****35 minutes later : 9AM*****
As we pulled up outside of the apartment building, I spotted a space. Making the signal, I turned in and shut off the engine. I felt Lily’s arms leave my waist, and felt a small pang of sadness as her body heat vanished. Grabbing the keys, I got off the bike and smiled at Lily.
That was just… I trailed off, gazing at the bike lovingly.
Just ? Lily asked, waving her hand at me and waiting for an answer.
Frickin’ awesome ! I grinned, wiggling my eyebrows at her.
She just laughed and shook her head at me. Laughing back, I grabbed her hand and entwined our fingers, squeezing her hand gently. Dragging her through the doors and up the stairs, I couldn’t wait for us to get our stuff and then get to the beach. When we reached our apartments, I looked at her and smiled.
Grab the stuff you need, and I’ll grab the stuff I need, I said, breathless. And then meet back at the bike in five.
Yes sir ! Lily saluted, trying to keep a straight face.
Raising my eyebrows at her, I stepped forward, threading my fingers through her windswept hair. She looked up at me with wide eyes, wondering what I was doing. Hmm, I like you calling me sir, I whispered against her lips, laughing when she shoved me away, smirking at me.
Just go get your stuff, she smiled, turning her back to me and opening her door.
Oh, bossy too. Interesting… I shouted over my shoulder, smiling when I heard her huff out an exasperated breath behind me.
Spinning around I saw her open her mouth to respond, but I just winked at her and grinned. See you in five, I said before she could say anything, shutting the door.
***10 minutes later****
I leant against the bike, whistling softly to myself as people wandered by. A group of girls had walked past earlier, all wearing short skirts and tight tops and had tried to catch my eye. But I really noticed how I had changed. A couple of months ago, I would have been all over them, but now, they did absolutely nothing for me. The only one, who could get my pulse rising now, was Lily.
Just as my mind drifted to her gorgeous grey eyes, Lily came walking out of the building, dressed in a white dress that fell to her knees. It was thin and flowing, being whipped around by the wind. My gaze drifted up to her face, and I saw that her blonde hair was falling over her left shoulder, tied up in twisted plait. Sunglasses shielded her eyes, and a backpack was slung over her shoulder.
As she walked towards me with a smile on her face, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Hey, I whispered, barely able to form any words.
Hey, she smiled back, lifting up her sunglasses and placing them on top of her head.
So, Jen’s okay with spending the day on her own ? I asked, hoping she would be.
Yep, Lily nodded. I just spoke to her, she has an assignment like me and she’s actually being sensible for once. And she uh she wants me to have some fun.
Good, I smiled, grabbing her hand and pulling her over to the bike. Dean texted me, he’s hanging out with Mark again today. Apparently, he had a score to settle on this new game.
Looks like it’s just you and me then, Lily smiled as she swung her leg over the bike, the dress riding up and showing off her thighs.
My mouth parted slightly as I watched her. The dress wasn’t short, but Lily had to lift it up to straddle the seat. As my eyes wondered over her legs, I had to physically stop myself from going over there and running my hand up her thigh. Damn the temptation was almost too much.
Dude, are you gonna stand there all day ? Lily said, cocking an eyebrow at me.
Just give me a minute, I smirked, making it obvious that I was staring at her legs.
Come on, you ass ! She laughed, patting the seat in front of her.
Okayyyy, I smiled, dragging my eyes away from her and stepping forward.
Swinging my leg over, I stuck the key in the ignition and listened to the engine roar to life once more. I looked down at my stomach, smiling when I saw Lily’s arms appear and wrap around my waist tightly. As I looked over my shoulder, I pulled out in to the traffic and poured on the speed, weaving in and out of the cars with ease. The wind whipped through my hair and the world whizzed by as I drove towards Pacific beach.
Around forty minutes later, we pulled up in to a free spot, close to the pier. Seeing as it was still early, there weren’t as many people milling around as usual, but it was still busy enough. Families were dotted around the beach, and the sounds of laughing youngsters filled the air. Couples strolled alongside the ocean, darting away when the waves got too close. Grinning broadly, I stepped around the bike and grabbed Lily’s hand.
Let’s go and get a good spot, I smiled, dragging her alongside me.
Why the hell don’t I come here more often ?! I heard Lily laugh beside me.
All of a sudden, she let go of my hand and ran forwards. I stopped where I was, watching her as she ran, her dress billowing in the breeze and her hair flowing down her back. As she kept running, she looked over her shoulder, a huge smile on her face. My breath caught in my throat as I saw that smile, like she had no troubles in the world. I laughed as she ran faster, stopping before she reached the water’s edge.
This is the spot ! She yelled, throwing her hands up in the air like a kid.
Perfect ! I shouted back, walking forwards without taking my eyes off her.
When I reached her, I smiled. Looking down, I grabbed the sides of my white shirt and pulled it over my head. I had changed in to my swimming trunks and shirt when we had stopped at the apartments earlier. Throwing the shirt to the floor, I looked back up at Lily. I couldn’t help but grin when I noticed her eyes dart towards my bare chest.
Like what you see ? I teased, collapsing on the white sand.
Meh I’ve seen better, she smirked, throwing the bag down beside me casually.
Oh really ? I laughed, squinting up at her.
She just shrugged and looked down at me, laughing. Bending down, she dropped her sunglasses on to the bag and looked around the beach. I think I’ll just lie down and listen to some music for a while, Lily smiled, gazing down at me.
Sure, I replied.
Nodding, Lily gripped both sides of the white dress and whipped it over her head in one swift move. Looking up at her, my hand shielding my eyes from the sun, I moaned. She wasn’t wearing the red bikini she had worn that day at the park, but rather a plain black costume. It clung to every curve of her body, showing off her trim waist and broad hips ; a perfect hourglass figure. But as she turned around to look at the pier, a wave of desire crashed through me, and I felt a hardness in my trunks. The costume was almost backless, ending just above her rear. It rode high on her hips, highlighting her long legs.
Damn it to hell, I thought, trying to readjust myself to make my hard-on less obvious.
Smiling softly, she led down next to me, her shoulder almost touching mine. Oh come on ! She definitely wasn’t making it easy for me. As she slipped her headphones in to her ears and put on her sunglasses, I gazed at her out of the corner of my eye. She had a small smile on her face and she was bobbing her head to a song that I could faintly hear coming from her headphones. I smiled as I recognised it, Price Tag, a real summer tune. Raking my eyes down her body, an idea suddenly popped in to my head.
……………………………………..
Lily POV :
As the sound of the summer lyrics blasted through the headphones, I couldn’t help but smile. But I wasn’t smiling because of being here at the beach ; I was smiling because I was here with Noah. Somehow, he just helped me forget, at least for a little while. Sighing quietly, I shut my eyes, letting the music drown out the rest of the sounds that were coming from beach.
When I reached out to the side for Noah, I frowned when I felt nothing but empty space. Strange, I thought.
He had been there literally ten seconds ago. I knew because I had felt him staring at me. Sighing, I sat up slowly, taking my headphones from my ears. Looking around, I spotted Noah on the other side of me, a mischievous grin on his face. He was leaning over me, a twinkle in his eyes.
Lily… he grinned, moving closer.
