracted to her. You hate her even more!” His wolf yelled back.
King Zed was half tempted to shut down the mind link. “I don’t want her dead. I want her gone. I don’t want her anywhere near me. I’ll be forced to really kill her. It’s best if you forget about the half-breed!”
“No! We are just getting started, Zed. Deep down, you know there is something about her. You are not just sure what it is. And you are only afraid of being used, like last time. But we need a mate, Zed!” Damon growled, but his words only angered Zed more, he flew his hands against the food on the table, so they all came crashing to the floor.
“I don’t need a mate. You better learn to live without one.” He growled back angrily.
“What about the meal she made? You barely even touched it; now it’s all over the floor. Are you really that afraid to get used again?”
“I’m not! Get off my mind. Don’t speak to me again!” The king yelled back, immediately shutting off the connection with his wolf, but he could still feel it screaming inside of him. He ignored him.
“Adam!” The Beta came rushing in, shocked by the mess on the floor, before bowing to his Alpha.
“Get Elena on the line. Tell her to make sure she’s here before 10:00 a. m. tomorrow. I won’t tolerate lateness.”
“Right away.”

Isaac couldn’t stop pacing around the room as he thought- everyone must have heard what happened with Serena and the King.
Should I go to Grandma Felicia for help again? No. She won’t be able to do much. Not when the king was this angry. His deadly aura could be felt from all corners of the castle.
He needed to get Serena out of there. As he turned to leave for his room, he got stopped along the hallway by Charles.
“What is it, Charles? I have no time for chit-chat.” Isaac groaned, stepping out of the way only to get blocked again. He rolled his eyes.
“I heard Serena is your biological sister. No wonder you care for her so much. And now I hear she has gotten into another trouble with the king.” Charles said.
“What exactly are you getting at, Charles?” Isaac frowned.
“Join me; let’s end this before the king takes your sister’s life.” Isaac couldn’t hide his shock as he stared at the other male servant. He no longer hides his hate for the king.
“End this how? To find a way to kill the king? No man. That aren’t working. I’m not going to turn into a murderer.” Isaac shook his head in disagreement, turning to leave again.
“Then watch him as he turns into yet another murderer and murders the sister you just united with,” Charles spat out with hate.
“I won’t let my sister die, okay? But I’m not doing it in your way,” Isaac yelled at his face before walking away hastily.
When he got to his room, he pulled out his card and left for the hospital to get the drugs he needed.
When he got them, he took them to his room and hid them in his drawer along with the syringe, before stepping out to ask about Serena. He found out she was in the king’s cell; before leaving for the cell, he grabbed two bottles of Vertigo.
When he approached the entrance, the two guards stationed there looked up at him.
“Hey, what do you want?” One of them asked.
“I just… I just want to be with her for a while, bro. No harm done; I know the precautions of trying to behave nasty. I know you must be thirsty, so I brought this for you two.” He handed them the drinks.
They stared at each other and pondered on it for a while before collecting it.
“It won’t get you drunk, but it’ll help you because I know you two must be really tired from standing guard. Now, can you let me in?” He smiled.
They threw the keys at him, and he collected them, and he opened the door, heading to the cell Serena was in.
On reaching there, he gasped and rushed to open the door, he got in and examined her to see the state she was in. Her soft brown hair was sprayed over her face, and there were dark bruises on her neck.
“Hey, sis,” Isaac whispered as he pulled her on his lap.
“I’m sorry that you are here.” He started to apologize when he felt her regain consciousness.
He felt her hand go around him, and tears threatened to fall from his eyes.
“I messed up. I got him angry, Isaac.” She choked out, her voice husky from all the choking. Once he saw how pained and broken she was, his heart sank.
“Shh, it’s okay. Stop crying. I’m sure you’ll get out of here tomorrow morning. Nothing more will happen; by tomorrow, he could have forgiven and forgotten about it all.” He rubbed her back in a reassuring way.
“I thought I was going to die. When I saw his eyes glow red, I thought he was going to kill me. I got him so angry, and I heard that when he gets too angry, he kills a lot of people. My actions might have gotten you killed. I wasn’t careful; I acted stupid.” Serena cried.
“It’s okay. You should really stop crying. Nothing happened; nothing is going to happen. I’ll get you out of here soon,” Isaac whispered, kissing the back of her hand.
“I promise,” he added, still rubbing her back.
Serena finally pulled away after some time. He helped her relax against the wall and then sat close to her, taking her hand in his.
“Won’t you get into trouble if he finds you here, Isaac?” Serena swiftly asked.
“No. He is not coming down here. He doesn’t have to; if he wants you, he’ll send someone for you. He is not going to do anything to me; don’t worry.”
“Thank you, Isaac. Thank you for being here, when I woke up and realized that I was in a dungeon. I got so scared. I hate being alone in here.”
Isaac took her hand and placed a light kiss on it.
“You are not alone anymore. From now on, you’ll always have me by your side. Next, tomorrow is the weekend, and the king will be around; he will ask you to maybe do things for him. I figured out that Saturday would be a perfect day to carry out what we planned.”
“I’ve gotten the drugs we need. I’ve been fully instructed on how to use it too. Immediately after I get you out, I’ll come back and request freedom. We’ll be together always and forever from now on.” He explained, and she smiled happily at the development.
“Thank you, Isaac. If it weren’t for you, then I couldn’t have survived any of these. If you weren’t my brother, then my life could have been a living hell right now with no one here for me.”
“I’m happy that you are my brother. I’m happy you are here with me now.” Serena admitted. Isaac pulled her closer to him and kissed her on the forehead.
“I’m happy too.”
They both stayed there until they eventually fell asleep.

“Issac!” The cell door banged open. Startled, Isaac jumped to his feet, opening his eyes, he saw the guards hitting the cell gate.
“Stand up; you need to go now. You have exceeded your time here. You need to leave now.” One said.
“It’s almost morning.” The other one announced, and Isaac couldn’t help but yawn. Looking down at his sister, he crunched down and gently touched her. He couldn’t just leave without informing her.
Serena opened her eyes the moment she felt his touch and started looking around her in confusion.
“Isaac,” Serena called, clearing sleep away from her eyes.
“Is it morning yet?” She mumbled.
“It’s not morning yet, but it will be in an hour. You will be in the king’s chambers soon. So rest until then.” The guard replied to her.
“In the king’s chambers? Why?” She asked, turning fearfully to her brother.
“Um, probably to help him with, um, to help him bathe.” Isaac shrugged, not really sure.
“I’ll leave now. But I’ll be back later.” Isaac informed then kissed her on the forehead before leaving the cell.
The guards locked the cell after he left. Leaving Serena feeling lonely and helpless.
